North Korea has been ratcheting up tensions on the peninsula in recent weeks, test launching

several types of ballistic missiles including mid-range ones and ICBMs.

Many experts think Pyongyang could be building up to another large-scale missile provocation

in the near future.

Kim Hyun-bin reports.

Observing Tuesday's launch of a Hwasong-12 mid-range ballistic missile, North Korean

leader Kim Jong-un called it the first step of a military operation and warned that the

regime will conduct more missiles tests towards the Pacific to enhance its missile capabilities.

Many experts believe the statement by Kim means the regime could continue to test-launch

mid-range and ICBM-level missiles in the near future.

They say it could test not only the Hwasong-12 IRBM but also the Hwasong-14 ICBM... to prove

that the regime can target not only Guam but the U.S. mainland at any given time.

Also, a recent photo unveiled by Pyongyang indicates that the regime is close to developing

a new submarine ballistic missile known as the Pukguksong-three and a new ICBM, the Hwasong-13.

The chart shows the structure of both the SLBM and the ICBM on display behind North

Korean leader Kim Jong-un during his visit last week to the Chemical Material Institute

at the Academy of Defense Science.

Experts say development of the Hwasong-13 cannot be confirmed by looking at the chart,

however the chart did show the detailed structure of the SLBM, which could be a hint that the

North might have already obtained the missile and may want to test it soon.

North Korea: South Korea jets drop bombs 'near Kim's border in show of overwhelming force'

The bombing was ordered by South Korean president Moon Jae-in and used four F15K fighter jets to drop a flurry of MK84 multi-purpose bombs on a training ground near the Korean border.

It comes after the brutal regime of young despot fired yet another missile from on Monday evening, this time crossing Japans northernmost main island of Hokkaido in the boldest show of force from the DPRK of recent years.

Earlier the chairmen of both South Korea and the Joint Chiefs of Staff agreed to take response measures at the earliest possible time that can demonstrate the alliances strong will including military measures" Mr Moon's chief press secretary, Yoon Young-chan, confirmed the drill was ordered by the South Korean military after an urgent National Security Council meeting.

He added: "We assessed North Korea's provocations as extremely severe and decided to maintain a vigilant posture in preparation for the possibility of additional provocations by North Korea." The southern nation went on to release a video of two missiles which could be deployed if Kim Jong-un steps out of line.

The video shows the 500km range ballistic missile with improved warhead power landing on a target with pinpoint accuracy. Another, an 800km range missile, can be seen ploughing into the ocean after being fired from a floating dock.

Either missile is in range of Kim Jong-un's dictatorial base in Pyongyang, potentially wiping out his authoritarian rule.

A spokesperson for the nation;s Agency for Defence Development said: Our military has the missile capability with top-level precision and power to strike any place in North Korea if necessary.

It will greatly reinforce missile forces and power down the road as well. The video's release was in direct response to North Korea's missile launch following a meeting of the south's National Security Council.
