Hey what is up everyone it's OP here I hope you've been having a good week

unfortunately as some of you may have seen over the weekend my PC decided to

die which made it just a little bit harder to get some content out for you

guys obviously you're watching this now which means things are on the mend. It has

just put me back a little bit unfortunately and even though before then

the last couple of weeks I've mainly been focusing on getting content

done for you guys and this just meant that I've not been able to get out the

house much other than get more supplies so I can continue to edit. So this week

I'm gonna be talking a bit more about some of stuff I'll be watching my

in my downtime and there's been a whole host of awesome documentaries films TV shows

I'm absolutely dieing to share them with you guys so let's get into it

first up is a documentary that pretty much everyone on my friends list has

been sharing the absolute hell out. It's Vice's documentary on how to become

the number one fake restaurant on TripAdvisor

this video has had over 30 million views since it was posted just a week ago and

it's had everyone in here laughing their ass off including myself.

The shed is the number one rated restaurant in London you've got every foodie celebrity and

blogger in the city trying to get a table

but the problem is until now it didn't exist

there was DJ Sambience who is literally just playing the sound of a restaurant

and had a trigger pad for a microwave ding

If we want it to be like a real restaurant so it's gotta sound like one. We've got the visual that's

sound! I'd really hate to look stupid doing this.

If the guy you orchestrated this whole prank is

watching this right now all I can say is mate seriously kudos to you you deserve

a medal because you've just basically trolled the entire Internet and the

world and that is a really amazing feat so massive congratulations for put the

absolute sheer balls to pull this off and follow through with it absolutely

amazing yeah yeah literally my blown might blown so everyone else is watching

this right now and you're probably thinking so was this mean for review

scores because we rely so heavily on review scores these days!? Well in

terms of TripAdvisor and restaurants it means that you know everywhere is pretty

good it's more about the company at keeping more than the food that you're

eating so you know what go out to somewhere with your mates and have a

good time that's what it's about. So last week I saw a really crazy post from CES

that someone shared which showed what looked like a bunch of prototype robots

and you can have your personality downloaded into a small plate and

inserted into these robots to you kids essentially live forever and yet when

you see stuff like this it sent my Black Mirror Sense tingly like completely

off the scale. These robots are called sleeves what they're referring to and you had a

bunch of presentations from people that were involved in the company when I saw

this it kind of look legit but also kind of just like this not something quite

right about this even my mate Darren Dyk was posting a selfie in front of

these things so you just like well are these things like how far away is this

technology is this really the legit or am I being trolled here turns out they are

actually part of a viral marketing campaign for new series called

Altered Carbon which is coming out on Netflix in the early part of February

obviously after seeing this it peaked my interest and I checked out the trailer

for Altered Carbon and all I can say is wow it's just like someone went into my brain and

made a TV series like just for me and I'm pretty sure you guys would be into

it as well. Your body is not who you are you shed it like a snake sheds its skin

we transfer the human consciousness between bodies

to live eternal life. How long have I been down for? Two hundred and fifty years

after seeing the gorgeous trailer for this it absolutely looks like up my street. It almost

looks like Blade Runner 2049 had a fever dream and this was the Netflix series

that came out of it which I am totally on board with.

In film recommendations I recently saw The Belko Experiment which as the

poster suggests is kind of a mash-up between the office and Battle Royale

Stage one commence. His head exploded from the inside what when we start

working here at they the tracers sit in the back of their heads

I also saw the film Mayhem recently and It's kind of like 28 days later if it

just happened to involve just one tower block but it's actually really well put

together and it's kind of a nice blend between comedy and violence which is

kind of my favorite thing.

life as we know it. I have a real fascination with human drama and how we

would handle these situations at the end of the world was to come and we had a

few hours left to survive

seeing the world through the protagonist point of view is really fascinating

because you get to see a little cross-section of just how quickly our

world would crumble once there is no more well to be a part of so I highly

highly recommend checking out if you're even just a little bit interested and

last stop this week I wanted to talk about the artist MDK I recently

discovered this page when he was posing his new design for his clothing range

for the scrap yard a boomtown this year and it absolutely peaked my interest and

looking at Instagram and the rest of his Facebook page I was absolutely blown

away with some of the stuff that he's got on there he's got a very graphic

bold but intricate sort of style so it's definitely worth checking out if you

want to check out his Facebook or Instagram or anything else but I've been

talking about today I'll post all the links in the description below

We have thirteen restaurants in Atlanta and in South Florida.

All types of restaurants: a steakhouse, seafood, French restaurant, Italian...

We have our own bakery.

The company started in 1979 with the restaurant being the first fine dining restaurant in

the city of Atlanta.

The phone system is so important to our lifeline for our guests and for our staff.

That's how we take all of our reservations.

Plus internally, just getting from restaurant

to restaurant, that's how we communicate with each other.

We replaced the phone system because our previous setup was end-of-life.

It was over.

We wanted something that is more user-friendly.

This was easy to use.

We wanted to make sure we're staying on top of the technology that's out there.

I wanted to have a professional sounding on-hold, music, and voice, and be able to advertise

while people are on hold trying to get to the right person.

And again, we wanted to make sure they can get through is the number one priority.

So that's being live 100% of the time and not worrying if the phones are working.

We looked around.

We looked at several different systems.

We looked at Shoretel along with the Digium, we looked at Avaya.

We did our due diligence.

We had a couple of different presentations come in.

And because we have a wide range of stores, we have the corporate offices, where we have

all of our back-office, so we have thirty-five plus people here, in addition to about fifty

lines total, and then each of our stores has somewhere between five and twenty lines and

different of people as well...

So that's how we decided that we were going to come to the Digium system.

We worked with Emerald Data Networks for many years, and they've been a great advisor, a

great partner.

We trust what their judgment is.

The relationship with Emerald and Buckhead has been, gosh, it's over 20 years now.

I mean when I very first started here back in 1996, they were one of the first customers

that I came to.

We do voicemail.

We do... We actually do some pretty sophisticated call-flow analysis at times.

For example, in one of the restaurants, we have certain time windows where if the phone's

not answered within the first set number of rings, and I think usually it's six or

seven, then we ring into a group that actually pages the manager to let him know that the

phone didn't get answered in the time they've been told that they have to answer the phone,

right?

Depending on the individual person who was getting a phone dictated the model.

Some of them full-featured phones, some of them are advanced, and then others, less-featured

phones.

And then the services of course are the customizable messaging.

And in the back offices, we use it for a lot more than that.

We use it for our integration with our credit card system.

We use it with for our integration with our gift cards system.

We use it for marketing.

So it has a lot of uses beyond that in the back office.

For the front office, it's a restaurant, right?

We need to answer the phones, take the calls and take the reservations.

If they call us after hours we'll pick them up and call them back the next day.

We did a one-day rollout.

We ordered all the phones into our office.

We plugged the phone system and all the phones into a local network, let them all get their

IDs, assign all the users to the individual phone sets, set up all their presets for their

buttons, and print all the labels out and put them in.

We didn't feel anything.

Everybody that worked down here, we just came in the next day, and we had new looking phones,

that's the only difference we saw.

So we basically came in, we racked up the system, we set the phones out on the desks,

we turned them on...

Boom!

Everything was done.

Their name was up.

Their pre-dials were already set.

They were good to go.

I think one of the biggest things is the message on hold, and just our message when people

call up, they hear what our marketing piece is, we do a lot of different promos...

They have several, maybe not hundreds, but tens of different recordings that they do

every year for marketing purposes, whether it be something at Halloween, or at Christmas,

or Thanksgiving.

Or whether we do things like temporarily closed, or, you know, we're having an ice

day or whatever here in Atlanta...

I have an on-hold reminder, which is one of the few things... We cherish our guests, and

we want them to not be forgotten.

This new system alerts you when it gets to 30 seconds into the phone call.

It beeps and also blinks to remind me if somebody is on hold, but it makes a sound too.

I think they, if they thought about it, they would say that the voice quality is better

than what they had before.

And that's probably because of the HD phone sets.

I think our staff is very excited to use it because they just know, "Hey, it's just simple."

It's not too complicated.

"What extension do I press, what do I do?"

It's just very user-friendly to transfer calls, to accept calls... all that.

One of the reasons we switched was because of the savings.

It was no cables running from pole to pole, but using a smarter way of communicating which

was not only better quality but was more efficient financially I would say.

Previously, one of the things that we tried to do was make sure that it would be very

easy through our POS System, our Point of Sales System, and our reservation system,

we made it easy to, if somebody called the restaurant, and we didn't have a seat for

them tonight at 7:30 at the Fish Market, it made it easy for us to go ahead and be able

to book them a reservation across the street at Chops at 7:30, right?

So, one of the things that we've done with the phone system is that we've made it easy

to also transfer those calls over.

So if for some reason, they want to talk to somebody a Pricci, for example, and they can't

get a reservation here, but we see there is on available at Pricci we can make it, but

they want to talk to somebody there, we can very easily two-touch transfer them over to

the restaurant and the phone system helped enable that.

As far as satisfaction goes from our guests that attend the restaurants, I would

hear about it, if there were problems.

But I don't hear about it.

So it's gotta be good.

We call it the lifeline of our restaurant.

Even with all the technology, people making reservations online...

Anybody that is really serious about dining with us, uses it to talk to a live person,

and it's like our bread and butter. Absolutely.

We're thinking about expanding our family, what things should we consider?

So, women are frequently asked this question, but for women with MS, most of the problems

that they're considering are the same as all pregnant women.

I think there is issues, however, that are different and that's probably about the

drugs that people are taking.

If you're on a Disease Modifying Therapy it's really important that you talk to your

nurse about when you need to stop that drug.

But other medications as well, so if you're on perhaps nerve pain medication, that's

going to need to stop as well.

And that's something that you really need to consider.

Other things to consider is what family, what support you have out there, and sometimes

it's good to write a list of all the problems you think you're going to face, see them

on paper and then look at how maybe you can solve some of them.

And go and speak to and get advice from others about how you might, how you might approach

the other problems.

There's lots on the website now and online about women who have a disability or have

a long-term condition and how they manage pregnancy.

So I think it's important to read those as well, because sometimes hearing other people's

point of views can be really reassuring for you.

But MS does not mean that you cannot expand your family.

It does not affect your fertility and having a baby's not going to make your MS worse.

Okay, so it's like, as you say, it's reiterating the communication and speaking with or consulting

your MS nurse and educating yourself as much as you can.

And as you say, there's a wealth of information out there so people shouldn't be afraid

to do that.

IEP Guide: What Should Be Considered as Students Transition from High School - Duration: 8:39.

Transition on the IEP means

the parents, teachers, other team members,

and most importantly, the student start to think about

and plan for what happens after high school graduation.

After high school graduation

is now called post-school years.

Transitions may look different

for deaf and hard of hearing students.

Some may plan to work right after high school,

others plan to attend college

and need to learn about disability services,

and others might attend a transition program

before turning 21.

Self-advocacy skills and language need

to continue to be strengthened.

However, self-realization is a process

throughout lifetime.

It's important to remember that this happens in stages,

sometimes starting in middle school

or even high school.

For those students who receive little direct service time

from a teacher of deaf/hard of hearing,

it is important to think about information they need

in different places,

such as work and college.

Students may also need more frequent contact

from a teacher of deaf/hard of hearing

in their junior and senior years

when they need to learn about scholarships,

disability services,

programs and colleges for deaf

and hard of hearing students

as well as receive instruction about

how to communicate their needs.

For other students, they may need

to have work experiences

to help them figure out what type of work

they would like to do after high school.

Students may need help planning and practicing

and writing down words to say during the work day

and how to connect with coworkers

and advocate on the job

for interpreters or CART and other services.

Some hard of hearing students in middle school

and early high school years

stop using assistive listening devices in the classroom

and prefer to only wear their personal hearing aids.

They do not want to look different,

especially if they are the only

hard of hearing or deaf student

in class or even in the school.

In middle school and 9th and 10th grades,

sometimes students turn down support

so they feel more independent.

They may also feel more fatigued from listening

and not do as well academically.

During those years, social connections

and appearances are more important.

As they mature, they may be more interested

in remote captioning,

using an assistive listening device in specific classes

especially when they are thinking about

and visiting colleges, vocational training programs

or work situations

that require them to be more responsible

for information they are learning.

It is important that students in middle school

and high school

continue to have different demonstrations

and trials happen in classrooms.

Sometimes they do not want to try specific services

in high school,

but are interested about that service in college.

The pace and rigor of college classes,

as well as some advanced or

honors high school classes,

may cause teams to reconsider what access is available

and services, such as remote captioning,

may need to be added.

Many schools are using teacher-created videos

that are streamed into classrooms.

Sometimes these are called flipped classrooms.

This means the teacher videotapes the lesson

and the students watch it at home.

Even students who say they can hear videos

without captions

should still have captions,

especially when they are learning

new academic vocabulary.

They cannot recognize words that they struggle

to hear fully.

This is an adaptation that should be discussed

on the IEP team.

It is also important that students ask

disability services in colleges

about captions for online videos for different classes.

It is important students and parents understand laws

that relate to training and work after high school.

Support and encouragement does not end

Students need to be able to explain the challenges

they have in classrooms for disability services in college

as well as for the Department of Employment

and Economic Development (DEED)

which some students also call Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (VRS).

Students at all levels benefit from role-playing

to prepare them for different scenarios

in college and on the job.

High school students often know

that they should advocate

or say something, but they don't know what to say.

This also includes students in honors

or advanced placement courses.

Although they may succeed academically,

they continue to need a wide variety

of advocacy language modeled for them.

Teachers of deaf and hard of hearing students

can provide many resources to students

and their families,

including modeling communication

with disability services

and making connections

with vocational rehabilitation counselors.

It helps teams to think about different items

that students need to know to prepare

for post-school years.

Review the sample transition checklist

that Metro Deaf School created in Appendix VI,

also found on page 46,

to help students create a portfolio.

That portfolio can be modified depending

on the student needs.

The Minnesota Commission for Deaf,

Deafblind and Hard of Hearing's

transition-age collaborative group

produced a transition guide

with webinars which are also a good resource for teams.

According to the United Nations, it no longer judges a country by a particular stage that

it is at in its development.

Nonetheless, countries are ranked higher in terms of the comforts and opportunities afforded

to its citizens.

We now call this the Human Development Index.

Back in the day, we would judge a country by its stage of industrialization, and the

first developed country in this sense was the UK.

Belgium followed, then Germany, then the USA, and then France and other western European

nations.

If we look at today's Human Development Index, the top ten countries in order are:

Norway, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Singapore, the Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland,

Canada, and 10th, believe it or not, is the USA.

The UK, which was once in first place, now stands in 16th place.

Today we'll look at why, in this episode of the Infographics Show, 3rd World vs 1st

World Countries - What's The Difference?

First of all, many people think we should stop using these terms of first and third

world.

The terms are seen as insulting and vague, and while some nations might not be economic

powerhouses, what's to say the citizens don't live a happy and safe life, even without

a Big Mac and fries?

If we go back some years to 1952, a French demographer Alfred Sauvy wrote about "Three

worlds, one planet."

It is he who is said to have coined the term.

By first world, he meant the USA, Japan, South Korea and Western Europe.

By second world, he meant the Soviet Union, China, Cuba and communist allies.

At the bottom, in the third world, he meant all the rest, societies that were mostly agrarian

and poor.

One of the reasons the term is decried is because it was so vague.

There wasn't really much analysis, and so in spite of northern Brits living in industrial

slums and working in inhumane conditions as George Orwell wrote in 'The Road to Wigan

Pier', because of Britain's relative wealth, it was deemed first world.

In fact, these days a professor at Harvard Medical School has used the term 'Fourth

World', which includes the USA.

This means a country of great wealth where some parts of society live on the fringes,

jobless, often drug-addicted, with no healthcare and not so many opportunities to change things

around.

They are living in a first world with third world standards.

So, this is a rather confusing question we have posed.

Do we use the term developing?

We can look at what has happened over many parts of Asia in the last twenty years.

While parts of China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand still have pervasive abject poverty,

there is a lot more money.

It isn't exactly getting to everyone, though, and one might ask if farming rice in China

was any worse than making iPhone components for hours on end in a factory in a polluted

city.

But with this new money, infrastructure has improved, and so too has healthcare and education.

We could say these countries are verily developing.

But why is Norway the most developed?

Is it still not developing?

Does developed mean stasis?

Not really, all countries are still developing, but others could be said to be going through

major changes.

The U.S. Department of State explains why Norway is so developed: "Per capita GDP

is among the highest in the world," we are told, due to thriving industries in this nation

of just 5.2 million people.

Just take into account that Delhi has 18.6 million people.

You only need to walk around Delhi to see poverty all around you, you don't have to

go looking for it.

India is developing due to its fairly amazing economic growth, but still, it was reported

in 2014 that 58% of the Indian population were living on less than $3.10 per day.

India puts the poverty line at $1.90 a day.

This may be enough not to starve to death, but we can imagine that those people living

on that amount don't have the freedom and opportunities that Norway's less well-to-do

people have.

In fact, in Norway, the average income is more than $35,000 a year.

Only 3 percent of the population work very long hours, and all Norwegians, according

to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, can expect good, "environment

quality, jobs and earnings, income and wealth, education and skills, housing, work-life balance,

civic engagement, social connections, and health status."

The same definitely cannot be said of any developing nation.

Nonetheless, anyone in India will tell you about great transformations, more job opportunities,

an easing of poverty, and how far the country has come in terms of developing technology.

Norway is top of the Human Development Index, so we could say this is the first of the first

world countries, even though we don't use that term anymore.

The top 51 nations fall in the 'High' Human Development bracket.

Out of 188 countries, India comes in at 131st.

Indeed, India's super rich wealth and massive growth has yet to trickle down to many of

the masses.

The HDI has three main categories: Environmental sustainability, economic sustainability and

social sustainability.

Right at the bottom of the HDI is the Central African Republic.

Again, while we don't use the term third world anymore, you could say that this might

be the bottom of the list in so far as we have a term for not being developed.

Why is that?

For starters, life expectancy there is only 52, or thereabouts.

It is tied with Angola, and only better than one country, which is Sierra Leone.

People there can expect to live to 50.1.

By comparison, Norwegians on average can expect to live about 30 years longer.

In India, the life expectancy is 68, somewhere in the middle.

The 4.6 million people living in the Central African Republic have faced extreme poverty,

war, ethnic and religious cleansing, and political violence.

It's said to be the worst place in the world to be young, and even if you get a job, the

average wage per year is said to be $400, although this might need updating.

Half of the population is illiterate, and if you go to school you might not do more

than 4 or 5 years.

It has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world, and about a quarter of

the women have undergone genital mutilation.

If that isn't bad enough, human rights hardly exist.

Complain, and you might find yourself being arrested summarily and sent to a terrible

jail.

Corruption is rife, and there is not much anyone can do.

The country has a history of labor rights violations as well as child labor.

Children and women regularly face violence after being accused of being witches.

One travel blogger talked of his experience in the capital of Bangui, saying it was "a

mess that is always teetering on the edge of violence."

We are of course mentioning the very worse things, and no doubt a lot of people live

a happy life there.

We just want to outline a kind of first, second and third comparison.

That's why we have picked these three nations.

We could also look at the country of Botswana, which comes in 108th place.

This is quite low, but if you've read Malcom Gladwell's book, 'Outliers', you'll

know it's home to possibly some of the happiest, laidback, self-sufficient people in the world.

Or was, until recent times.

According to Gladwell, they have a two hour work day on average, and play around most

of the time.

They don't need iPhones or dinner sets made by Hermes.

They are the last Hunter/Gatherer tribe called the ǃKung Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert.

These wanderers also moved through Angola (which is placed 150th on the HDI).

Unfortunately, what they hunt and gather is being destroyed by development.

Anthropologists say they get over conflicts in peaceful ways and generally are a happy

lot.

They provide for their kids with devotion, and remain mostly monogamous.

Wealth is shared with everyone.

In more recent years, that has changed as some were forced to settle in one place, and

that's when the problems arose.

As soon as they got doors, they started shutting them and sharing less.

They are also very much third world by western standards.

So, are they any worse off than an overworked, overweight, diabetes and hypertension suffering

rich first world man that takes pills to sleep and often drinks to oblivion?

Why does God allow suffering?

Why do children die of cancer?

Why do families die of starvation?

Why do people who are going about their daily lives get killed by terrorists?

Why is our world full of tragic suffering and senseless death?

People who believe in the Christian God believe that He is all-knowing, all-loving and all-powerful.

But if He knows about the suffering and if He loves the people who are suffering, why

doesn't He use His power to stop the suffering?

We have more to learn about who God is and what He is doing.

Many people have theories about why God allows suffering.

But the authoritative answer is found in God's Word, the Holy Bible.

The Apostle Paul described the age we live in as "this present evil world."

Who is the god of this "present evil world"?

The answer might surprise you.

Ezekiel 28:12 describes a magnificent archangel who was "full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty."

Isaiah 14:13 tells us that God gave this angel authority to rule over the Earth.

But then he turned to evil and tried to seize God's throne.

This angel's name was Lucifer.

After he rebelled, God changed his name to Satan.

And notice: God cast him back down to Earth.

The Bible says Satan is real!

Not only that, but he has deceived the whole world.

But that's not all.

The Bible also makes this shocking statement: Satan is, in fact, "the GOD OF THIS WORLD"!

Does the world around you begin to make a little more sense when you realize that the

god of this world is actually Satan?

But why is God allowing this?

There is a valuable reason: God is teaching us something.

The sadness, the misery, the tragedy that surrounds us is not something to ignore.

It's something we must face up to-and learn from.

Jesus Christ faced these facts.

In his day, a building had collapsed, crushing 18 people in a tragic accidental death.

"[T]hink ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

-Luke 13:4-5

Jesus Christ Himself said that human beings suffer and die-even though they are no more

sinful than those who continue to live.

Romans 3:23 says that all human beings are guilty of sin.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 says that time and chance happen to everyone.

Jesus said that, one way or another, we will "all likewise perish"-unless we repent!

Repenting means giving up your entire way of life and submitting to God's way of life.

It means turning to the true God and allowing Him to rule you.

Jesus showed that the disasters people are suffering are warnings to those who believe

in God.

One way or another, your brief existence will come to an end-unless you repent of your sins

and turn to God!

The most fundamental lesson a human being can learn is to face the truth, to recognize

his own helplessness apart from God.

But what about those who died?

They cannot learn any lessons from their own deaths.

What does the bible say?

"Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into

you, and ye shall live;" -Ezekiel 37:5

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God ..."

-Revelation 20:12 The plain truth of the Bible is that all those

who have died will live again!

They will be resurrected to physical life at a time when Jesus Christ has replaced Satan

as the god of this world!

"God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither

sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain."

-Revelation 21:4

Satan is the god of this world.

God allows him to wreak suffering and death to teach a valuable, eternal lesson to those

who will repent.

In the future, God will replace Satan as ruler over the world, He will resurrect those who

have died, and He will give them the opportunity to repent and have a relationship with Him.

Why does God allow suffering?

This is God's answer, from the Bible.

You have the opportunity to learn the lesson Jesus Christ taught and to truly repent of

your sins and turn to God now "Begin your journey toward repentance and a relationship

with God by requesting Repentance toward God.

Trump and the Republican Party are working to take away women's reproductive rights and

to extend special "conscience" protections to "Christians" who feel that their faith

should somehow supersede the law.

They view the poor, the disabled, and others as "useless eaters" and are working to protect

white privilege and the power of white right-wing Christians in all areas of American life.

Trump is also a petit-fascist and an authoritarian.

This vision of the world is embraced in every way by right-wing Christians.

Too many pundits and other members of the chattering class prefer to make riddles out

of the obvious: They obsess about evangelical leaders offering "mulligans" for Trump's "sins"

and other assorted examples of right-wing Christian hypocrisy

While the answer to this supposed riddle is nothing more than crude realpolitik -- the

context, logic and implications of right-wing Christian support for Trump remain important.

Consider the following.

Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People? | Little Lessons with David Servant - Duration: 8:17.

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Hi.

Welcome to Little Lessons.

In our previous two episodes, we've been considering some very difficult questions for which, in

my more than 40 years of being in the ministry, and more than that of being a Christian, I've

never come up with a answer or read an answer or heard an answer that fully satisfied me.

I get some degree of understanding, but not as much as I would like.

Of course, that agrees with what Paul said.

Paul said, "We're looking through a glass darkly or dimly."

That is, imagine that that's our perception of things.

We don't understand or see everything.

It's not all clear to us.

We're looking through a glass that's fogged over, and we can make out some stuff on the

other side of that glass, but we can't see as much as we want.

This is one of those questions, you know?

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Well, first of all, we got to question about the good people part, because all have sinned

and fallen short of the glory of God, and very few of us could say, "I deserve better

treatment."

No, we're all getting better treatment than we deserve, okay?

If it wasn't for the mercy and grace of God, you and I would have been french fries a lot

time ago, and we often take that mercy for granted.

But why do bad things happen to good people?

The primary example of that happening would be Job.

He was the best person on the earth, according to God Himself, and some very bad things happened

to him.

It was to test him to see if he would serve God and love God even if God didn't bless

him.

That's quite a test.

Something to think about when we suffer difficulties, because some people do give up on God when

they face difficulties.

"Why is God allowing this?"

Think of all the Christians down through the years who have suffered martyrdom or imprisonment

or severe persecution for their faith.

They all have to at least have the thought, at some time or another, "Why, God, if you

love me, are you letting me go through this?"

Paul had to reassure some of those Christians, saying, "Nothing can separate us from the

love of God, the love of Christ, persecution, tribulation, distress, peril, all those things,

nothing can separate us from the love of God."

And you have to believe that when you don't feel like it.

If God allows you to go through difficulties, or face tests, doesn't change the fact the

Jesus died for you, and God loves you, and He may be testing you.

That could be a possible reason why bad things happen to good people.

There's a passage of scripture in Luke 13, starting at verse number 1, about five verses

here.

We read from Luke's writing, "Now on the same occasion, there were some present who reported

to him," that's Jesus, "about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their

sacrifices."

We don't know the details of that event, but there were people from Galilee came to Jerusalem

to make some sacrifices, and somehow, they wound up being slaughtered by Herod with their

sacrifices ... or by Pilate, rather, and it wasn't Pilate himself, it was obviously his

soldiers, or somebody under his authority.

And Jesus said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than

all other Galileans because they suffered this fate?"

Well, no doubt, if Jesus' audience had been entirely honest, many of them would have said,

"Well, yes.

God is sovereign.

God controls everything.

Why would God ever allow such a terrible thing to happen to these people if they didn't deserve

it?

And obviously they're worse culprits than the average person.

We don't know what their sins were, but obviously their fate reveals that they are bad guys,

and they got what they deserved."

Well, Jesus, the Son of God, God in the flesh, says to that assumption, "I tell you, no.

That's not it."

But he doesn't answer the question.

Just like he didn't answer the question why -- fully, in my understanding -- why the man

was born blind that we read about in our previous episode and reading from the story in John

chapter 9.

"No, I tell you."

But then he goes on to warn everybody, "But, unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

Hm.

Wow.

That's what Jesus said during a time of calamity.

"Let it be a warning to those who survived.

Repent of your sins.

Turn to the living God with a living faith."

Jesus didn't stop there.

He goes on to cite another example that would've been on everybody's minds.

"Do you suppose that those 18 on whom the Tower of Siloam fell, and killed them, were

worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem?"

If Jesus' audience would've been honest, many of them would have said, "Yes, God's sovereign.

This couldn't have happened apart from His sovereignty, and so, God is fair, God is just,

God is the judge.

Obviously, these 18 guys must've been deserving of the Tower of Siloam."

Well, Jesus goes on to say the same thing.

"No, I tell you, no.

And unless you repent, you will likewise perish."

Here's one message.

You think they're worse culprits?

No, you're all equal culprits in God's eyes.

Don't be assuming that because you were spared, that you weren't deserving of the same fate.

Now, we don't know why the Tower of Siloam fell onto 18 guys.

Sounds like ... obviously, there was chance involved in it.

Why would a tower fall on people?

Were they building the tower, constructing it, and there was some flaw in their building

technique, and a big rock was dislodged, and that caused the collapse of this thing on

18 of the guys who were working, or were 18 men just standing there in the shade of that

tower, and there was a slight earthquake that caused that tower to fall?

Jesus doesn't give us the answers.

He just says, "Let that serve as a warning to you that death can come unexpectedly, at

any time, and there's no formulas here.

And I'm not going to give you a formula.

I'm not going to even give you insight as to why, but it does happen."

Let's face it.

Around the world, there are accidents, there are natural disasters and so forth, and we

do find evidence in scripture, yes, that some of these things can happen as a result of

God's judgment.

He takes credit.

I'm judging you.

But in these cases here, maybe we shouldn't be asking why good things happen to bad people,

but ask why do ... or, why do bad things happen to good people, but the exact opposite.

Why does anything good happen to anybody, because we're all bad, okay?

This is, again, a little lesson, and that's a big question.

Why Do People Talk In Their Sleep?

Do you talk during your sleep? Sleep talking, also known as somniloquy is considered a type of parasomnia, an abnormal behavior that takes place during sleep.

Various factors such as stress, depression, alcohol, and sleep deprivation cause sleep talking.

Apart from that, genetics and other sleep disorders may induce it.

Medically, it is harmless.

So, there is nothing to panic about it.

Are you a chit chat person at night? The question is not about your chats during late night parties.

But, this is about your talks while you sleep.

Surprised? Yes, some people chatter during their sleep.

You may not know whether you are a sleep talker or not.

Your partner may be able to answer that.

Or sometimes, you may have noticed whispers, mumbles, or speeches coming from your partner during the sleep.

Well, that is sleep taking.

Understanding Sleep Talking.

Sleep talking, also known as somniloquy is considered a type of parasomnia, which is an abnormal behavior that takes place during sleep.

Those who talk during sleep are not aware of their behavior.

Hence, they sound different from their normal speech.

Since it is a result of an unconscious mind, even the court does not admit it as an evidence.

Sleep talk usually happens during the REM (rapid eye movement) and non-REM (NREM) phases of sleep.

REM phase is when you dream and sometimes, you may tend to act out your dreams, resulting in sleep talk.

And during the deep stages of NREM sleep, you sound like gibberish.

So, are you curious to know your chances of sleep talking? Yes, you may sleep talk.

In fact, anyone can talk while they are asleep.

However, it is more common in males and children.1 A survey of 2,022 school going children in the age range of 3 to 10 concluded that about half of the kids sleep talk at least once a year.

However, less than 10% do it every night.2 And it typically disappears during adulthood and does not require any intervention.3 Sometimes, sleep talking can occur between two sleepers.

They do not recollect any of the conversation when they get up.

Sleep talking from an unconscious mind may not necessarily reveal secrets in its life.

If you ever try to decode what your partner or child said during the sleep, you may fail.

Most of the time it is difficult to understand.

The content may not have any meaning at all.

It can be funny or offensive.

The person may talk about the past events or experiences.

But, chances are high that it may not have anything to do with the reality.

Causes Of Sleep Talking.

Many consider sleep talking as part of their dreams.

But, various other factors cause it.4.

External Factors: Stress, depression, alcohol, fever, and sleep deprivation may lead to sleep talking.

If you are someone with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chances of sleeping disorders like sleep talking are more.5.

Genetics: If sleep talking runs in your family, you will also do that.

If parents had a habit of sleep talking during their childhood, kids are likely to experience it more.

Sleep Disorders: You may talk while sleeping if you suffer from other sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, confusion arousals, REM sleep behavior, and nightmares.

Mental Illness: In persons over 25 years of age, sleep talking might be associated with mental or medical illness.

However, it is not common.

Medications: Certain medications could induce sleep talking.

The use of montelukast, which is a drug for asthma, may result in the development of parasomnias in the form of sleep talking or sleepwalking.6.

Is Sleep Talking Bad.

Medically, there is nothing wrong with sleep talking.7 But, there are other factors that may disturb people.

It may agitate your sleeping partner.

Moreover, it embarrasses the person who has this disorder.

Even though it is normal, if sleep talking happens every night, disturbing your partner's sleep, then you may seek help.

Sometimes the doctor may prescribe medications or suggest changes in your sleep schedule.

Here are the most common issues of not gaining weight despite eating well and healthy.

You are overestimating your calories intake: Weight gain is the game of caloric surplus, that is you have to consume more calories than what you are actually in need of.

If you eat 500 calories per day, in addition to your daily requirement, you will gain one pound of healthy weight in a week.

Look for the calories that you are taking and have an eyesight at your activities levels as well, that either you are eating more calories than your requirement or not.

Exercise is the must for weight gain, however, when you trying to gain weight, you have to be focused on the resistant exercise and not cardio. cardio burns a lot of calories and thus you will be unable to gain weight.

Genetic considerations: Some person are by genetic lean, look at your family members, if they are lean, then you have to put more efforts and wait for more time to gain weight.

Certain medical conditions restrict the weight gain of your body, these are undiagnosed diabetes, gastric issues and overactive thyroid gland. Check for these factors of not gaining weight as well.
