hey guys I'm trying to multitask today so I'm cooking dinner eating my lunch

and making my videos but I hope you guys like my title basically put the prank

videos down for now stop looking at those videos and let's talk about

something that's a lot more important especially if you're trying to grow your

channel I see here YouTube it says YouTube will no longer let you make

money off its platform unless your channel reaches ten thousand lifetime

views which we all know and then I'm not gonna read but as I'm talking you can

see what they're saying and then you can pause the video and read what's going on

but I'm just gonna sum it up in a nutshell but there's one part that I do

want to read to you and it's okay it's right here it says YouTube's says this

is designed to help discourage scam artists and content creators that

violate YouTube's policies for making money on the platform the company said

in a blog post now you know what in a way you guys might call me idiot but I'm

gonna say this to you I'm far from idiot and the reason why I'm saying this is I

think that that's a brilliant idea because there's so many people that are

up here abusing the platform to the point of it's ridiculous and they're

making it for youtubers that are dedicated to their channel to make

content and I think that if you do discourage people from getting up here

making videos the ones that are not serious they won't make videos and cause

havoc up here on YouTube and leave the platform for people like myself and

people like you that are watch in this video as we speak they will

leave this space for us to be creative and I think that it's fear that you have

to have on your whole channel as a whole 10,000 lifetime views in order to start

getting your videos monetized that is a key component to YouTube now before it

was you can upload video and then monetize it doesn't make any sense to

monetize anyways I'd monetize my videos I'm at a little over two hundred

thousand views however I'm not making any money at this point yet it has to be

consistent 200,000 views per month I'm in order to see maybe a hundred a

hundred dollars from that revenue but with all that being said youtube has made

some changes and I think that it's for the better and I also like that system

that pops up that lets you know when a video is not appropriate for the

platform I'd rather know before I upload a video that YouTube is not with that

program that YouTube doesn't want that video on their platform I don't need to

hear that my channel is being threatened to be taken down six months later when

I'm doing well on that channel because of some video that I had posted six

months ago so I like the changes that are going on on YouTube and I think that

the changes are also going to let other smaller channels grow and they're also

cracking down on the bigger channels that are doing the clickbait videos that

are making the videos that are violating the terms of YouTube

they're also cracking down not only on the small channels but the big channels

as well I think soon YouTube will have us all at an even platform an even playing

field YouTube has to be aware that if they allow everyone to be at even

playing field everybody will get a chance to grow at their own pace and

then perhaps there will be many many many more PewDiePie's to come if give

the chance and not being treated differently than a big youtuber so I

really feel like this article here did some justice me scrolling upon it and

finding this this information here I don't know how we got way down here but

yeah really go and read the literature that they're talking about in this blog

post here it's very very interesting this whole blog post it's a short little

blog post I love that and it's not like a book long but it's a blog post telling

you basically some of the policies that YouTube was implementing at

this present time to make YouTube a better environment and this post was

posted on April 6 2017 so this wasn't too long ago this is not like this is

some old news this is only a couple of months ago but didn't have to tell me

that I couldn't monetize my videos until I reached 10,000 because it

already shows it on the platform that you're not able to even have that icon

that link will symbol to monetize until you reach 10,000 and you still have to

be reviewed the channel as a whole which is another good thing you want YouTube

to be able to when you reach 10,000 so if they're so-called doing this review

your channel to make sure that you're not breaking the violations of YouTube

so that later on you get community strikes or copyright strikes when your

channel starts to grow let me know from the gate don't even let me indicate

unless I basically have a clean channel that is suitable and is I'm following

all the guidelines to YouTube don't have me making all this content and then as

soon as I start making some revenue you want to stop flagging videos and then

shut me down so with all that being said please subscribe share and like this

making a favorite and always remember to look in the description from relative

search terms of other videos to watch similar or maybe different than the

video that you're watching now and you know videos that you might never

otherwise would have known about if you didn't copy and paste one of those

search terms in YouTube search engines and found it so with that all

How To Make Money With Podcasts - Duration: 7:09.

Hey, so you want to learn

how to make money with podcasts.

Today, I'm going to go over the different

ways that podcasters are monetizing their show and making money with podcasts.

My name is Luis Congdon, the host of Thriving Launch Podcast. We're

doing five figures a month with our show, traveling the world, and landing celebrity

interviews on a consistent basis. I'm excited to dial in with you about how podcasters are

making money with their show.

So, let's dive into one of the first ways on how to make money with

podcasts.

The very first way and the one that everyone talks about

as the holy grail of podcasting is sponsorships.

Simply put, sponsorship is where a company or an individual pays you

to talk about their brand or their company, and help them drive business and brand awareness.

Well, I think sponsorships are the Holy Grail or something that everyone

talks about.

There are other methods and I want to dive in with those because I

think these are even more important and ones that you can start jumping into right away

regardless of where your show is at.

So one of the other ways that podcasters are making money with their show is

by having a membership site or some program of their own that they're selling through

their show.

Now, if you have a podcast and you've heard about sponsorships, and you're

thinking, "I'm going to land a sponsor, and that's going to be the best thing to do,"

let me give you some advice. Start selling your own products and services right away.

Right from day one, you should start offering your own products

and services. Make commercials and offer it on your website because that is, in my opinion,

the holy grail of podcasting. Own your own product, own your own service, and get 100%

commission for every sale you make.

Now, there are some other ways podcasters are making money with

their show.

Like for example, some podcasters offer a membership exclusive,

something like behind the scenes of the podcast

Let's say you interview somebody that your audience loves, and your

podcast is usually 20 minutes, but you do a 40-minute interview with them. So now, you

can sell the behind the scenes 20 minutes extra of that interview, and you can consistently

do that on a regular basis so that then, the paid members of your podcast can buy it.

One example of that is Mixergy

Mixergy is a very big podcast, and they've

done very well.

One of the things Warner

does through his podcast is he offers membership to behind the scenes of his podcast,

and he does very well, and that's just one example of somebody who's selling behind the

scenes.

Another way on how to make money with podcasts is through

affiliate branding or affiliate sales. One of the ways you can do that is simply Google

products or brands you like and type in the word "affiliate."

Let's say you love Nike shoes or you love iTunes, or you love products

on Amazon. You just type in "Amazon affiliates," and you can sign up to become an affiliate,

and on your website, and on your podcast, offer the affiliate sale of whatever product

you like.

We've covered a few of the ways on how to make money with podcasts,

but I want to give you whole spectrum because you can start implementing all these different

methods as soon as you're ready and right out the gate.

With sponsorships, you can't do it right away. That's why I think

these other methods that I'm talking about, they're way better and this is stuff that

you should be doing if you have a podcast.

One of the other ways is people are selling the transcripts.

Let's say I do a 40-minute interview. It's amazing and awesome, and people

are like, "Hey, I'd like to read the interview. I'd love to get the specific resources or

pull out a quote from the episode."

One of the things that my friend,

Ben Settle and some other guys do are they're

selling the transcripts. What they do is they're like, "If you want to read the show notes

and read the verbatim, and a few other bonuses, for $0.99 or a dollar or $5, you can get the

transcript."

You can use something like rev.com to get your episode transcribed

for a buck or under a buck a minute. It doesn't cost you very much, but you will need to make

some sales at least 20 or 30 or 40 sales to at least make up the difference. But that's

just one more way that people are making money from their podcast.

Now, there's another way people are making money from their podcast,

and it's one that not a lot of individuals are thinking about when they're doing interviews

and when they're doing their show, but it's one that I want to get it into your mind.

I want you to start thinking about this because like I always say, with a podcast, you're

sitting on a gold mine. It is incredible the opportunity you have.

One of the other ways you can do that is to do joint ventures

or affiliates or email drops with your guests.

Let's say you have an awesome guest on your show and they have a

product that your audience would love. Well, you just say to your guest, "Hey, I'd love

to do an email drop for you," or "I'd love to do a commercial for your show and let's

make some money together." That will generate a conversation.

Or, maybe you have a product that their audience would love and

you know that it would be an easy sell for them. You know the metrics, and you're doing

well because you don't want to be like "Hey, you interviewed

Dave Asprey He's somebody I love and sir, I have

a product that I think his audience would like."

But you know what? Dave is in a whole different ball field than me,

so I didn't ask him, "Hey, can we do an email drop of our product with you?" But now, other

people are in a different place. They're in a more open area than others in regards to

the business that we could do together, and it's appropriate, so I ask them.

Now, you can do this. You can ask your guest through an email, or

you can ask them after the show, but you can do business with your guests, and it's something

I want to plug into your mind right now. It's because as you start to rack up all these

interviews and all these connections, don't just think of it as an interview. It's a business

opportunity.

So I've loaded you up with all the different ways that podcasters

are making through their show, and I want to dive into podcasting and profiting with
