Auto news on Youtube Apr 27 2018

my name is Kim Mach I am your go-to lady you to teach you how to get people to

love your brand today we're going to be talking about coffee mugs the wonderful

thing about coffee mugs is that they have a low cost per impression cost now

what does that mean it's an advertising term which calculates how much it costs

every time someone sees your logo not with coffee cups the beauty of it is is

that people use them every single day and that gives him a low cost per

impression and if you add someone's name to it so that means you personalize it

you even get more leverage out of it today we are going to discuss the

difference between sublimated mugs and kiln fired mugs now this is a sublimated

map the beauty of sublimated mugs is they're relatively low cost you can get

wonderful detail in even photographic detail on a sublimated map they take a

specialized piece of paper put it into a curved device place the mug inside it

and then print it and neck device is heated up for a few minutes and then you

have your print on it the downside of sublimation is that it

is not a long living print so if you look very closely this mug has been

washed a couple of times and yet tiny little chips and breaks the curl into

the logo you can't wash this kind of mug in the dishwasher and you cannot put it

in an oven or anything I guess it is not safe for long-term use and it is not

safe for microwaves you know where is the killed fired max these are max it

use a really ancient technique so when you look at let's say really old fours

like a Ching bars that still has the original painting on it that was done in

the 15th century that is kiln fired nowadays we've got electric kilns so the

print is done one color at a time and then the matter

is put into a kiln which is a specialized kind of oven and baked at

800 degrees Celsius then it is left to cool down the result is a print that is

permanent it won't chip or fade so your logo remains intact and a lot of fun

things that you can do for argument's saying this particular map which has got

a skeleton branding on it and they are stackable so in short if you want to

have your brand last long and create a good impression for your client go to

the effort of doing kilns fired mugs thank you so much for watching if you

Macon a Difference Day 2018 - Duration: 2:52.

(upbeat music)

- Macon a Difference Day is really important,

because the Town of Ashland and Randolph-Macon

provide so much to the students here,

it's the least we can do to give back to the community,

and this project specifically is really important

because we're planting native plants into this garden,

which are gonna attract a lot more pollenaters

into the area, so we're not only benefiting

the community around us, but the ecosystem at large.

- I'm with my sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta

and we're helping this man that lives in this house

put down mulch in his yard.

I think it positively represents the school

and our chapter here at Randolph-Macon,

so it's not just about the school,

it's also about helping others

and you get a rewarding feeling after you finish.

- We clean our garden, that small garden there,

and then we dug up all the weed,

and then we actually tried to fertilize the soil,

and then we placed the flowers and the new herbs,

and then now we just plant the flowers there.

I'm out here with some friends from

the Circle Kiwanis International group,

we're at the Brian Wesley Moores gardens,

just planting some gardens

to make the community more beautiful.

- So we're here with a very large group of students,

so some of them ar participating in

the Macon A Difference Day activities,

and some of them are part of a workshop

that I've been partnering with

the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries,

who have provided all of the new plants

for our native plant garden here today.

- We've worked closely with Randolph-Macon College

to give them some pointers,

we did a training here earlier in the year,

trained the students, and brought some volunteers together

from the Master Naturalist Program to work with them

to create the designs and to install the plants.

- We're always very thankful for student's support

and student engagement out here in the native plant garden,

every year, for Macon a Difference Day,

they're out here, they're helping us dig,

helping us mulch, helping us cut the beds

and doing all the things that really help

make the garden a wonderful place to be throughout the year.

- Down here in Mechumps Creek,

trying to give back to the town of Ashland.

Trying to clean up out here

and make it more livable for nature

and clean it for the people around here.

Ashland gives so much to us

so we try to give back to them as much as we can.

So, that's why we're out here.

- I'm with my fraternity Kappa Sigma,

we're doing a bunch of different projects here,

such as like painting old furniture

and painting oil tankers in the backyard.

There was also a lot of bamboo

that we had to move and cut up,

and we're putting it in a pile,

so there's a lot of bamboo out here that we had to cut up.

It's just important to give back to the community,

show them all what we have to offer here,

we wanna help out around here

and this is a perfect way to do it.
