A Best Buy employee in Roseville, who was, will be offered his job back, according to Best Buy.
The incident happened Jan. 11 as Placer County Sheriffs deputies
Surveillance video of the incident posted to social media appears to show at least one officer struggling with Trujillo, who then tried to run away. A Best Buy employee, wearing a yellow jacket, chased Trujillo down and tackled him near a curb in the stores parking lot.
We made a decision to terminate our employee for violating our clear policies but have had reason to take another look at what happened, said Best Buy in an emailed statement Monday evening. In the end, we understand he made a split second decision to do what he thought was right and, while we wish he hadnt put himself or anyone else at risk, we regret our initial decision and will be offering him his job back.

The employee, Tyler, who asked that his last name not be used to limit social media attention that may affect his career, told The Bee on Monday that he knew he was breaking a company policy, but did not expect the punishment to be termination.
I stand by it. I think it was the right thing, he said. My supervisors didnt even see it happen. ... I told them I was probably going to get in some sort of trouble for it.

Best Buy FIRES Army vet security guard who tackled fleeing burglary suspect Daily Mail Online
A Best Buy security guard who was seen on surveillance video chasing a burglary suspect and tackling him to the ground has been let go for violating the companys safety policy.
According to a statement from the Place County Sheriffs Department, 35 year old Timothy Trujillo, of Reno, Nevada, was arrested outside the Best Buy in Roseville, California, on January 11 on a felony warrant for multiple burglaries.
The Placer County Sheriffs Special Operations team tracked Trujillo down to the Best Buy parking lot and tried to apprehend him.
This screenshot from a surveillance recording dated January 11 shows a security guard at the Roseville, California, Best Buy pursuing suspected burglar Timothy Trujillo
The guard, an Army veteran named Tyler pictured in yellow jacket , tackles the fugitive and slams him to the ground in the parking lot
Both men end up on the ground pictured in red circle , with sheriffs deputies closing in
Tyler is seen walking away from the suspect as a deputy approaches with a gun drawn
According to the statement, the wanted man punched one of the detectives and tried to flee, but was caught after a short foot pursuit and handcuffed.
What the press release failed to mention was that a security guard working at the electronics store ran after Trujillo and took him down, as seen in a dramatic surveillance video.
Trujillo, 35, form Nevada, has been charged with assaulting and resisting a peace office, possession of burglary tools, possession of meth and burglary
When detectives searched Trujillos car, they found methamphetamine, stolen property and burglary tools, according to the sheriffs department.
The brave security guard, who gave him name to media outlets only as Tyler, told he is a US Army veteran and that he thought he was doing the right thing by stopping the fugitive.
Tyler noted that he was aware of Best Buys policy barring employees from pursuing people suspected of crimes and sensed he would get in trouble.
Two weeks later, he got a call from his manager telling him he was being let go.
Our policy is clear, employees are not to chase potential criminals outside of the store, Best Buy said in a statement addressing the guards firing. Chasing an individual in the parking lot creates a safety risk that isnt worth taking, regardless of how noble an employees intention is.
Tyler, who plans to enroll in college in April, said he does not regret stepping in.
Like I said, it was someone running from the cops, seemed like the logical thing to do, he said.
Two weeks later, Best Buy fired Tyler for violating company police that bars employees from pursuing suspected criminals
Tyler, who did not wish to show his face, said he believe he did the right thing
Lt Andrew Scott, with the Placer County Sheriffs Department, told law enforcement officials were very grateful that the security guard helped them apprehend the suspect, but pointed out that deputies are trained to handle criminals and do not want civilians to get hurt.
Trujillo has been booked into the South Placer Jail on charges of assaulting and resisting a peace office, possession of burglary tools, possession of meth and burglary.
Meanwhile, Tylers mother has defended her sons actions on Facebook, shaming Best Buy for penalizing her son for his courageous help to the deputies.
In a follow up post, the woman wrote: We are very proud of his choice and action. We stand behind Tyler 100 percent .
