- For the past few months I've been working
overtime as the chief love officer man.
A couple of NFL players asked me
to help their moms find a date.
Well this week I heard from Calais Campbell.
- Yo Steve, what's going on man?
Calais Campbell here from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
My mom has been single for 15 years
ever since my dad past away.
She's raised eight amazing children.
She's an awesome woman any guy would be lucky to have.
So, please hook her up.
(audience clapping)
- Alright everybody, please welcome
Calais' mom Nateal, Nateal Campbell.
So do you take any time for yourself?
- Steve, lately I haven't been.
(laughs)
- [Steve] None?
- None, and I'm ready to change that.
- What you looking for in a man?
- You know, I like a man who loves the lord,
wanna go to church and like I said travel.
Do some great things, just have fun and enjoy life.
- Now, lets talk about this church thing for a minute.
- Okay, I knew you was gonna do that.
- Yeah I gotta cause my momma and daddy
was married 64 years.
My father probably one of the best men
I've ever met in my life.
If it wasn't for my father, I'm not sitting here today.
And my father did love the lord,
he just ain't go down there and show it.
(audience laughing)
- Well actually Steve, I can relate to that.
My husband, he didn't really go to church
except for when the kids got baptized,
or Easter or something like that.
- [Steve] But he was a good man?
- He really was, yes.
- [Steve] And he was righteous?
- Yes.
- Well I flew in some eligible bachelors.
- Okay.
- That kind of fit your description, you ready to meet them?
- Yes I am.
- Alright, this is Steve's Dating Blitz.
(audience cheering)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Miss Nateal, I got 'em over here.
And I'll tell you, the two you don't pick,
they want 'em.
- [Nateal] They ready.
(laughing)
- That's what's crazy, you don't even understand.
They up there shopping like they on the show.
These are 14 question that I wrote,
that all women should know to ask a man on the first date.
So the first question is for Charles.
So, go ahead, what would you like to ask?
- What do you value most in a relationship?
- Trust.
I was in. (audience clapping)
I was in a relationship for 40 years.
- [Steve] For how long?
- 40 years, my wife passed away four years ago.
But one of the pillars of our relationship was trust.
We got married, we put all our trust in each other
and it turned out to be the relationship of my life so far.
- Thank you.
- Alright, next question is for Esau.
- Esau, what makes you laugh?
- Funny people, comedy, a funny joke.
I'm a people watcher so I'm always checking people out.
Reading their emotions so to speak.
Someone does something goofy,
or says something goofy, that makes me laugh.
- [Nateal] Okay, last question for Gregory.
For what in life do you feel the most grateful?
- Well first of all Nateal, you can call me Greg.
- Alright, thank you.
(audience clapping)
- You're speaking inside of gratitude.
I was married for 30 years,
my wife too past eight years ago.
I have four wonderful children, 10 great grandchildren.
So I have a gratitude for how life shows up everyday.
(audience clapping)
- He ain't messin' around.
Now, let me ask a question here, name three things
you'd like to have in common with your partner.
- I gotta get my sports in, okay.
I want someone who can sit there
eat some popcorn with me.
- Yeah.
- You know enjoy it.
I'd love someone that can
just get in the car with me and drive.
I got a little sports car.
- Sounds good.
- Drive, we might stop, get a juice or something.
And then third, I'm old school I like going out.
I got a couple places that I go, got some smooth Jazz
goin 'on and I want her to be there right with me.
If we get up we gotta do a little step or two,
we'll be alright.
(audience cheering)
- Alright Esau, give me three thing you'd like
to have in common with your partner.
- That spark is so important,
I want to have that spark in common.
Fun times, let's go dance, let's go to a movie,
let's go to an art exhibit, let's go for a walk.
And fashion, I love fashion, we can be in fashion together.
So we step out we look like one.
- Sounds good too.
- Same question for you.
- First of all, spirituality.
Notice I didn't say religious, I want a women
who has a spiritual spark to her.
I lead a spiritual conversation,
so I need a woman who is spiritual.
But then there's another side of me.
Because I'm a man, I need a woman
who likes to get out, socialize.
I love to dance, I'm a Chicago style stepper.
I'm from Chicago so I love to move around.
I'm not a contest dancer, but I like
to give my woman a good dance.
And the other thing I like to do is I like to read,
so it's important that the person who I am considering
have a desire to read and expand her mind through reading.
(audience clapping)
- Okay, sounds good.
(audience chanting)
- Imma let the audience help you out.
We got Charles on the end, we got Esau
on the middle, and we got Greg.
Who thinks that Charles would be a good match?
(audience cheering)
Who thinks that Esau would be a good match?
(audience clapping)
Who thinks that Gregory's a good pick?
(audience cheering)
It's time to pick, the answers is vibrant.
They are who they say they are.
You can't really make a mistake.
- I guess Greg.
(audience cheering)
- Gregory, congratulations.
You step on over here and introduce
yourself to her properly.
Y'all have a good time, thank y'all best of luck.
