This is your fun ride up to Gaia restaurant.
You'll love it.
Hi, hi.
We bump into each other a lot.
Oh, I'm sorry, I put my hand on your butt.
That's okay, I kind of like it.
Well, here we are, happy hour at Gaia.
Round two.
We've already had one cocktail and we're one hit wonders
here.
So, Coconut Margarita is really, really, yummy.
You can have more than one.
I'm going to have the Guanabana. The Guanabana.
I love Guanabana.
Can I taste your Guanabana?
Yes, you can.
What's so amazing about Costa Rica is the fabulous fruit (oh yeah), and there's such
a variety.
Thing s you've never had before, like Guanabana.
The flavors are so amazing.
La Luna Restaurant turns them into these tropical,
exotic cocktails that you've never had elsewhere.
Exactly.
So, it's really cool.
And, they taste actually fresh.
You can really taste the flavors of the fruit.
Um, yeah, I could go on and on about the vegetables
and the fruits here are amazing.
And, so we're into (and the fish), well at least I'm into, I'm
a very healthy person, so I'm into healthy cocktails.
Guanabanas fruit and whatever that gives you.
I'm ready to take it.
And then, coconuts actually are really (good for you), yeah exactly.
Did you know that back, I could be lying.
But that's okay, sometimes, I transform my
truth.
I heard (that's a nice way of putting it).
I heard that a long time ago, when they didn't, for blood transfusion
during the war, um, I don't which war.
But I heard that they used coconut milk (water), coconut water for blood, for plasma.
Yeah, exactly, so I'm not making that up?
Right?
No, you're not making it up.
Yeah, so actually, and it's a good hangover drink.
Right?
Well, I don't know…
Okay, maybe that one I'm making it up.
I don't drink enough to have hangovers. (She's lying.)
So what kind of tapas do you want?
I, you know what I, my very favorite tapa here is
the medallions, the Tuna Medallions (ooh, that sounds yummy), seared with
the sesame, encrusted in sesame.
Okay, so let's try that one.
Okay.
That sounds yummy and if we want more we can get
more.
Oh, the Chicken Satay, good chicken.
That's good too.
Oh, let's do that, so one each.
We would like a Coconut Margarita for me and I would
like the Guanabana Cilantro frozen margarita and we would also like the
medallions.
Tuna Medallions?
Tuna Medallions.
And what is your, oh your name is there.
Jendrie.
Thank you.
Are you ready for your tapas?
Umm, we're just going to have the tuna.
Yes, to share, or you want to order for tuna?
Oh, you know if we're going do two different ones, um, maybe
we'll do the Chicken Satay.
Is that what you recommend?
Yeah!
Okay?
Do you need anything else or is that it?
That's it, we're just here for happy hour.
Thank you.
Thank you.
So, one thing I love about La Luna restaurant, is well actually
there's a few things.
But, it's like wonderful service.
High class.
If you're planning on spending one special
occasion type of dinner, this is the place.
You know, they have wonderful happy hours if you want to keep
it low budget.
But they also have an amazing dinner.
Five-star service.
And actually, they are the reason they have a reserve here.
They are the reason that the Scarlet Macaws came back to Manuel Antonio.
They started this program about five years ago.
Right, a reintroduction program because they use to be here, and they
disappeared like in the 70's.
And so, it's thing, you can go down and see the reserve where.
Well talk to your concierge or if you're staying at the Discovery Beach
House, let me help you plan this because if they have babies, it's not
open all the time because we don't want to stress them out.
They want to keep them kind of in the wild but even if
you don't come and visit them here, you actually, you can see them around
town now, which is amazing.
Which a long time ago there was no Scarlet Macaws and now you'll be
driving down the road and you'll see two beautiful, and they always
travel in pairs.
They mate for life.
Yeah, so it's really amazing.
They are like (magical), nature's canvas or paint
brush.
Their colors are just so brilliant.
They're breath taking.
Actually, every time I see a Scarlet Macaw.
My world stops.
I have to stop and watch them until they disappear.
Which, sometimes when you're driving is not so good.
Well, I stop the car!
The person behind her, not so happy.
I'm just kidding.
No but seriously, that's one thing that's beautiful about Manuel
Antonio.
Out of all the places that I travel throughout Costa Rica is
that we the abundance of wild life that just kind of like blends right
into, you know, us.
You know, within the homes, within, you know we co
-exist with nature so well.
The ecosystem as you can see, we have the Gaia, is this beautiful ocean view.
Great sunset view.
And because we are so close to the equator, actually the
sun moves around throughout the year.
So, it's great to talk to your concierge, or to me if you're
staying at the Discovery Beach House, to find out kind of which
restaurants are getting the best sunset views during which time of year.
It changes.
They're happy hours or live music, or specials also change.
We as concierges always talk to our guests to kind of feed, to keep up
-to-date, and we try to experience things as much as possible.
The hiccups in Costa Rica.
I'll hold your hair like you were barfing.
Somebody's, your girlfriend, has got to hold your hair and then you got
to lean forward.
And, then breathe out.
Let me hold your earrings.
And then, I'm going to drink all your drink
(ut oh).
That's hard to do.
It's probably just concentrating, focusing so much on getting your lower
lip here.
Exactly and then you've got to breathe out, which I forgot to
do.
But that gets rid of your hiccups.
My hiccups are gone, and I just (see) watched you.
Oh, look, the appetizers are coming.
Your Tuna Medallions.
Oh, that looks beautiful.
And, your Chicken Satay.
Wonderful.
Thank you so much.
Gracias.
Can I get you anything else?
I think we're good.
Thank you.
For joining us today at La Luna Restaurant at the Gaia Hotel Reserve and we just love this place,
the food, the exotic cocktails, the view.
You just can't miss, you've got to come here when you
come to Manuel Antonio.
What about you?
Yeah, no I love this place.
It's one of my favorite places to recommend to
families, as I said.
Especially for special occasions, or just happy hour.
Please be sure to visit our website at DiscoveryBeachouse.com.
And, here, we can toast tuna.
Toast tunas.
Pura Vida.
Oh, she ate the piece that I was looking, I was waiting for.
I want to dip it.
