 It's always a strange feeling when Arsenal and Spurs draw each other in one of the cup competitions

 On one hand there is the excitement of having another north London derby to look forward to, but then there is also the associated nausea that comes with having to endure another game against your rivals from down the Seven Sisters

 Wednesday night's Carabao Cup quarter-final draw means that Unai Emery and Mauricio Pochettino will square off two times in under three weeks next weeks next month, with both games taking place at the Emirates

 The league game on December 2 will see both sides undoubtedly field a full strength XI, but things could be very different for the cup game, which will be staged in the week starting December 17th

 Arsenal and Spurs meeting in a cup clash is nothing new, we've seen it happen plenty of times in the past decade

There have been two semi-final meetings in the League Cup, with Arsenal winning the first and Spurs the second

 Then there was the FA Cup third round tie at the Emirates which went the way of the Gunners and the League Cup game in 2010 when Sami Nasri led Tottenham a merry dance as Arsene Wenger's side thumped their rivals 4-1 at White Hart Lane

 The most recent cup meeting came in 2015 when Arsenal were again celebrating at their home of their neighbours thanks to an unlikely hero in Mathieu Flamini, who scored both goals in a 2-1 success, with the second a volley in front of the away fans that will long live in the memory

 "The two goals were for them, said Flamini afterwards, as he dedicated his matching winning double to the fans

 "They've always supported me, they've all been behind me and they've played a big role in my career

 "It was important for me to celebrate with them and nobody else."  The team that Wenger fielded that night at White Hart Lane was an interesting one

Just as it will be next month, the build up to the game was dominated by what sort of side the Frenchman would pick

 Would he continue to give his star names a rest or would he bring them back because of who Arsenal were facing and what the match meant to the fans?  Ultimately, Wenger stuck to what he had been doing in the competition, he again gave his fringe players a chance - although he did sprinkle in some regular first team starters while also packing the bench with firepower

 Flamini was joined by the likes of Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers, Joel Campbell and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the starting XI

With Olivier Giroud and Per Mertesacker also starting and Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Nacho Monreal and Theo Walcott on the bench

 Sanchez was introduced midway through the second half soon after Spurs had cancelled out Flamini's opener, while Walcott came on in the final minute to help wind down the clock and see the game out

 So Wenger stuck to his guns somewhat, despite the stature of the game and opponents, and looking ahead to December's quarter-final, Emery will more than likely follow suit

 He was forced to field a couple of makeshift options against Blackpool on Tuesday night because of injury issues, with Carl Jenkinson filling in at left-back and Julio Pleguezuelo making his senior debut alongside Shkodran Mustafi in the heart of defence

 But with both Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac expected to be fit well before the quarter-final, Emery will be have far more strength on offer to him at left-back against Spurs and Laurent Koscielny could even be back to offer another option at centre-back

 The strength of Arsenal's squad now means whatever changes Emery makes, it will still be a strong side that he selects and we've seen so far this season, both in the Carabao Cup and the Europa League, that he will have a strong bench capable of coming on and changing the game

 Stephan Lichtsteiner, who scored against Blackpool, is a staple of the cup side while one of the either Sokratis or Mustafi have been called upon in every game so far and that will no doubt continue against Spurs

 Matteo Guendouzi and Emile Smith Rowe appear certainties to start, should they be fit, and it could be that Lucas Torreira might get the nod to add a bit of steal and strength to the midfield

 Alexandre Lacazette scored against Brentford in the third round and Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang was introduced in the second half against Blackpool so the signs are that at least one of the club's star strikers will be involved against Spurs, as will the likes of Danny Welbeck and Henrik Mkhitaryan in what will be a strong frontline

 So although there will be a clamour for Emery to go all out just because it is Tottenham, it has to be taken into account that the game comes right at the start of the hugely demanding festive schedule

 Emery has used just the right level of balance between the cup competitions and the Premier League so far this season

He has changed things round to keep things fresh, but it hasn't been wholesale changes and there is no reason to really divert too drastically from that tactic next month just because Tottenham are the opponents - as Wenger proved in 2015

Hi everyone I'm Karl Yeh, welcome to another Homebuyer's School video, a

channel where you get the latest strategies tactics and tips from home

Kurt Gibson, Director of field operations with Brookfield Residential, and the

question we're going to answer today is, what is kiln dried lumber and how is it

part of a new home?

- Well kiln dried lumber is a process you go through to bring lumber from

from the forest to a job site, and often you know—you got a tree and you gotta

cut it down and you've gotta mill it and put it in to process and essentially what

happens is, they basically put it in a large oven and the basically it gets

moisture content removed out of it for most kinds, and the normal range for

moisture content is they want to get it down between 18-19 percent—

again depending on the climate we're in, it'll go up or go down where it's at, but the

idea is to get kiln dried lumber so you have it usable on a worksite.

I think there's some real myths to that. Some of the myths are people think there

is never any twisting, and warping that can occur. I will say that it's very common

that that can happen, but it is to help reduce that. If you took obviously

material right out of the forest, you'd have tremendous warping and twisting.

So it's trying to help reduce that | in a lot of cases.

- So is it any kind of lumber? So when you talk about kiln dried lumber, so it could

be any type of tree that could be used?

Yeah, I mean obviously there's gotta be a more thorough process for if you're using

wood on kitchen cabinet doors or you gotta use it for hardwood flooring—

typically on a hardwood floor or cabinet doors it would be as low as 6 percent

and so you're getting that down a lot more because it's more of a finished

product. It makes a substantial difference on that, and you know when I

mentioned that the 13-19 percent, that is mostly lumber. If you have like I said,

finishing material or cabinets, it's going to be a lot lower than that.

- So when you talk about 13-19 percent, what does that mean?

- It's basically the amount of moisture content, or probably the easiest way to

say is the water content you have in the product, so they're really trying to reduce

it, I mean obviously—like a lot of us— human beings we have a lot of water

and those trees have a lot of water and they're trying to reduce that down.

In a Calgary climate, it'll be very dry and you want to reduce it—

- You want to reduce it a little bit lower? Okay.

- But sometimes people want—like if you got hardwood floors, you want to have a

certain level of moisture because—again it's a living organism even through it's

dry, it's taken out of the tree, you still want to have a moisture content in there

to give it its best health.

- Oh, okay. So let's say for example, if the lumber is going to Vancouver, or let's say

somewhere where it's going to be a little bit more wet, I guess the content—the

water content will be a little bit higher?

- It can be, it can be designed like that for sure. Because obviously, it's like anything

else I mean, wood is like any product, you want to make sure it's comfortable in its

surroundings, and it'll adapt and that sort of thing. And when you're building a

house and you're putting it all together, it does take a while for it to adapt. But

you're right, it depends on the climate. There are certain products like a

hardwood floor in Calgary, you probably don't want to put like a bamboo floor in

because it requires such a high moisture content and it's just—what's gonna

happen is you're gonna get cupping, or you're going to get shrinkage and

cracking on that material so it's not a great product to put in Calgary—where

you know, a regular hardwood floor with maple floors is much better because it's

a harder product.

- And I think the big question here is, does this type of lumber actually

absorb moisture?

- Every wood still absorbs moisture, it always does. It's trying to find the right

balance so that it performs in the right way, I mean that's always the key

that they're trying to get to by having that kiln counter on number that they're

trying to achieve, whether it's a finished product or whether it's a raw lumber

is what they're trying to do to make sure it performs in the right way so—

I mean there's always air content or water content in the air.

- So one last question, I know we in previous videos we talked about

engineered hardwood, does that have anything to do with a kiln dried lumber?

Well engineered hardwood—typically there's a a small top layer that's—still has

a wood. It's not as like—the whole hardwood is typically 3 quarter inch thick

and the engineered hardwood has a small top layer, so it can still be affected

by it, but it's generally not as conducive to the moisture issues because it also

has a manufactured substrate that stops it from warping or cracking and stuff to.

- Perfect, do you have anything else to add?

- No I don't.

of it this is part of my morning routine that is part of my ordinary day that is

part of my dream life yes this is the day one journey me talking to you this

is a thing that I'm seeing myself doing for the rest of my life why

because I want to live my dream life and that is part of my dream life so in the

next episodes I will share with you all about my morning routine and maybe you

can take these ideas and implement them in your morning routine

the morning routine is so important for me and also in the day one journey

it stands in the core of the day one mentality because it's not just day one

it's the day one journey it's the day one but every day that's the thing it's

the day one but it's every day that's it. you might say why every day why

why do I need to do it every day you might say I'll tell you a secret

you don't need to do it at all you do it if you want to do if you want to stay in

bed stay in bed don't do anything I have a small sense

that sometimes you want to get up and do something but that's up to you you don't

need to do anything but still you might ask me why every day why not do it

every other day why not do it every week or every month or every year or why not

do that just when I need to do that amazing questions why a day why

not every hour I give you my thoughts about that and you might think about

that later why every day think about it we live day in and day out we go to

sleep and wake up to a new day we don't wake up to for a new hour we don't wake

up for a new week or for a new month or for new year we wake up for a new

morning for a new day that's why we take the day as the basic unit for life not

the minutes or seconds or hours or years

or weeks or months we take the day

think about it if you do something every day that's your

real routine that routine that you don't think about you just wake up in the

morning and you brush your teeth you don't think about that these are the

stuff that we are going to talk about they might be difficult stuff

they might be challenging stuff that you can do every day but once you do the

enough it gets into a habit because if you want a habit the best advice is to

do it every day because that's the basic of time because you wake up for a new

day not for a new week we are out of time so tomorrow I'll

start sharing with you many ideas about things that you can do every day you can

implement them and apply them in your morning routine and you can just start a

morning routine it will take at least I think 10 episodes but back to you

I want you to think about the stuff that you might used to do every day and

now you no longer do them it's like the lost routine the things that you did

every day they weren't that easy but you did enjoy doing them and they helped you

to accomplish so many other things think of one of these habits just one of these

habits but don't think why you stopped nobody care about that nobody cares

about that think about one of these lost daily habits that you had that helped

you in the past think about one of those choose one and just do them just do them

today treat today as day one for you to get back on track on one of these

healthy habits that you once had and you really enjoy them

so until tomorrow do that habit and have an amazing amazing day one

How to Know What to Say to Your Ex - Clay Andrews - Duration: 5:26.

Hey there, it's Clay with ModernLove.life and this is Relationship Inner Game.

Now this video is going to be video number four in our series on how to connect better

emotionally with your ex.

In the previous couple of videos we've gone over how to get your to talk to you again,

what to talk to your ex about, and how to act around your ex. and in this particular

video we're going to be talking about what to say to your ex.

Now, of course there are many different sorts of things that you could say to your ex and

all sorts of different sorts of circumstances, but building off of everything that we have

talked about thus far, it is important for you to realize that there isn't just like

a simple word-for-word script that you can say to make your ex love you again or something

like that.

And even if there was, it would just get you back into the old kind of relationship that

you had before and then you would just break up again.

For whatever reason that you broke up in the first place.

You weren't paying enough attention to her.

You were complaining too much to him and blah, blah, blah.

All that stuff.

Right?

What's important to know is that you have to be able to feel into the moment to know

what the right thing to say to your ex is, and that's what a lot of the things that we've

already talked about in this series will help you do.

You really need to understand where your ex is at emotionally and you have to be willing

to be completely honest and forthright and transparent about what your intentions are

and how you're feeling because that builds trust with your ex.

Now, when it comes to actual words that you say, a lot of that will take care of itself.

If you have gone through the work that we've already talked about in the previous videos,

but there are a couple of simple things that are important when it comes to what to actually

say to your ex.

So for example, one of the most important things is that you want to really own your

own statements.

You want to own your own feelings.

Oftentimes people will say things like, "You made me feel bad," "You are causing me to

lose sleep because of this breakup," or things like that.

And what that does is that really shoves off responsibility to someone else.

And if you're that someone else, then you're going to start to feel upset and start to

distance yourself emotionally from that person because that interaction that you're having

with them feels bad on an emotional level.

So what you really want to do is you want, you own what it is that you're saying.

So for example, instead of "You're making me feel bad because of this breakup."

You might say something like, "I feel really bad thinking about the fact that the two of

us broke up," and although that might seem like just inconsequential word choice, it

really does have a big impact because what's going to happen is your ex isn't going to

take on this sort of defensive mode around you and closed themselves off.

They're going to actually be able to still stay open enough to actually listen to you

and hear you out.

And just using the small little conversational things like that can really help you to keep

your ex open and receptive and to help you get your point across in a way that your ex

will actually build a positive interaction with you.

And again, that's really what all of this is about.

It's about having these positive emotional interactions with each other.

Now, of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg about what you could say to your ex,

but you know, there's a whole lot more that I actually want to share with you.

so hi through this video we are going to look at the day-to-day problems and how

we can come up with systems to solve those problems for example I remember

some years back I had gone out of my home and there were plants which needed

watering but I did not have a solution to this so until I was just wondering if

only I had a system which could take care of my plants when I am away from

home sometimes when I go out of my home there are elderly people who are not

able to communicate with me so I just thought like if again there was a system

which could communicate on their behalf and tell me about the well-being of the

people I am sure such incidences or such things happen to many people around us

day-to-day and we feel that there should be some systems or some help from

electronics systems that we can use in order to solve these problems then as a

teacher I interact with so many students every day and then they have some

wonderful ideas which they wish to implement but again they are not having

that much of knowledge to implement those or maybe they are not aware of

what are the things that are available by which they can implement their ideas

at the same time I also interact with students who are in their final years or

they want they again they have some great ideas through which they want to

have their own startup so basically some idea which you want to implement but you

are not aware of how to implement that in technical terms we call this as a

prototype so we want to build a prototype but we want to do it

fast we want to do it at a very low cost so that we are not spending too

much on it and at the same time that idea is getting converted into the

solution which we require for us now when you are building any system any

such system which is going to solve a particular problem electronic system the

at the heart of any system not only electronic if you look at our bodies the

system that is controlling the entire functioning of our body is the brain

right so when we say that the main brain is controlling our actions and we are

doing certain actions according to what we require that system we call it as an

intelligent system so similarly in electronic systems as well there are

there is an intelligent part or a device which will be controlling all the other

components and other devices in that particular system now who does this

function of the intelligent system so that is in electronic terms it is a

microprocessor or a microcontroller now there are so many varieties of these

intelligent systems available for example if you just Google

microprocessor the word microprocessor you will get 3 crore hits within some

seconds at the same time if you google microcontroller you will get 10 lakh

sorry 10 crores of hits within seconds so how do you decide which

microcontroller or which microprocessor should I use for prototyping or for

building or implementing the idea that I want to implement so don't worry there

is a better and a simpler solution to for your problem and that is using the

system or the board which is known as the Arduino board now this Arduino board

has become very very popular very and many people now all over the world are

using these boards now what why do we use these Arduino boards the first

and the most important reason is that it is an open source hardware I mean you

don't have when you are buying the Arduino board you don't have to pay any license

fee for that so you can come up with your system at a very low cost at the

same time it is very very easy to write the coding for that particular board if

you consider say other microcontrollers naturally you have to learn you have to

go through the entire process of learning the programming part of that

and it's not very easy but this Arduino board it is very easy to program the board so

software part is taken care of at the same time when you consider the hardware

of the Arduino board the people at the Arduino board have developed this board

so that it can be used even by a hobbyist

even by a person who is or even by school children by a person who has no

knowledge no ABC of electronic systems so it is as easy as that

at the same time they are available in many versions from low end to the high

end so all your requirements are taken care of and they are easily available or

throughout in the market so I if I want to buy a Arduino board just know I can

get it online or I can go to a hardware shop and it is available there so these

are the advantages again when you are writing the Code for the Arduino board

naturally we are going to use either a desktop or a laptop for writing the code

and we use what is called as a development environment now this

development environment of the Arduino for that you don't need a particular

operating system in your desktop or laptop for example for some environments

you need you need to have a Windows in your laptop for some you need to have

some other systems but here for the Arduino you may use it is we call it as

a cross platform that is you can have any operating

system and you can write the code for the Arduino so it has the advantage of

being easy on the software part as well as easy on easy and fast on the hardware

implementation as well so these are the some of the advantages that Arduino

board have and so what we recommend on what I would suggest that if you are a

hobbyist if you are a school goer you want to have builds or some system you

have some fantastic idea and you want to implement that idea in a very you know

less time and inexpensive way at the same time if you are a student who want

to implement maybe a engineering student as well if you want to implement your

idea faster cheaper and you don't want to spend too much time writing the code

and you are maybe some people you know they when it comes to electronic systems

or even when we say that these are also called as embedded systems students are

you know very of that they feel that no I am NOT able to do that they they don't

have confidence on because they say that I am not good at coding but for Arduino

the coding is so simple that you don't have to be a expert coder in order to

write the code for that so you can build your system with the Arduino board

in a very fast way simple way and spending to not much from your pocket so

that is the reason why I would suggest you use your use the Arduino board and

another advantage is that the software as well as the hardware know for example

if you are saying that you are going to have your own prototype you want to have

your own startup then it's if even if you use that in the Arduino board it is open

source you can use the hardware and you can make changes in the hardware as well

as a software part and implement your system so it's something like you know a

solution not only at a lower level its for I would say it's a solution that

can be used for at all the levels but at the same time yes I would also say that

if you are a for a startup this proof of concept level using the

Arduino board is fine if you are an engineering student using

this for no just implementing your idea is fine

but if you want to multiply like for example if you come up this idea works

okay you show the proof of concept to the Arduino and then you want to build

you want to multiply your product you want to know market your product or you

want to come up with your own solution then I would recommend that for

prototyping you use the Arduino and then using your knowledge you can build your

own system using the microcontrollers or the microprocessors available design

your whole system there are other methods which you can use for example

you can simulate it using the online simulations and then you can go for the

actual designing and implementing it with the actual hardware so this is what

What is up my friend, Christina here with nursingschoolofsuccess.com and today we are

talking all about the hormone aldosterone.

So aldosterone is a hormone that is released by the adrenal glands.

And the adrenal glands sit ontop of the kidneys.

So sometimes you might hear that the kidneys release aldosterone, that's really only half

true - slash - not really true at all.

Aldosterone is really released by the adrenal glands, and the adrenal glands are ontop of

the kidneys.

And aldosterone plays a huge role in balancing fluids and electrolytes in the body, particularly

by regulating fluid volume, sodium and potassium levels.

So, there are 4 key things I want you to know about aldosterone: Number 1: it is released

if the blood pressure or volume gets too low, OR if there is some disease causing it to

release when it's not supposed to; Number 2: it causes the kidneys to hold onto water;

Number 3: it causes the kidneys to hold onto sodium; and number 4: it causes the kidneys

to get rid of potassium.

Now let's do some critical thinking around this so we can really understand what's happening.

So when the blood volume in the body is low, and the blood pressure is lower, aldosterone

is stimulated to be released.

And when aldosterone is released it has 3 main actions: It causes the kidneys to hold

onto water; it causes the kidneys to hold onto sodium; and it causes the kidneys to

get rid of potassium.

So when aldosterone is released, the fluid and sodium levels are going to rise, and the

potassium level is going to drop.

Does that make sense?

Because aldosterone tells the kidneys to hold onto more water and sodium, and get rid of

potassium.

Now, let's talk about the flip side to all of this.

What do you think will happen if there is TOO MUCH fluid volume in the body already?

Aldosterone will be inhibited, yes!

Because, aldosterone's job is to keep sodium and water in the body, but when there's already

too much fluid in the body, it doesn't need any more.

So aldosterone shouldn't be released.

So, make sure to remember those 4 things about aldosterone: It is released if the blood pressure

or volume gets too low, OR if there is some disease causing it to release when it's not

supposed to; It causes the kidneys to hold onto water; it causes the kidneys to hold

onto sodium; and it causes the kidneys to get rid of potassium.

And that is the role of aldosterone in the body.

Once again, we are seeing entitled, high-paid celebrities lecturing Americans.

With the midterms coming up, talk show hosts and TV actors are demanding that people go

out and vote, for Democrats.

They condemn conservatives and President Donald Trump, accusing him of one vile act.

But they conveniently leave out the fact that the real crime was committed by Barack Obama.

Why do Hollywood celebrities think we care about their opinions?

Every election year, it's the same thing.

These spoiled, out-of-touch elitists became rich and famous, after peddling smut.

Hollywood traffics in the celebration of crime, drug abuse, sexual immorality, and even rape

and murder.

They get rich from movies and shows that revel in the very worst of human behavior.

Yet when an election rolls around, they have the audacity to accuse us of being immoral

— if we vote against their party.

In 2016, Hollywood liberals all but ordered us to elect a corrupt, terrible woman to the

highest office of the land.

When America refused, celebrities ranted like spoiled babies.

They couldn't believe that we refused to obey their demands.

Now, after two years of unprecedented success from the Trump administration, liberals are

at it again.

They are trying everything to manipulate Americans into electing more Democrats into office.

A group of well-known TV stars made a video, urging people to vote for liberals.

In the video, they don't promise that Democrats will do anything for Americans.

Instead, they slander President Trump — a man not even running for reelection this year.

They attack the Commander in Chief, accusing him of a variety of wrongdoings.

But the biggest wrong they accuse him of was, in fact, something Obama did all the time

— for years.

They never seemed to be upset about it, back then.

Now, they seem to have forgotten all about that.

Another group of Hollywood celebrities has come out with a get out the vote ad, this

time driving a left-wing message attacking President Donald Trump for "keeping children

in cages," despite the fact that the same immigration policy was implemented during

the Obama era.

The ad features actors such as Andy Ritcher of Conan O'Brien late-night show fame, The

Big Bang Theory's Simon Helberg and Melissa Rauch, Bradley Whitford from the series The

West Wing, commercial actress Milana Vayntrub, and several others urging people to vote…

Why should we vote?

Well, according to these stars we are "fighting" against Russian bots, voting to secure "a

woman's right to choose" (as long as they don't choose life), and fighting against

"our government keeping children in cages."

Of course, none of the stars mention that this policy of detaining children brought

here illegally by foreign migrants is a policy that has been around since the late 1990s

and that Barack Obama also kept "children in cages" as their status was cleared up.

It's amazing how these people can throw down the guilt trip.

They aren't interested in the very valid reasons Americans voted for Trump — and

will vote for Republicans.

Hollywood celebrities are blind to the fact that Democrats have betrayed the working and

middle classes.

Obama and the rest allowed millions of blue and white collar jobs to bleed overseas.

Democrats welcome millions of illegal immigrants who take American jobs.

Democrats divide our country with identity politics.

They accuse regular Americans of being racist, just because they care about their families.

Not to mention the fact that Democratic policies would raise taxes, burden millions with government

"benefits," and drive jobs and opportunity from communities.

No, Hollywood just wants you to march to their orders, no questions asked.

They want you to be upset that Trump "keeps children in cages."

Except the smoking gun photos of immigrant kids in cages was from the Obama era.

Nor do they acknowledge that immigrant children detained are safer, because they were previously

being exploited by human smugglers and sex traffickers.

I guess those facts didn't fit this video.

Hollywood liberals don't care about everyday Americans.

They won't get hurt when Democrats force the minimum wage so high that companies go

out of business.

Celebrities won't get hurt if taxes soar through the roof.

Nor will they suffer when millions of aliens flood our borders.

They live in nice gated communities, after all.

Perhaps these actors should stick to telling stupid jokes on their TV shows.

What it's like traveling with Meghan and Harry: Reporter's Notebook - Duration: 9:50.

The last time I went on an official trip with someone important, it was with the Pope to Myanmar and Bangladesh around this time last year

I said then that being part of the "bubble" was rather like being on a high school trip

On and off buses; people shouting instructions; your time rarely your own. But this time, it was a whole new ball game

If you could enter school trips into sporting competitions, the one with the Pope would have perhaps been a regional tournament -- pretty high paced but not massively taxing

The trip with Meghan and Harry, by contrast, was Olympic in its scale and difficulty: 16 days across 4 countries, with 76 separate engagements

We were constantly against the clock, with palace officials as referees, standing over us with whistles and timers as we raced between planes -- nearly 20 flights in total -- buses, boats and taxis, hauling our equipment as we went

Granted, the Duke and Duchess travel in some comfort, but this must have been grueling for them too -- particularly pregnant Meghan

The news of a baby Sussex came on the eve of the trip -- we heard the news huddled around a speakerphone in a Sydney government office

This only kicked the whole thing into overdrive, and as the days wore on and our exhaustion made us increasingly manic, the fits of laughter at the live position every night with brilliant colleagues Bruno Roeber and James Gillings only became more contagious

"Good Morning America" was on between midnight and 2 a.m., depending on time differences -- a bit of a killer

It is seeing the palace relationship with the press up close that has perhaps been most interesting for me

As someone who doesn't cover the royals full time, I was consistently fascinated by those who do

It's an amusingly love-hate relationship. The royal family needs journalists, as travelling to the other side of the planet hardly would be worth anyone's time if no one was there to document it

But they are very wary of us -- especially Harry, who's antipathy for the press following his mother's death is well documented

The tabloids were not kind to him in his 20s, and the unrelenting interest in his new wife makes him understandably guarded

There were two incidents on the tour that demonstrated why they do sometimes hold us at arm's length

The first was at a market in Fiji. The visit by the Duchess was one of her first truly solo engagements, and she was there to meet women who've been helped by a U

N. project. Her interest in female empowerment and the powerful symbol of a mixed-race royal in the Commonwealth made it a popular event

But too many people came, and within about 10 minutes of her arrival, she already was being whisked away by her aides -- to her own personal frustration, it seemed to us

The palace called it "crowd control," but some among the press preferred the term "security scare," and almost immediately the drama became amplified for no reason

The losers? The sweet, gentle Fijians at the market who'd waited hours to see Meghan who'd now been cast as a threat

The second incident came on the royal charter from Tonga to Sydney. There was a plane on the runway that hadn't moved away quickly enough, and the pilot pulled up to come around again -- a perfectly routine maneuver called a "missed approach" -- that might have seemed dramatic but simply wasn't

Nevertheless, breathless reporting of a "near miss" was beamed out around the globe

It occurred to me that these issues might be part of the reason the palace keeps journalists at a distance

I saw the pope up close more often than I did Meghan and Harry on this trip. That sounds like a punchline, but it's literally true

Perhaps the relationship between press and palace will change with time -- perhaps Meghan will be the one to bridge the gap

Despite this, the trip was successful. There are moments I will remember forever -- the thousands of Tongan children welcoming the royal convoy along the route from the airport, the moving greetings Harry and Meghan received from Maori elders in New Zealand

The couple's obvious concern for mental health initiatives was very powerful. Watching them on Bondi beach with people discussing their problems, we saw Harry speak with -- and listen to -- every member of the group

When a small boy in Auckland told him his mother had taken her life, he made him feel special, using his own experience to lift the boy up

The tens of thousands of young people who tuned out, positively shaking with excitement at the prospect of meeting the glamorous pair, showed why a Commonwealth in which 60 percent are younger than 30 needs its new youth ambassador and his wife not afraid to speak their minds

Above all, this tour showed the world what Meghan and Harry will be about in their lives as working royals

Many often ask what purpose Britain's royal family serves, and I think the couple have answered that question loud and clear

There were big themes on this tour -- above all, conservation, youth empowerment and mental health -- something I take a particular interest in

These are issues that affect us all and should be above politics. But they often aren't

Harry and Meghan -- along with William and Kate -- are serious about tackling them

If our politicians fail us, then at least we have these powerful advocates to help lead the way
