Hi, I'm Chris from Roger and Chris.

And I'm here today to answer an important question for ya,

Should I feel bad about myself

for buying a neutral colored sofa?

Maybe a little bit, but not too much,

and let me explain why.

I love colorful sofas.

If you look at our website you can see

that we do a lot of them.

Part of that is because if you want a purple

Chesterfield sofa,

there aren't a whole lot of places to get one.

We do those.

However, we make a lot of brown sofas and gray sofas

and beige sofas, and I'll tell you why.

In the end, a piece of a furniture like a sofa

or a sectional, it's a lot of volume in your room.

And it can really dominate a space.

So while I love colorful stuff

and we certainly have a lot of customers who want

to go with something very, very bold,

there are a lot of instances where

that may not be appropriate.

I don't think that going with something neutral

means that you're boring.

I don't think you should feel bad about that.

I think what you should do is focus on how else

you're going to use color in that room.

And that can kind of come in in a few different ways.

Maybe you have floors that have a strong undertone to them

and you just don't think that an emerald green

is gonna work with a cherry floor.

You're right, it will not.

Maybe you have a beautiful rug

that you would like to feature.

Maybe you have really strongly colorful artwork

or draperies or really love throw pillows

or wanna mix things in or do accent chairs.

There are a million reasons why a neutral sofa

may be a better fit for your room

than something more colorful.

I think what you need to consider is also the longevity

of this piece of furniture.

We work with a lot of folks who are absolutely in love

with strong colors.

They know they're gonna want it forever.

And that's good, 'cause these sofas will last a long time.

If you're not certain about that

or if you're worried about trends and things like that,

gosh, I think going neutral can make a lotta sense.

Because you can vary everything else around the sofa,

knowing that sofa's gonna be with you for the long haul.

So then you focus on throw pillows.

Maybe you change them out every six months or every year.

Maybe you freshen things up,

maybe you change around the art in your home,

put down a new rug once in a while.

I think there are a lot of circumstances,

particularly with our furniture that does last a long time,

and the leathers and fabrics that we work with

that are designed to just keep lookin' great

even if you spill wine on 'em once in a while.

Yeah, I think going that direction is not a bad idea.

Hey, look at what Roger and I have done in our homes.

You know we talk about colorful stuff

and we certainly do it, but a lot of times,

we also do black or a neutral brown,

or you know, off-white.

So you know, we kinda do the same thing.

I think that's perfectly fine.
