what do you think the difference is between motivation and inspiration do

you think there is a difference what if I told you that the reason that people

don't reach their long-term goals is because of the difference between

motivation and inspiration welcome back my name is John and if you are new here

this channel is for motivation it is for inspiration it's for those of you who

are looking for like-minded people in which to share your experiences he out

here on YouTube and in life and if that sounds like your kind of thing please

make sure you click that red subscribe button click that bell so you get

notified each and every time I upload new content if you like this video

please make sure you hit that thumbs up so because of the purpose of this

channel I talk about motivation and inspiration quite a bit they come up a

lot in my personal life but I see them out on YouTube being used almost

interchangeably as though they're the same word with the new years rolling

around we all know that everyone starts to get amped up they start setting goals

I know that I do they rarely pan out I just like to do that at the end of the

year and we all know that there are tons of memes tons of jokes that people just

kind of smile and laugh off all of these goals and things that they're gonna do

for the next year but why is that why do we all find it funny when we just all

arbitrarily set goals at the beginning of each year why do you think so many

weight loss goals are not hit and so many gym memberships go unused I believe

it is because motivation comes from an external source and inspiration comes

from deep with inside of you and look all of us need motivation and

inspiration at some point in our life to get us to whatever goal we're trying to

get to see for me ultra running is something that I'm inspired to do it is

inside of me it is part of who I am and I don't need to be inspired or pushed

into doing that motivation is what helps me get up and do the thing get up every

single day and and come down to the basement and run and do the things at

the eleven o'clock at night you know running 10 miles at 11 o'clock at night

or 12 o'clock at night that takes motivation I have to get myself amped up

I need to watch something I need to get myself really kind of just pumped up to

do that it's a completely different thing than being inspired to do

something literally the difference between motivation and inspiration is

motivation is something that you feel that you need to do like I need to come

down at the basement to run or I'm going to be hurting in that race inspiration

is doing something I truly want to do what

run the race that's the difference I'm inspired to run the race I don't need to

be motivated to do that I need to be motivated to do the thing we all need to

be motivated to do the little short term goals every single day we need to get to

that long-term goal whatever it is we need to do you know college you have to

break that off in small parts but you need motivation to kind of push you

through those smaller parts you need to be inspired to do it to to even sign up

to go through with the thing motivation refers to the act of stimulating someone

to act in a definite way to achieve a goal inspiration is the act of

influencing someone whether it be through emotions or something deep

inside of them to achieve a goal and like I said motivation is usually gonna

kind of be a short-term thing I need to be motivated in short spurts to do the

things that I got to do every single day to get to my longer-term goal

inspiration really is that long-term everlasting pulling force that is

usually met with more excitement and joy when you think about them I get happy

when they think about finishing the 50-mile race or the 24 hour race I get

happy about that or I get happy about finishing my masters that makes me happy

I'm not so happy when I think about doing the class or the paper or running

the you know back-to-back long runs you know 15 mile or on of Saturday and a 25

mile or on a Sunday I don't look forward to that those are miserable but the

inspiration behind all of it is finishing the thing and that's what

keeps me going doing the long term thing and to wrap this up that long term

success achieving that long term goal that we all want really is about tapping

that thing deep inside of you when I mentioned at the beginning that most

people who don't achieve the long-term thing fail to really differentiate

between motivation and inspiration you can't just get there by always just

trying to motivate yourself through something if you are not truly inspired

to do the long-term thing that may take a year or two to finish or six months

whatever it is I want whatever's long-term for you for that goal you have

to tap into that thing deep down inside you just do that and you need to tap

into motivation to achieve the smaller goals but you have to be inspired you

have to be able to dig deep to be able to sustain the long

term things that you need to do to achieve the things you want to do in

life all right that's all I have for you guys I just had this on my mind again

with with New Year's rolling around and with the goals that I have and the

things that I have to try to achieve for this year I know what I got to I got a

lot of hard stuff I got a long hard road ahead of me and weight loss and

ultra running it's just I'm excited about it and I'm excited to share that

with you and I'm excited to share the thoughts that I have as I kind of unpack

this again for myself what is your inspiration whether it be your kids

school painting singing videos vlogging running whatever it is you do I'd really

like to hear whatever your interests is please leave it down below let me know

what you do that is all I have thanks for watching until next time I

will see you far away on this one

Difference between Champagne and sparkling wine (TASTE WINE LIKE A PRO) - Duration: 5:38.

I can teach you how to taste the difference between a high quality Champagne and your average bottle of bubbles in just three steps

I should know I used to work at Christie's wine auctions and it was one of my jobs there to be able to tell the

difference between say a high quality Champagne and

your average bottle of bubbles

the first thing you need to be able to do to taste the difference between a

Champagne and a sparkling wine is to be able to know the difference between the two. The difference between a Champagne

is that it's made in the region of Champagne in France.

and the other thing is that it's made in a very specific method called the methode champenoise

Now you don't really need to know all the specifics of how it's made

But I will tell you is the biggest difference is that a true champagne is made when the fermentation

Is the thing that gives it its extra bubbles and that happens inside the bottle itself.

So imagine the difference between a bottle of champagne that has the bubbles produced and

fermented into the wine

versus a bottle of wine that has the bubbles just injected into the bottle.

It's kind of like the difference between when you're cooking and you season the cooking all along the way adding the salt and the spices

versus you get all the way through the dish and you just all add all those things on top.

It's a very different thing, right? How does this affect the stuff in your glass? Well in a Champagne those bubbles are

seamlessly integrated into the wine and they're just part of the wine itself. In a bottle of sparkling wine

It's as though somebody added them in and you know what they say easy to go in easy to go out.

So those bubbles don't really last as long in your glass.

Step number one is you want to assess the bubbles - you want to take a look at these two wines and see:

Is there kind of like a frothy rim on one of them or the bubbles very big?

do they start out just kind of bubbling up very vigorously and quickly and then do they die very quickly?

Probably a sign that you have a lower quality sparkling wine in place.

This quality of the bubbles is what I would call the

finesse of a wine and it's one of the ways that you can tell the difference between a higher quality wine and a lower quality

wine. Step number two. What can you smell?

Does it smell like a really grapey aroma that hits you over the head?

Well, you might have a bottle of cold duck my friend if that's the case. Now on the other hand - Do you have a wine

that has a lot of nuanced smells

Are there a lot of things that you can smell and you can almost maybe not even

identify all the aromas?

But if you could maybe you would smell some golden apple some toast

Maybe even some nutty notes. This is the sign that you might have a Champagne.

So this, my friend, is what I call complexity in a wine.

So a wine can have more complex smells and this also is one of the tell-tale signs of a higher quality wine

versus a lower quality wine. Then for the final analysis step number three: we finally get to taste the wine.

Okay

so for the taste of the wine

what you want to do is take a small taste

and pay attention to the bubbles again from step number one go back and confirm that

finesse quality and then the other thing to pay attention to is something called the length,

which is just a fancy way of saying - how long does that flavor last in your mouth after you sip the wine?

So what you actually do is super simple

After you swallow the wine how many

seconds

does that flavor last in your mouth? One difference you're going to find in these two wines is that the champagne is

probably going to have a longer length to it. Hopefully it does.

So now all you have to think about when you pick up that glass of Champagne is

are the bubbles

seamlessly integrated, are they fine? Do they last? Do I smell a fair amount of complexity?

Do I smell a lot of things in that wine? And then the piece de resistance is:

Do those flavors last in my mouth? Does it all get come into one complete package?

If so you probably have a high-quality

Champagne. This is the difference between a bottle of Champagne and an average bottle of sparkling wine.

Let me give you one other pointer

which is that the quality of sparkling wine all over the world has become

higher and higher and many producers who make Cava and other sparkling wines, they're starting to use that methode champenoise that the champagne producers do.

So you will find sometimes that there are going to be sparkling wines out there

that aren't Champagne that may stump you and trust me - they would probably stump the majority of wine

connoisseurs too. So don't worry if that happens to you.

It's actually a really lovely thing that the quality of winemaking just gets better and better over time

Remember wine is really about your own personal taste

Hopefully these tips will be able to help you discern

what is a high-quality wine from a lower quality wine.

And with my guidance you are going to be able to taste wine

like a wine connoisseur and be able to get more and more enjoyment out of every why you taste.

The Difference Between Outer and Middle Ear Infections - Duration: 2:05.

Today I want to talk about the difference of what's called a swimmer's ear or an external

ear infection and a more typical middle ear infection or what we often think of as just

ear infections with little kids.

So, swimmer's ear or external ear infection involves the space between the external ear,

that opening, and the tympanic membrane or the eardrum, along that canal itself.

What happens with that is that canal which is lined with skin starts getting really inflamed

and infected.

Kids can sometimes manifest it as having pain when they chew or when they're talking or

classically they may have pain right here.

The best way to treat that initially is to use some topical ear drops which can get a

concentrated antibiotic right to that source right there.

When it gets really bad then a pediatrician will say why don't we have you go and see

ENT because there's just no way for those drops to get in, and at times we'll go ahead

and access the ear take a look at it, we even have a couple of special instruments in our

office to be able to take a look, and we can do some more treatment there and then at that

time and recommend a good course of treatment afterwards.

The more classic ear infection is what we call a middle ear infection and that's where

pus and fluid builds up behind the eardrum, or what we call the tympanic membrane.

That typically occurs when we start to have upper respiratory symptoms, a cough, a cold,

lots of snotty nose, and at that point as symptoms continue to get worse many parents

will go see either their pediatrician or they'll go see urgent care.

There your health care provider will take a look at the ears and look for if there's

a red, pussed out, bulging eardrum, which is the classic signs for having an

ear infection and at that time may prescribe an oral antibiotic.

Ear infections are very common, so if you have concerns if your child has an ear infection,

be it an external ear infection or a middle ear infection, give us a call, come on in

and we'll be happy to take care of them.
