Un día I was with my aunt

we went to the bank and

the the cashier asked her if she wanted

100's bills or 20's bills for change

and she said

it is indiferetion (word that doesn't exist in English)

and then we started to laugh

but anyways,

the cashier understood and gave her the change.

they gave me my first traffic ticket

it was the first time that a police officer pulled me over,

and the officer didn't speak a word of Spanish,

it was really hard to communicate with him,

even I asked him,

usted habla español?

And obviously he said NO.

I really have a problem with the GPS when I driving,

when it says,

tome tenedor a la izquierda

What the hell is a fork?

Where dam is a fork on the street?

For some reason when I'm in the restaurant

I always forget how dam to say "straw",

so I end up saying:

How did you solve it?

my aunt tried to

keep speaking and

that mistake didn't stopped her

for saying it wrong

as we know "indiferetion" does not exist

I exceeded it because I proposed myself

to work, to study on my own

to enroll in English classes

to be able to communicate in a better way

As Hispanics entering to this country

than its first language, is English

We need to step further

of studying

there are some things that you will never get over on.

Every time... getting around with different people,

reading, watching movies, etc.

you keep learning

every day you try to use a new word

What lessons does this experience leave you?

Everyone can keep moving forward

without putting limits to themselves.

We are like anyone else in this country,

and all of us can achieve our goals.

a lot of times we think that

everybody in this country is against us,

and that's not true.

Once you learn the language, once you can communicate,

you will realize that they are just like us,

they will be open minded, even you will like them

and they will like you

no one is perfect in this life,

and I believe as Latin people, we judge ourselves really hard,

we criticize ourselves a lot.

Once upon a time an American, Asian, Arab, Hindu,

that... short Spanish, but they try to speak to you in Spanish

and they're not ashamed,

so, why we are ashamed?,

with our defects,

chopped up

or wrongly spoken

Why do we feel bad about speaking in English?

And why do we criticize each other?

if suddenly we say some wrong word,

or some incorrect word

at the end, the most important thing is to communicate.

What new home upgrades do typical home buyers choose - Duration: 3:55.

Welcome to Homebuyer's School

Hi everyone and welcome to another edition of Homebuyer's School.

Today I'm joined by Jessica McNabb, Area Manager with Brookfield Residential.

And today the question we're gonna answer is -

"What does the typical homebuyer choose to upgrade?"

For sure, so when a homebuyer is coming through our showroom they're looking at

all the different inclusions in the show home, what most people end up going with

are the flooring upgrades.

So they would upgrade to laminate or

hardwood and the tile flooring, and they

would also choose the quartz counter

tops and cabinets to ceiling.

So do you know why those are the key things? The counter tops, the flooring -

why is that?

So those things are the upgrades that encompass the

entire look of the house, it changes the entire look, and it's not a huge upgrade

cost to do so.

Okay, how about colour? Is that kind of an

upgrade - is that an another upgrade as well, or is that something you have to do

kind of outside?

Like the color of the flooring for example?

Well colour of the house.

Most builders will have different colour packages to choose from, so you would

choose one colour that would go over the entirety of the house.

So there wouldn't be an upgrade cost for that, but in terms of baseboards - like if you

wanted the grey baseboards or the grey package, there would be an upgrade cost.

Let's say for some crazy thing I

wanted to paint my house like neon orange but it doesn't match the

colour schemes with the builder. Would I have to do that after the fact,

after I buy it?

You would, yeah.

So with a new build typically all the selections would have to be in place

and it would be built exactly as per the agreement, and then after the fact it's

your home so you can choose your neon colours, for sure.

Is there any - so are all these upgrades included in the mortgage, or

so let's say for example, you know I've got pre-approved this amount and I'm

going- I'm ready to buy my house but then about four months away I said "hey you

know what I want to include these things."

Yeah that's a great questionn so we see

that a lot people, will come through do their agreement with us, then a few

months later like you said, they'll say actually I want to add my deck to the

mortgage. Within certain timelines we can add different upgrades to the home,

it's very important to know that you need to take that document with the

editions and send it to the mortgage brokers so that amount can also be

included in the mortgage.

A lot of times if someone's not aware of that at

the time of closing, that cost that's not included in the mortgage would be a cost

that would have to be cash upfront. So most times the area manager and the sales

rep will make sure it goes to the broker just to manage that piece in case, but

good to know for homebuyers.

Yeah cause just in case you know, I really

want this you know, change my floor and we're so far down the process but there's

still usually is enough time for me to put it all in right? Okay.

And what's the- is there like a cut-off time? Where let's say you can't do

any more upgrades?

Right, there typically is. Most builders would like you to at the time

of the agreement go through the inclusions that you want in your home.

Because there's a build timeline that we need to maintain and to ensure that

everything's efficient and we give you the timeline that we've estimated for

you, to order the flooring, to have all the things maintained for construction

there needs to be a deadline. Typically it would be after the home's been started.

We would select all of the colours, so after it's been dug, and before it's

framed, that's when the selections need to be chosen.

What is an Embargo in Scholarly Publishing? - Duration: 2:50.

Hi there.

I am John Bond from Riverwinds Consulting and this is Publishing Defined.

Today I am going to talk about embargoes in academic publishing.

First an embargo, in this usage, is a period of time during which access to academic journal

articles is not allowed by users who have not paid for access or have access through

their institution.

A publisher does this to protect the journal's subscription revenue or member benefit.

This contention, that an embargo period helps protect the business model, is obviously debated

by many.

Surveys have been published that refute this idea.

An embargo period might be a few months or years.

There are two main types: a so called moving wall for a fixed period of time, say 12 months.

This means the restricted access is always 12 months, in this instance, from the current

date.

Another option is a fixed date such as January 1st of that year.

This means that all content prior to that date would require some kind of subscription

or membership to view it, but all older content, after that date, would be freely available

in an open access fashion.

Prior to the end of any embargo period, the title and other bibliographic information

and the abstract would be available to the reader.

This embargo on access to scientific content is not to be confused with news embargoes

that are commonly applied to the content in health-related news regarding upcoming journal

articles, such as in JAMA or the Lancet.

Journalists who commonly receive a press release and or access to the full article must hold

back reporting on it until an agreed upon date.

This agreement, sometimes called the Ingelfinger Rule, allows for research to be done by the

journalist prior to publication.

bit longer because I have to stay focused on this and also if you're sending me an email

the response times going to be kicked out maybe an extra day or two because I'm focused

on this that's my primary goal and focus is to get this all done and completed and so

the December rent remainder of November 2 through to December the end of December to

start seeing videos updated new they're going to be the qualities can be better the information

is going to be that are organized and more current and also a bit of great news here

think I sent that email it was September 26 so is about two months ago maybe two months

Moving on to November 30th in 1940 I kind of television star Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz

of the hit television show I love Lucy were married.

Also on November 30th in 1995, President Bill Clinton became the first U.S. president to

Another date that will be remember in American history is December 1st, 1955 this is where

in Alabama Civil Rights activist Rosa Parks with arrested for refusing to give up her

front-section bus seat to a white man.

born.

Talking about iconic influences in music this week on November 27th in 1942, rock musician

and legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix was born.

Another influencer in the world of Martial Arts was Bruce Lee who was born on November

27th in 1940.

Celebrating birthdays this week on November 29th C.S. Lewis was born in 1898.

Also celebrating your birthday on November 29th is Iron Man and Marvel star Don Cheadle.

WFTDA CHAMPS: What You Need To Know - Duration: 2:13.

Hey there Derbyverse, it's Nox and WFTDA Champs happened, it was awesome, I meant to

make this recap video earlier but you know … s*** happens.

The game of the weekend was Texas vs Gotham and if you think any differently I will fight

you.

It was the most dramatic game of the weekend.

Gotham walked away with a 3 point win and we all walked away with our hearts broken!

Fun!

There are obviously a crap-ton of incredibly talented skaters at champs but one really

stood out to me and that's Beyond Thunderdame from Rose City.

Literally like a week out from champs she got notified that 'hey you're gonna play

champs with us'.

So good for Dame, went out there and f***ing killed it and I continue to be SUCH a fan

girl.

And lastly, a lot of really important news came out of the weekend that I think we need

to talk about.

I'm going to expand on it more in a post later um but for right now here are the bullet

points:

First off, announcer Double-H made a comment on-air, relating losing a game to genocide

and uh, specifically the Trail of Tears which is, ya know… f***ed up.

How are we gonna make sure this doesn't happen again in the future?

How can we better educate ourselves?

So many questions on that one!

WFTDA had originally arranged for us to be on ESPN2 but then we got bumped.

There's a lot of questions I have about you know about trajectory with ESPN and like,

what we're doing there…

I don't know.

And lastly, lastly, retirements!

SO may retirements announcer before, during, and after champs and some are gonna happen

the world cup.

The list is so long and heart breaking.

Some of my all-time favorites are hanging up their skates and- UGH
