Auto news on Youtube Feb 26 2018

hey guys today I'm filming a wedding and for this video I thought it would be

nice for me to share with you all of the equipment that I plan on bringing to

this shoot for myself and also an assistant so this is going to be a

what's in my camera bag video wedding edition but more specifically since

there's two of us it's going to be what's in my camera bags plus a couple

cases wedding edition first let's start with audio to capture the audio during

the ceremony of the bride groom and officiant I'm going to be using the

rodelink wireless lav system and in this case it comes with a lavalier

microphone that you can clip on to the officiant and remember because all three

of these people will be in such close proximity this microphone should be able

to pick up audio from all three sources and then this microphone plugs in to the

transmitter and now to wirelessly transfer the audio from the transmitter

to the camera it also comes with a receiver that you plug into the

microphone jack of your camera now because the system runs on four aa

batteries I always install fresh new batteries

into the system before the ceremony starts so that way I know this thing

will not die and it doesn't hurt to have some extra during your shoot now when

you're filming a wedding you have one chance to get everything you have one

chance to get the audio and you have one chance to get the video so it's always

good to have a back-up camera and also a backup microphone my backup microphone

is currently on this camera and it's the rode videomic pro plus so this

microphone will be plugged into one camera and this wireless system will be

plugged into a separate camera now the next thing I like to bring is a handy

dandy little stepstool it just folds out just like that and I can collapse it by

pulling the handle up so this is great if I want to get shots over in the crowd

and also because I'm a little bit on the shorter side I can use this to get a

little bit higher now the first piece of camera equipment then I'm going to share

with you is actually my drone it's the DJI phantom 4 and I use this to

get some establishing shots of the wedding venue and also if I'm in a

really scenic place such as the redwoods or the coast I'll get some b-roll

of that environment now with this drone I have two batteries

and that's plenty of juice to get all of those shots next is a simple LED light

that I can use to light up dimly lit areas this is good for the reception

where lighting is poor I normally use this for cake cutting and for the first

dances it works really well it goes all the way down to 10% and you can

increase it all the way to a 100% and this can last me a few hours

all right I know you're waiting for the camera gear the main cameras but first

let's talk about batteries you can't run out of juice when you're on the job so

for my Sony camera I have five batteries and I took a label maker and I labeled

each battery one through five I just got this cheap label maker on Amazon I

believe it was about 15 bucks I'll link it below if you would like to get one so

with these labels I know which batteries are full and I know which batteries have

been used so I have five Sony batteries and I have three Canon batteries one is

currently in this camera another thing I like to have are these lens wipes these

are really handy these are also my favorite lens wipes because it comes

with a wet wipe and also a dry wipe so you can make sure your lens is clean

it's dry and it's streak free I will also link these below alright so now

let's talk cameras so my B camera or the camera that my assistant will be using

is this camera right here the Canon 5d Mark iv and the lens that I will be

bringing are the tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 lens this lens will perform well in

low light and it has a nice focal range from 24which is wide to zoomed in at 70mm

now for shots where you can't really get too close to the

subject such as during the wedding ceremony he's going to use the 70 to 200

by Canon F/2.8 so he can get those nice zoomed in shots of the bride groom and

officiant also for these cameras you need memory cards I have a bunch of sandisk

64 and 128 memory cards in this pouch now if you saw in my last video

you will know what my main camera rig is I operate off the Sony a6500

attached is the Sony 35mm F/1.8 up here I'm going to attach the

rode videomic pro plus the camera is mounted on to the pilotfly 3-axis

camera stabilizer and plugged into the sony a6500 is the smallHD focus

monitor where i can monitor the video and i can also monitor the sound by

plugging in some headphones if you want a little bit more information about this

setup click on the video card up here and I'll explain in detail how this

setup works and everything attached to it and the last lens that I will be

taking that fits on to this sony is a 10 to 18 that's right 10 to 18 f/4 lens

this is a super wide angle lens that I will use if I'm in a tight space or if I

want to get some wide landscape shots so now I'm going to pack up everything in

these two camera bags all of the Canon gear and glass is going into this lowepro

over the shoulder sling bag and all the sony gear and all of my other accessories is

going to go in this manfrotto travel backpack I made a video on this

backpack along with what I had in this camera bag about a year ago if you want

to see that video click up right here and then the DJI phantom 4 and the rodelink

cases are just going to come as is so that's everything I'm going to be

bringing to the wedding if you have any questions about these items drop them

below and when I get back from the wedding I'll answer your questions if

you would like to purchase any of these items that I mentioned in this video

especially some of these cool things like the label maker or these handy lens

wipes that work really well everything is linked in the description below for

you to check out and in a couple of weeks when I get this wedding video all

edited and finalized I will share with you how I brought all this camera gear

together to make one epic wedding video so if you're not subscribed to the

channel yet click on that red subscribe button right down below thank you guys

for watching if you like this video give it a thumbs up and I'll see you next

time take care

What Is EpiEnergetics? - Duration: 2:43.

EpiEnergetics is

the principle, the field,

will be the discipline that affects every discipline, every area of society and of thought

and of ideas

says that we must be more ecological. You must be more responsive

We must more conscious in the relationship between our use of information and energy. Very simple.

But that's what we're made up of.

Increasing levels of consciousness

requires increasing amount of energy.

It takes more energy to organize a bunch of brain cells than a single cell.

It takes more energy to organize a bigger business than a smaller business.

It takes energy to organize a whole family rather than just yourself.

You put enough energy into it- it grows. If you don't, it collapses. If you put energy into it

but it's not made available- it's bound up.

All these conditions are on it. It's not available.

So this principle is very simple. It's a principle which chiropractic, which is my origin and my training,

was based upon- and the fact that there is this organizing innate wisdom in life.

And it's what makes this-

its the same intelligence that makes the sun, the moon, the stars- and organizes the most

unlikely people to be sitting in a strange place today

It's the same intelligence that makes living cells -that as soon as it runs out of energy you're called "dead".

The amount of energy available to bring to this

intelligence to organize it,

your quality of your life, is proportionate to that.

And

that was the principal and the

principal was that if you alter the frequency of vibration of the structures, especially the nervous system, you alter this

organizational wisdom's ability to grasp information and organize it into purposeful things which we call life.

Because everything is going towards randomness... everything is going towards disbursement. Perfume spreads out in the room.

Every atom goes to infinity.

But then this this thing called life. It's able for only a certain amount of time of existence

to reverse our

moving into expansiveness, into a certain location for a particular purpose.

To serve all of it.

What is the African Union? - Duration: 3:42.

We've all heard of the European Union, and many of us may have a good idea of how it

works, but did you know that there's also an African Union?

The African Union (AU) is a political organization, founded in 1999, and launched in 2002, and

descended from the earlier Organization of African Unity (OAU), established in 1963,

to fix the damage caused by colonialism, solve international disputes in Africa, and protect

African interests.

Its members now consist of 55 member states, finally spanning all of Africa, now that Morocco

finally joined 30.Jan.2017.

The AU works somewhat similarly to the EU, and also works alongside the UN to maintain

peace and resolve disputes.

Currently, there are plans to launch the Afro as a single currency in 2023.

Though the largest city on the continent is Lagos, Nigeria, its two political centers

are in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, and the largest city in South Africa, Johannesburg.

The AU also has at least 8 official languages, including English, Arabic, French, Portuguese,

Spanish, Swahili, and what Wikipedia calls "African languages".

This is a similar situation to South Africa, which alone has 11 official languages, since

it's so diverse.

For the longest time, Morocco had been the oddball of the continent, much like Switzerland,

being the only African nation not in the AU… much like Switzerland.

This was because of all the drama going on in Western Sahara, which is a member, as the

Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, even though its existence is disputed… much like Sw…

It would be like if Catalonia were in the EU, but not as a province of Spain.

Madrid wouldn't be very happy about that.

Nowadays, however, the whole of the continent is a member of the AU, which meets to decide

on stuff in the Pan-African Parliament in Addis Ababa, as well as many other organizations.

The AU is mainly concerned with social issues with colonialism and violent disputes on the

continent, as well as economic issues in the nations.

One of the organization's most noteworthy duties in their short history has been in

operating peacekeeping missions in areas on the continent under attack from Boko Haram.

Unfortunately, the AU is somewhat underfunded, with many members not paying their membership

fees, something complained about by the President of Rwanda, which has led to some complicated

records in recent wars and outbreaks.

Many in the AU strive for eventual unity, as it was even brought up in some of the earliest

talks about the idea, though the idea still has a bit of a ways to go, since the AU lacks

a Schengen equivalent, or anything else like that already seen in the EU.

AU members also have different economic groups within, like the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU),

and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

A more apt comparison would be something like the UN, which serves as more of an international

forum to resolve disputes, and has actually had to step in for the AU.

Nevertheless, the AU is a new organization with high hopes for a powerful, united Africa,

both for the sake of its soon-to-be 4.4 billion citizens by 2100, and for North American citizens

who are just bad at geography.

Thanks for watching this brief summary of the African Union.

This video was meant more for people who had no prior idea the AU existed, but if you found

this video informative, do be sure to give it a like and subscribe to learn something

new every Sunday.

What's Next for ChriskaYoga? Big Changes On This Channel - Duration: 10:01.

Hello, i am back

And i'm so excited to be filming and posting videos again it has been

A long time and i missed you

Guys, i'm glad i took this break because it allowed me to really just think about things appreciate

what has come of this channel and

Start to actually

miss it and

i

Did miss it and i'm really happy to be back and post some videos again first of all i just want to thank you all

For you know sticking around, and and for all of your kindness in that video that i posted no longer on the channel

But i did read all of your comments and i am so so grateful for everyone's kindness and understanding

They're all so nice you're all wonderful human beings and i am so happy that you're all a part of this community

And i'm just honored to be your yoga teacher so thank you so much for your kind sense and i'm happy that you're back so

Previously on the channel i was posting three videos per week that is quite a lot of videos

Moving forward i will be posting one yoga class every week this

Yoga, class that i'll be posting this weekly yoga

Class will be between ten to

Thirty minutes the longest video that i'll be posting on this channel from here on out?

Will be 30 minutes i'm gonna leave all of my

Longer classes that i have done in the past up on the channel of course so along with the other videos they're

Not going anywhere so none of that's going

Away, but moving forward i'll be posting one yoga class one yoga routine per week

And they'll be on the shorter side i have another option that i would like to share with, you it's something that i really

Really, have been interested in doing for a long time and i really hope that some of you are interested in this as well because

I, would love to have a more personal relationship with, you and actually help you in your

yoga

journey What i'm talking about is a yoga online membership site so for this online membership i would be offering

full-length tales of classes probably one per week so about for

Folding classes between 45 to 60 minutes per week

And there will be no youtube fluff you know. How

In my youtube videos that come in with an intro and i tell you a little bit about the class and then i say subscribe

Like, from the notification bell blowing all of that stuff in these classes for the membership

Site will be gone along with, ads there won't be any youtube

Ads it'll just be yoga so no fluff no

Ads just the yoga class i know that a lot of people find the ads

Annoying as do i but it's just the reality of youtube and that's, why, youtube, is free so yeah with

these the membership

Site none of that just the yoga classes plus some of my best shorter

Content shorter routines that are will be available for streaming or downloading if you so choose, along with, those things as

Well we'll be offering downloadable audio guided meditations as well i get a lot of comments about how

My, voice is very relaxing and calming and doing meditation with, me is a great thing to do for that so if you are

One of those people, who enjoy

My relaxing tone then the guided meditations, would be a great thing to do to practice with as

Well along with the yoga and the meditations the membership would

Also include live group calls so i would, be able to actually talk to you, live and you can

Ask, me questions, about yoga, about the class about whatever it is that, we want to talk?

About i can actually interact with

you Live and i think that is something i would love to do because i've never done that with you before and

I just think it would be such a great community building thing to do and it would really

Make us all feel

Like i am you an actual yoga teacher which is what i want more than anything i want to be your real life

Yoga, teacher even though, you're, from all over the world i would love to interact with you and to actually help you

Personally be able to move forward in your yoga journey so i think this would be a really great thing a

Really great feature to offer in the membership site as, well in addition to that you would

Also, become a part of a private with community page on facebook, where

We can all i would moderate the page of course, and we can all talk to each other ask

Questions to me, ask questions to each other it would be a really small intimate group and

Another way for us to just really build, this community

We already, have started building this community on youtube and i'd like to just really strengthen that community you know help

Each other out so that would definitely be another feature and finally i would love to, also offer

Some bonus content it would either be some journaling exercises for personal development for self reflection

Which i love doing and i would love to share that with. You, also i thought it would be really nice to do a

Book, club every month so we can all read the same book probably

Surrounding a topic regarding, yoga so i think toga related

Topic or personal development or something health and wellness related i love reading and i think that it would be cool to

Incorporate that as, well and they know it's a lot, so that's

Why i'm offering it as a bonus because you, don't have to participate if you don't

Want to so to sum up the membership would have four full-length yoga classes streamable

Downloadable classes you can either stream them or download them onto, any

Device so that means your computer your ipad

Your tatting or any kind of tablet you have your phone wherever

You'd like you can, watch it on your television you can, stream it so you

Don't have to download it whatever you need the only thing with downloading

Is that you don't need, an internet connection to practice you, don't have to worry, about buffering or anything like

That so if you download it you can just

Watch it because you you have it on your device but anyway that's a side note so including the membership just to reiterate

would be for full-length

45 to 60 minute yoga classes per month you can stream or download of other yoga classes that are shorter that you can just download

And keep for yourself or stream as, well you have access to all of that along with all previous content as

Well so if you, join three months into the membership

You, still have access to all the classes that i offer in the previous, three months a

Private community page that we can all interact with

Each other in monthly to bimonthly so either once or twice a month i will be doing live, group calls with everybody

We can, chat you can, ask, me questions guided audio meditations that you can download onto

Your phone take with you on the go if you, while you're traveling, do wherever you'd like

And the bonus material so journaling exercises book club

I think those are two things that are really just fun community building activities and great for self-reflection and just getting to know

Yourself better and self-improvement so yeah that's a lot of stuff that would come with. This monthly

Membership i would like to keep the costs as low

As possible, so i'm thinking somewhere between 17 to 20 dollars a month and you'd be getting quite a lot

For that price so it would be like less than five dollars a week let's say?

You're, only counting the full length, yoga classes for each, yoga class it would be less than

Five dollars which is about the same price as a latte from starbucks and it's about i think like, somewhere, near

85% less than the price of a. Drop-in. Yoga class drop-in

Yoga, classes are expensive yoga studio memberships are expensive and yoga studios can

be quite

Intimidating so i think this will be an excellent option i'm a very advanced yoga teacher i have 500 hours of training

So i'm more advanced if you didn't know

Then other yoga teachers, who only have 200 hours working with, me would be a really valuable resource for your yoga

Journey and if you like, my youtube classes then i think this

Would be a really great option if you're interested in that i have a. Link down below and up here on the screen

Please click the link and enter your information so i know that you're interested in so i know that it's something worth doing i would

Love to be more interactive with you have a more personal connection as your yoga teacher with

What to do after a minor car crash with little damage - Duration: 6:18.

Hi everyone so welcome to this video where we're going to take a look at a car crash

that I was involved in. There are going to be three videos

in this series, this first one is a very minor crash. It's not exactly a crash

it's more just an incident we're going to take a look at this and I'm going to show

you what happened, show you me and the other person sorting it.

This is so that if in the future if you're unfortunate enough to be involved in a

crash like this at least you'll know what to do and have some idea of what's going

to happen so anyway if you play a video and this is just me and the pupil who

pulled over and there's nothing wrong with where we pulled over and this is

about 30 meters from the end of the road behind us and what you're

gonna see is that a car comes up from behind and just smashes our wing mirror off

(instructor) We've just got time...(mirror smashes) Pupil - "Oh my god!" Instructor - He's smashed the mirror

so there you go...so that cars just smashed the mirror and drove off. We thought

he'd driven off and wasn't going to stop but he did actually turn around

you'll see he's just turning...He's reversing and he's going to turn

around in the road on the right there. Now how that happened I don't know

because there was no one parked behind us or on the other side of the road

This road, although it doesn't look like in the video maybe, it's really really wide

I mean look how much room there is when he come past the van and he drives back and

he kind of looks at us and says sorry puts his hand up and then he pulls up

behind me now at this point I don't actually have a rear camera this is one

of the reasons that I invested in via camera because a lot of people say why

do you bother having one on the back well that's why because people will

often hear you from the back so anyway that's quite simple accident and all I

happen was this guy go no no no you can't see this on the video and there

were pieces of that car pieces of my car all over the road and then moment

although you can't see we both care now and we kind of picking up the glass

speaking at the plastic I know and he said to me something about were you just

about to move and I said we were moving at all

he seemed to think that we'd moved off and he'd hit us as you know as we moved

off but we hadn't moved off at all we were sitting completely still he did say

something quite interesting to me right he started to say something along the

lines of when this happened last week and then he stopped so this isn't the

first time he's done it now how this happened I think I know no I'm not

saying for sure though he was on his phone but when he pulled up and we were

talking to each other I could see he had a mobile phone which was turned on on

the passenger seat and he looked as though he been talking on it can tell

for definite but um you know I'm pretty certain he was on his phone and he was

going too fast anyway whose Excel they really quick down the road it's just a

very minor incident so quite an easy one this I mean one thing the you may or may

not hear him say because I haven't watched his video back for quite a while

and you may or may not be able to hear him saying this in a moment

is he said something come out we don't need to go through the insurers let's

not tell them well yeah you do need to go through the issues because what can

happen is that you can never crush down this and it can seem not nothing they

can then call their insurers and they can make it out to be a lot worse than

it was and he thank contact your insurance and

you haven't told them you had a crush that's bad I mean you can't just have a

crush yes it's a very minor crush I know he was only a wing mirror smashed off

but you'll see me I know writing down demands details now

I will have gone over this in another video but even you know crushes mine it

was this you need to get you the drivers details see me writing them down you

can't just leave in drive awful so it doesn't matter because some people are

trying to take advantage of this and they'll say that you hit them so yeah we

swab details and I did fair mine shoes and tell him and he disco on your file

as being evolved in the non fault accident cause it wasn't my fault

because we weren't even moving now what happened in the end of it is he's quite

simply it's quite strangely the man after she pulled the mirror back on the

car for us he picked it up and he said look you know Randall don't go through

the insurance I'll just fix it for you and he put it all back together and to

be fair there was only a very small crack in the plastic cover no if we can

find a picture I took of that put it up on the screen now baby they

need quite a small crack and I just brought a new cover and that was about

it so I did tell mine she was ready he told his I don't know but mine would

have hold told his anyway and it is important this because they can go

against you if you don't they see the curve on the bonnet I hope you consider

video now because I'm recording this is how much new video you see me now

writing down standing behind the mirror cover that's the cover that out to

replace so yeah I'm quite a minor crusty they need to report it make sure you do

know I'm not a damaged but you can see in the mode impaired as a part of his

car think I think I see a mirror lying on the floor so this one was sorted out

very easily no he's a minor no if the mirror was

damaged don't be a lot worse because a glass glass itself is only about 35

pounds I think but the mirror the whole mirror housing and the paint the

electrics cuz I've got mirrors they're not just move electronically they were

also heated and they fold in and out as well the power folding mirrors so you

might have seen on some cars when you press the close button lock button it

folds him he was in at the same time so yeah I took you to a garage straightaway

and they look to the enter said yeah no it looks fine this is you know just can

you cover so there you go quite minor accident but the rule or the lesson from

this video is you must report all accidents doesn't matter how petty

they're my steam we might be the light run in the day you know it is more

damage he could might be that he hit the car and he scratched he scratched her

Pines I think no he didn't in this case but you never know so always we pull

like since no matter how small or big they go that star accident covered the

next video will be looking at one which is a bit more serious and a bit more

evolving but that's all for now so thanks for watching

what happens if you tell someone you love those 2 Magic Words?! animated - Duration: 2:04.

what happens if you tell someone you love those 2 magic words

welcome to lifestyle therapy channel, stay tuned.

"I'm sorry". are the two most healing words in the English

language.

When they are spoken as part of a wholehearted apology, these words are the greatest gift

we can give to the person we have hurt.

many marriages fail, and family members stop speaking to one another, because someone will

not apologize, or the apology is offered in a way that only deepens the injury, rather

than widening the path for forgiveness and reconciliation.

Even good relationships suffer quietly beneath the surface, when a hurt or insult goes unrepaired.

For the want of a heartfelt apology, a kingdom of trust and affection may be lost.

Our heartfelt apology, can help free the hurt person from life-draining anger, bitterness,

and pain.

It validates their sense of reality by affirming that, yes, their feelings make sense, we get

it, and we take full responsibility for our words, and actions, or our failure to speak

or act.

Getting it right is difficult, and it's worth it.

The courage to apologize, and the wisdom to do it wisely, and well is at the heart of

effective leadership, coupled om, parenting, friendship, personal integrity, and love.

It's hard to imagine what matters more than that.

please share this video to help us make this world a better place for all of us

What to do when your world falls apart - Duration: 3:41.

I've always been comfortable being lost in a physical sense

You know: literally not knowing what's around the next corner. That's how all my best adventures start out.

Though I like to think of myself as an adventurous spirit

I am the kind of person that likes to have my life planned out

and I had

planned that once I finish college, I was going to go into the Peace Corps and everything was good

I got accepted!

I was going through the clearances and then all of a sudden something came up, and now I don't get to go anymore.

I've been planning on this for years

and I gotta say that it feels like the floor has just been swept out from underneath me and

I've kind of been trying to figure out what am I gonna?

You know, I had revolved so much of my identity around this next step

And I'm just trying to figure out who I am again

So the only thing I could really think of to do at this point is

Sit down, make a list of all the things that I ALWAYS wanted to do, but told myself that I didn't have time,

and just start doing them.

I'm graduating in a few months

And I just feel like what better time than

To explore all my interests and passions then when I feel like I have no next step in life

And I'm just kind of hoping that something will stick and I'll be able to take it to the next step

So in life I've been stuck for a long time

You know I've been at the school that I don't particularly like being at. In a major

I'm not sure it's gonna lead me to what I want. In a relationship that seems to be going nowhere

just breaking up and getting back together for years because it's all we know and

I just feel like I need change you know? And within the past few months

I've started to get change! One of the things always wanted to do was cut all my hair off

And now it's short, and I love it!! <3

Another thing that I wanted to do is I had officially cut things off with my ex-boyfriend

a year ago and I

started dating one of my close guy friends

And we made it official so that's another great thing that I'm so thankful that I did.

I'm just wanting to keep going with this. There's so many things that I want to do that

I've been scared to move on because it's just such a big change for me

But if I'm doing something that's expressing who I am and I'm following what I really want

The outcomes, they can't really be bad because I'm doing things that are true to myself so...

This is my story, and I hope you can learn something and hopefully feel inspired from

Seeing my adventures, and if nothing else hopefully you'll be entertained

Sharing these experiences can help you guys as well because maybe there are things in your life thing. You've always wanted to do but

Haven't had the time or money or just haven't been ready to take that leap yet

I'm ready to leap and just roll with it and see where I end up.

So if you want to follow my journey go ahead and hit subscribe below

So you can get updated on all my latest adventures

I'd love if you'd leave something in the comments about what you've always wanted to do

But have been putting off, something that you've always dreamed of and sounds amazing to you, but you've never had a chance to experience.

What's Toyota's Jidoka (Autonomation)? - Duration: 5:47.

Today, let's discuss Toyota's Jidoka, or Autonomation in Japanese.

[Intro Video]

Hi, this is Mike Negami, Lean Sigma Black Belt.

Just-In-Time is more well-known, but Autonomation is the two-pillar foundation in Toyota Production

System along with Just-In-Time.

I would like you to understand why Autonomation is so important today.

It's a good idea to think about the origin of Autonomation.

Before making automobiles about 100 years ago, Toyota was making automatic looms that

knitted yarn and made cloth automatically.

With 'Automation', machines made the manufacturing process more efficient and faster than before.

However, there was a big problem.

When a string was cut or some abnormality occurred, machines used to keep working and

tended to produce a lot of defects.

Then, Toyota invented the first machine in history with a device that detected those

abnormalities and stopped itself automatically.

This is a picture of that machine.

This is the original point of 'Autonomation'.

Toyota's official website says this: "Autonomation is applied to a machine with

a built-in device for making judgments.

On the other hand, Automation is simply applied to a machine that moves on its own.

Autonomation refers to 'Automation with a human touch', which gives machines the

ability of human operators who usually manage and supervise machines."

In other words, Automation is a mechanism that makes machines work automatically, while

Autonomation is a mechanism with a human touch that makes machines stop automatically when

a problem occurs.

When a problem occurs, the machine will stop itself.

It's not only convenient, but it's also possible for one operator to operate multiple

machines, so productivity dramatically increases.

However, even though many recent machines have such a function, the Toyota Production

System went further.

Presently, they've expanded the concept of Autonomation to include using a tool called

'Andon'.

Toyota's factories are equipped with electronic signage like the photo.

They call this 'Andon'.

In addition to stopping all lines when an abnormality occurs in a machine, you can understand

where and what happened according to the signage.

Also, each worker's location has an Andon button and they can notify the Andon system

if an abnormality occurred.

The substance of Autonomation is from the following.

First, a machine detects an abnormality and informs people with the signage board.

The operation line would not stop right away.

When the abnormality is out of the range of standard operating procedures, the line will

stop.

Since the operation line has stopped, they can't ignore it.

The line managers and supervisors come to the incident location, and analyze its root

cause and remove the problem.

They consider measures to prevent recurrence, and incorporate those and revise the standard

operating procedure.

Since the line stopped, defective parts wouldn't go on to the following process and that reduces

the number of defective products.

By repeating this cycle, you can improve your people's awareness "to create quality

in my process".

Preventive measures are steadily standardized, and the quality of processes and products

will increase steadily.

Eventually your workers will develop steadily.

It's a wonderful concept and system, isn't it?

Unfortunately, however, we cannot implement this Autonomation in all companies, even in

manufacturing operations.

If a high-defect-rate operation used this system, their line would stop too often and

be counterproductive.

First, they have to decrease their defect rate by standardizing their operations.

What can we, in service operations, do with this Autonomation?

We can learn the main concept of Autonomation: don't ignore abnormality and solve any problems

even by stopping your process, and establish a system to make your people always think

of and conduct prevention measures.

Then you can improve your operations continuously.
