Michael Bisping Funny Near Death Experience at UFC Orlando; Jon Jones Athletic Commission Verdict - Duration: 3:33.

The always entertaining Michael bisping shared a funny story on his believe you me podcast

where he almost died last weekend after UFC Orlando The link to the full podcast is in

the fights for fox and the flight was for 5:45 am the flight home I mean so it was a

super early start, ok.

Got to the airport around 5 ocolock maybe earlier and I'm starving.

I haven't eaten.

I'm thinking I never like to get on a plane hungry that's one of my things in life.

Never get into a plane hungry.

You don't know what kind of food is gonna be on there.

Even if you're in first class it might suck.

There's nothing more miserable for me than being stuck on a plane starving.

So I always try to get a meal.

Anyway, I'm hungry and I'm at the airport and I see Donna and another guy Tim from the

UFC that worked there for years.

And I'm like hey whats up guys how ya doing blab la bla, listen I'm in a super rush

trying to get some food but my flight goes soon.

So, I order a steak and eggs and the steak and eggs come.

I'm trying to wolf down the steak as fast as possible.

Obviously, I chop off a huge piece of steak.

I don't cut it properly, sorry, I don't chew it trying to swallow it.

What happens, of course, I start choking.

So I'm at the bar and the two ufc employees there that are high up in the company and

I've known for a long time and obviously respect.

So I don't want to look like an a**hole so I'm like trying to secretly choke.

Lewis: You don't want to look like an a**hole and die in front of them?

Bisping: yeah exactly!

So I'm like ugh ugh gugh and I'm trying to keep it low key, you know, so I grab some

water and im thinking 'I'll flush it down with some water that'll get rid of it'

Lewis: I don't think that's the actual thing you're supposed to do.

Are you supposed to do that when you're dying?

Bisping: I got a F**ckng piece of steak stuck in my throat Lewis!

Im like, maybe I can rinse it down with some water so I'm like ugh hgh ugh I'm trying

to do that then that doesn't work so I'm like gugggh I spit all the water all over

the bar here's me trying to keep it low key so then I turn around and walk away from

the bar.

Rather than cause a scene and be embarrassed at the bar I walk off to die in peace.

I walk down like 20 yards ughgu ghgug uhhhhh finally cough up this huge piece of steak

that I had no business trying to swallow it.

But, yeah there you go very embarrassing made the flight, and here I am."

In not so funny news Jon Jones had his hearing with the California State Athletic Commission

yesterday.

To summarize the two and half hour stream Jones was fined the max penalty of 40 percent

of his purse or $205,000 dollars from ufc 214.

He will be eligible to reapply for a license in August of this year.

USADA has yet to deliver their penalty.

CSAC Executive Officer Andy Foster said "Let USADA give their discipline, when that's

completed, I'll be inclined to support Jones in getting his license back.

I do not believe we should end Mr. Jones' career today, but I do believe he should sit

out for a while."

After the verdict jones tweeted " I want to thank csac for taking the time and hearing

my case, and executive officer Andy Foster for saying he believes me."

Edson Barboza vs Kevin Lee has been made official for April 21st.

Barboza is coming off a loss to khabib in December and Kevin is coming off his loss

to Tony Ferguson in October.

and finally The UFC rankings have been updated.

Cub Swanson moved up a rank after losing his last fight to Brian Ortega and Jeremy stephens

entered the top 5 after his controversial victory over Emmett.

In the light heavyweight division Latifi moved up 3 spots after his victory over OSP this

past weekend and also entered the top 5.

summer-- it changed your life.

Yeah you know in an instant I was just

going about my normal day and there was

a malfunction in a fuel delivery, it

ignited, you know it was this real

aggressive explosion and it just blew me

back you know my hair was smoldering--

like I could smell it right-- and then

skin was coming off my arm so it made the process for a

minute right I mean I, I didn't know what had

happened right because I lost you know

the seconds of time what happened you

know and I stood up and you know I had

skin hanging off my arms and my legs and

I was like this is probably not good.

We see you've got sleeves on.

Yes I wear compression sleeves, four skin

grafts, four blood transfusions, I had placenta and amniotic

fluid used to prevent the scarring, the

doctors and the science certainly prevail

but the, but the whole world around me

making me feel good I think really means

something.

And, and how did this, this incident

redirect your life and refocus you?

You know my career has always been a

major piece of the function and my job

as a chef you know, I joke around all

the time that you know chefs work two

days to everybody else's one day right,

because there's been a lot of sacrifice

to have a successful career and I've

been very lucky you know I've been I've

been successful; I've got a beautiful

wife and a beautiful family and but I

was working with my head down all the time

and sometimes leaving the house at

7:00 in the morning and coming home at

midnight.

When you have two little kids that

are twins that are two years old you know

that's not necessarily I mean it's

what I have to do, what I thought I had to

do how about that?

Because now I realized that

when I was in the hospital for two

months I wasn't doing that, and then I've been in my rehab you

know for four months after that.

I realized that I can change my

life to be... my work to fit my life rather

than my life to fit my work.

My grandmother used to say to me 'walk

with a purpose when you're doing something' right, and now I

believe I walk with a purpose and I think that

purpose is to understand that it's not

just you know chasing a, a career dream

but a life dream.

I know you brought something

special for us to see, that means a lot

to you.

sense of humor goes a long way so I've
