I

So, yeah, you really need to like

try not to be heavy-handed because some people say it's good to put more product than needed and then rinse it off but

It's good if you just start off a little bit as as possible

So that you wouldn't have to rinse away or dev away to excess product

You know means just add a little bit break it through sieve your hair. We act super hair doesn't mean accident add some more

But it's good to have your hair soaking wet. So

That I may easily kind of like emulsifiers into your hair

Before I used to think it was better to have your hair damp not wet but

I don't know what the hell that was about

Maybe my hair was like super high porosity a that's I am off. My hair's kind of normalized though. I don't know

So anyway, just move it Vegas movie a trachea

Giving it a smile to the camera, of course

And then just going again, maybe there ends burn properly like a pliant

But you just want to make sure you do tangle as fairly as you can

because this is the main problem that people have when they do wash and gos and kinky head like Oh,

Her hair got tangled. My hair was a tank. My hair was a mess

My hair was so tangled

I was like a nurse because you didn't detangler your hair properly before you did the washing go so, you know

so this is basically really, you know, focus a camera look in the mirror vogue try and see if everything is even

Actually, I think I hadn't done this section. Yes, that's why I'm still

Yeah, so I think by this point I had done the whole thing

Scribbling don't shake a little shit, you know

Okay

And at this point, you can't really see too much white which is a good sign

Give it a little flick as well. Just check the movement

Slow motion and it's time to play your soul glow from coming to America

Yeah

Okay, I don't know who the ones probably say

Yeah, hurry. Look at those eyes

Hey, don't lie. We're swinging swinging Willis move with the head back or forth. Wait, I whip my hair back and foul

So guys I'm just doing a wash and go now with these

UK

hair products called mixed

Okay, and the slip is amazing. The perfume is amazing. Dehydration is amazing. I

sprayed my hair with this first and then I ran a lot of this through Ward not a lot, but just like a

Regular amount and I just made really small sections

I raked it through smoothly through raked it through and now I'm just leaving it to air dry

And my hair just feels amazing. It's very light

Yeah, it just feels great oh my god

Okay, guys, I think my hair is like 90% dry now and

Again if you didn't pay attention I was using these products mix

It's a UK

black-owned company and

the link will be in description box if you can't find it online and

Yeah

For the hair type that I've got. I've managed to get some definition

Now this isn't a gel it's just a leave-in cream

So, you know

You know don't use it expects your hair to be like super defined like you're using like some sort of canceled eco styler

Gel, like this isn't that kind of an eco styler gel. This is just like a leave-in conditioner and edition source of moisturizing spray

So I'll probably use this like daily if I have to and I'll use this literally on worst day

But yeah, great combination, especially pure scale. Your hair's gonna get it dry

it's good to use this and this on the same day just to lay the product just to be extra safe - I mean

So, yeah, the flakes are not flakes but the whole product is drying clear

And I'm getting a little bit of shrinkage which is you know typical for my hair type before being natural afro hair identity

and yeah, I'm glad I used these products and

I'm excellent. I haven't had a Washington girl. I just I feel so nice to be free like Lion King, you know Mufasa

so

Simba has returned

Pokéquarium - What animal is Mareanie and Toxapex based on? - Duration: 9:46.

Hello Pokémon fans, I'm Leaderfuzzy, and welcome to this series which I'm now calling Pokéquarium!

*Gen 3 shiny sound effect for new logo*

In this series, I observe a marine Pokémon of some sort and figure out what it is based on!

I'll do this by focusing on different sections that highlight the creature,

and help to understand the reasoning behind its inspiration.

Today, we'll be talking about the dual water / poison type Pokémon Mareanie and its evolution Toxapex,

but before we get into the meat of it, I have a story from my first playthrough of Pokémon sun

where I saw Mareanie for the first time

*Enter Wailord Boat*

As I was exploring Route 7 on Akala Island, I encountered a trainer called "Swimmer Casey"

If you know me from my lets play channel Brohive, you'll know that my real name is Casey.

When I was playing the game and first saw this, I was dumbfounded.

It's as if they put me in the game!

Well we look a bit different, but that's fine!

But that wasn't the end of it.

Swimmer Casey then threw out a Pokémon I had never seen before!

When I first saw this new Pokémon, it was clear that it was based on an interesting marine creature.

The spikes on its arms made me think it was some sort of Sea Urchin,

but the way the creature was positioned meant it could also be a drooping sea anemone or something.

Either way, I needed one on my team.

I did some research, and it turns out the only way Mareanie can be encountered

is if you fish up a Corsola, the coral Pokémon, and make it call for help at low health.

So it's clear that there's a lot going on with this Alolan Pokémon.

And I'm determined to figure out what it is.

Despite Mareanie's design being hard to identify, its behavior and physical features point to it being based solely off of a single creature.

But what real life creature could be the source for all of Mareanie's odd features?

Well it turns out it's not a sea urchin or sea anemone at all,

but a type of starfish!

This is the Crown of Thorns Starfish.

An echinoderm found in the Indo-Pacific Region,

also known as Acanthaster Planci

This starfish can range from 25 to 35 centimeters in diameter, and can have up to 21 arms.

Each one these arms are equipped with many venomous spines, which are sharp enough to easily pierce through soft surfaces.

Making it quite difficult to deal with!

Despite them looking quite stiff and rigid while flaunting their numerous spikes,

Acanthaster Planci's arms are able to easily bend and twist around the only thing it eats.

Coral.

Yep, these starfish are infamous for their voracious appetite

of one of the most beautiful sessile marine creatures.

Acanthaster Planci is very fast for a starfish, moving at 20 meters per hour.

It is also nocturnal, and each night it can eat its own body area in coral.

This adds up to consuming 13 square meters of coral a year for one starfish.

So as you can imagine, outbreaks of this species are pretty devastating to coral reefs.

Although in some cases, having a *few* Crown of Thorns around a coral reef can be beneficial,

as they usually prefer eating fast growing branching coral.

By eating these fast growing coral species, it can allow for enormous slow growing coral to increase in population

and increase the species diversity of coral in that area.

Now if you look back on Mareanie for a second,

it has one of the most interesting predator-prey relationships with another Pokémon found in the Alola region.

Like I said before, the only way to encounter a Mareanie in the wild

is to find a Corsola in the ocean and have it cry for help at low health.

This usually summons an ally Pokémon to help attack for it,

But Mareanie is different.

Instead of attacking the player, Mareanie will prey upon the low-health Corsola.

In Mareanie's Pokedex entry in Sun, it states that:

"The coral that grows on Corsola's head is as good as a five-star banquet to this Pokémon."

So finding a low health Corsola that is crying for help

essentially means that a dinner bell has rung for Mareanie,

and it'll show up to finish the job

So it's clear that Mareanie is based off of the Crowns of Thorns Starfish, if only for its diet alone,

but one aspect that gives that away more than anything is the shape of its prey.

As I mentioned before, the Crown of Thorns Starfish prefers to eat branching Coral above all else.

This is because it can easily wrap around the coral with its arms and digest it.

Knowing this, Mareanie eating Corsola is much more justified.

Just look at the shape of Corsola!

Its Coral appendages are clearly branched, making it the perfect prey for Mareanie.

Corsola's Pokedex entry in Ultra Moon also states that

its branches are stubby due to the overpopulation of Mareanie in the area.

This perfectly mirrors Crown of Thorns Starfish outbreaks in coral reefs such as the great Barrier Reef,

where they're considered a major threat.

Acanthaster Planci can turn a vibrant ecosystem

into a white mass of skeleton if their numbers are not controlled.

So, you may be wondering why predators don't just eat the crown of thorns starfish?

How can they be so out of control?

Well, those spikes on its arms aren't just there for show.

They're actually very venomous.

However, unlike other venomous predators,

the Crown of Thorns Starfish has no means of injecting its toxins.

Instead, it acts as a defense mechanism.

If anything accidently touches or steps on its spines, they may break,

causing the toxic saponins to be lost in the wounds.

In humans, this can cause a sharp, stinging pain that can last for several hours,

and can also result in nausea and swelling of tissue for a few days.

In addition, the saponins that Acanthaster Planci possesses also have an unpleasant taste.

So anything that manages to eat it likely won't want to keep it down.

Needless to say, this is a creature that should not be carelessly touched,

meaning that it is very hard for its natural predators to control its population.

The only known predator to consistently prey upon the Crown of Thorns Starfish is the Triton Snail,

which is essentially a very large sea snail.

After this Gastropod gets ahold of the Crown of Thorns,

the starfish's only hope of survival is to abandon one of its limbs to get away.

The Triton Sea Snail is such an effective predator that once the Crown of Thorns Starfish smells it in the water,

it will visibly flee.

However, the Triton Sea Snail is not often in high enough abundance to keep the Crown of Thorns population controlled.

And due to its venomous spines,

very few creatures come between it and its coral based meals.

Mareanie and its evolution Toxapex seem to boast a similar toxin,

but one difference between the Crown of Thorns Starfish and Mareanie is that

Mareanie actually has a method of Injecting its toxins.

The venomous spikes of Mareanie's evolution, Toxapex, boast similar effects as the Crown of Thorns Starfish.

Toxapex's Pokedex Entry in Moon states that:

"Those attacked by Toxapex's poison will suffer intense pain for three days and three nights, and post recovery, there will be some aftereffects."

Knowing how much damage the Crown of Thorns Starfish toxins can do,

Toxapex's signature move, Baneful Bunker,

makes a lot more sense.

It's essentially guarding itself from any predators,

and anything that happens to make contact will be heavily poisoned.

And while the Crown of Thorns' venom may not leave you with pain for 3 days and 3 nights,

It can certainly last a few hours.

However, the nausea and swelling it creates may very well last three days afterward.

Maybe those were the aftereffects that were mentioned?

In any case, the Crown of Thorns Starfish has ample toxic protection throughout its entire juvenile and adult life history stages,

but did you know they also contain toxins in their larval stages?

It was recently discovered that planktivorous fish that tried to feed on the eggs and larvae of the Crown of Thorns Starfish

Often rejected them instead of eating them.

This is likely because their eggs and larvae contain similar saponins as their adult forms,

making their early life history stages poisonous instead of venomous.

Side note:

The difference between a creature being poisonous and venomous depends on how the host contracts the toxin.

If you eat something and contract toxins, that thing is poisonous.

If a creature injects the toxins into its prey, that's venom.

So as you can see, the Crown of Thorns Starfish is fairly well protected throughout its entire life,

guarded by a variety of toxins.

Making it a creature you wouldn't want to mess with.

So now that we're done comparing Mareanie's diet and toxins to that of the Crown of Thorns Starfish,

let's take a look at the visual similarities.

Mareanie and Toxapex's colors include

light blue, purple, red, and yellow hues.

This is actually fairly accurate to the real thing, considering the Crown of Thorns Starfish can come in a variety of colors.

And surprisingly, Toxapex is closer to the real thing than Mareanie is.

Just look at these pictures! It's like looking through a much more detailed mirror!

While this starfish is known to come in a variety of blues that resemble Mareanie's arms,

very little Crown of Thorns display the pale purple hue that Mareanie has on its head,

and instead boast much deeper purples and blues.

In fact, the most accurate color these Pokémon have to the real thing come from their shiny forms!

[Shiny Mareanie and Toxapex appeared!]

While the Crown of Thorns Starfish may come in a variety of colors,

it is not often that it will display just one.

This creature usually displays many bright colors to alert predators to stay away.

However, when the crown of Thorns comes in red, it is usually mostly red,

with small hints of other colors to emphasize it,

Now, lets take a look at their arms,

er.. tentacles, or hair?

I don't know.

whatever they are, Mareanie has 10 of them,

while Toxapex is shown to have 12.

The Crown of Thorns Starfish can have up to 21 arms,

so the difference likely exists just to simplify the design.

In terms of size, Mareanie is about 1 foot tall

and Toxapex is a little over 2 feet tall.

Early Juveniles of the Crown of Thorns Starfish are often less than 2.5 centimeters long,

but this is only because they haven't found a stable source of food yet.

Once larger juveniles begin to feed on coral, they grow more rapidly than any stage in their life cycle,

at around 16 mm a month.

And once a diet of coral is established for a prolonged period,

the juvenile can mature into its adult phase,

where they can grow as big as 25 and 35 centimeters in diameter,

but some specimens have been recorded to be up to 80 centimeters long,

that's over 2 feet wide!

Knowing this, Mareanie could very well represent a late Juvenile Crown of Thorns that has just begun feeding on coral,

and is likely doing so to increase in size to adulthood.

AKA, Evolution.

What can you get for $1000 in Tenerife, Canary Islands as a traveler? - Duration: 6:22.

Hey hey! Welcome back to this episode of the Tsar Experience with me, Conor

Clyne. I'm in the Canary Islands in Tenerife and today's video is going to

be a variation what I've been doing before it's gonna be $1,000 what it can

buy you here in the Canary Islands in Tenerife before I've been doing $100 but

thanks to your feedback that you leave in the comments you wanted something it

was a higher kind of price band so I'm actually just gonna make this $1,000 or

800 euros so let's get in today's video and show you what you can get for your

money here.

So just before I get into explaining about the prices here in Madrid I'm just

gonna answer a question that I got several times on the last series of

$100 when I was traveling around that time in Eastern Europe and cities like

Brest, Warsaw and Hrodna and that's is why sometimes am I wearing shades inside?

Is it because of branding? Is it to look like you Casey Neistat? Am I blind at times? No!

The actual reason is because I suffer from really bad allergies at times and

if I don't have antihistamines these eyes get really really messed up so this

is actually something why you see me sometimes wearing shades when I'm

vlogging indoors. You can actually see here in the viewfinder I can actually

look at it while I film and it doesn't look weird I see some other vloggers do

that when they look just past the actual lens and not into the lens and speak to

you guys so I always found that a bit strange so now you know I'm not blind

and this is not really branding for ...

So the first thing that you need to do normally when you go traveling other than actually get there and figure how

you gonna fly is of course book your accommodation figure where you're gonna

be staying where is that roof of your head gonna be what's very popular here

in Tenerife in the Canary Islands of course is to rent a villa if you're in a

group you know a nice place with a pool we rented one I was at a business

mastermind actually in the south of the island that's why I originally came here

to Tenerife that cost about a thousand euros a night so about 1250 US dollars

but if you are on your own and you don't want the entire villa to yourself, of course

you can stay in an apartment like this one I got an Airbnb with this nice patio

right in the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is the capital here and

that is about 60 euros a night so about seventy, seventy five US dollars

and night so if you're staying for like say three or four four days here then

that you know it's gonna work out about 250 euros more or less to get this kind

of level of accommodation in the city center.

So unfortunately Uber which is normally my go-to in terms of transport when

I'm traveling doesn't work in Tenerife so I took a taxi from the southern airport

up to the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife and it cost around $100 or 80

euros now if you are looking to rent a car which is not a great option here

then that's gonna set you back thirty to sixty US dollars per day so that's gonna

be roughly around twenty five to fifty euros if you want to take the bus

instead of taking the taxi all the way down from the capital to the southern

airport that's gonna be around ten euros more or less so about twelve dollars

fifty so that's an overview of the price range for transport. So now I'm here on

the main pedestrian street in the centre of Santa Cruz the capital of Tenerife

and if you have a glass of wine it's probably two or three euro for local

wine. That's great value. That's gonna be about yeah three or four dollars US

for that and about 1 euro 25 maybe a $1 25 for your coffee to go for

breakfast like have maybe an orange juice and coffee and yeah something

savory it's probably gonna set you back around about 5 euros here and if you go

for like got dinner was setting me back around 30 euros for maybe two plates

some coffee some wine you know there's water so one of those

kind of typical Spanish plates like with tortilla or chickpeas I had another one

garbanzos. What else did I have huevos con chorizo also seafood we're

here by the sea so go for some pulpo or some octopus something else that's probably

gonna cost you about 10 to 12 euros or twelve to fifteen dollars US so that's

kind of the overview of the restaurants. To sum up so for what can you get for

your 1,000 bucks or about 800 euros against maybe 750 euros well if you stay

for like three or four days and you don't say the Villa of course because

that would be one night gone you could stay in a place like this right in the

center then you could like eat out three times a day you're probably gonna go

through about 50 euros eating reasonably well then if you like

clubbing say the weekend you want to factor in about 50 euros unless

you're getting a table or something that's going to push up the price but I think we have a

few cocktails they were like 10 euros and then the entrance about 10 to

the best club in the island which was Papagayo in the very south at Playa De

Las Américas and then if you do something like maybe you actually

take the catamaran you go out for a day or something like that with some friends

have a party I think you probably be on the money for one thousand dollars

pretty much around that kind of price range. So let me know in the comments

section well the reason as I said this is now $1,000 not $100 is actually a

feedback that I get from you guys that you wanted to see things that were

outside of the kind of budget traveler price range exactly that's why I can

bumped up the price a little bit I'm gonna try and accommodate you and show

you what you really want to see in terms of the prices so keep writing in the

comments below ... whether you find this actually expensive whether you find it

cheap relative to where you live or where you're used to traveling to and yeah I

will see you very soon in the next video that's it from this Tip Thursday from me

Conor Clyne of the Tsar Experience. Adios y hasta luego de Tenerife de Santa

Cruz de Tenerife la capital ... Ciao! [Bye and see you soon from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital, ciao!]

Catholic Kids Homilies- Corpus Christi (Cycle B) What is the Eucharist? - Duration: 2:20.

This Sunday is the feast of Corpus Christi, which is Latin for the Body and Blood of Jesus

Christ!

Why are the Body and Blood of Jesus so important?

To understand that, we have to go WAY back to Genesis.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve ate from the tree that God told them not to eat from.

This was bad because God wants to give us divine life as a gift.

We can't steal it!

This bad meal led to original sin.

Jesus likes good meals.

He liked to sit and eat with his disciples.

He even did miracles to feed people, like when he fed 5000 people with only a few loaves

and fish.

Jesus shows God's desire to undo the bad meal of Eden.

He shows this especially when he celebrates the Passover meal in today's gospel.

Jesus offers the bread and wine as his own body and blood.

His words turn the bread and wine into his body and blood, so when you receive the body

of Christ in the Eucharist, that is actually Jesus himself.

The Eucharist IS Jesus, even though it does not look like him.

Jesus feeds us with his own life, with his own body and blood.

This good meal undoes that bad meal that Adam and Eve had back in the garden.

Every Mass, we share this good meal, but we can't forget that this meal comes at a price.

When our relationship with God is broken, it takes a lot to fix it.

Jesus had to die.

He became a sacrifice for us.

This is why we call Jesus the "lamb of God."

He is like a lamb that is sacrificed because instead of letting us all die Jesus dies,

showing how much he loves us.

And he shows this every time we go to Mass and receive the Eucharist.

What if the Only Proof of Your Legacy was Destroyed? - Duration: 4:42.

Hey Y'all, it's Keisha Shields I just finished up mastermind call and my mentor and

coach Lindsay we were talking about the story of this woman named Mary Dixon

Kies "Keys" (or some people pronounce it as "Kies") and kind of the legacy of her story where was she was the

first woman in the U.S. to be able to author a patent in the early

1800s before then women were not allowed to do so and what was so profound though

about this discussion was that as the legacy of the story goes there was a

fire in the US Patent Office and the only records of her patent approval

burned in a fire right so essentially the legacy that she was known for the

proof of it burned and it kind of got me thinking as I am about to release my

Awaken Your Voice class and I'm gonna host it live I'm super excited because

it ties directly into this. What would you do if the only proof of your legacy that

existed vanished? Whether it burned in a fire or drowned

in the ocean or some other thing happened, what would you do --

what would you do to keep your story alive? How would people know who you are

and your contribution and the powerhouse that you have been like the reason why

we know about her is because of the stories that were passed down and a lot

of us are not telling those stories a lot of us leaders are not telling those

stories. Most of the stories we're talking about surround our business but

what about the personal experiences that you have that have truly shaped who you

are would anybody know if someone says hey

do you guys know about Keisha Shields-- if my proof had vanished would they

know the stories that really exemplify and define who I am and the contribution

I want to leave behind? If someone was to utter your name 100 years from now would

they know the stories that really really tell about who you are and what you've

done and who you're becoming or would there be a blank? "No, we don't know about

her tell us about her." Well ... would there be a blank? That's a

really big deal make sure that your legacy is not only tied to physical

proof and validation make sure that there are stories about you the stories

that you want to be out there that you want associated with your name make sure

that those stories are being told in a way that makes you feel safe that makes

you feel like you are actually being in your truth that makes you feel like

you're actually building a legacy that's not just based on your expertise but

that's based on the experiences that you have made it through don't let your

history your legacy vanish and no one be able to stand up and stand in for you to

talk about the impact. So my question to you is if your proof was to vanish would

we know who you are? Would we be able to understand your legacy? Are you sharing

those stories? Are you afraid to publicly share some of those stories? If you are I

encourage you, strongly encourage you to join me in Awaken Your Voice. I'm running

it live for seven weeks and it is gonna be profound and engaging and fun and

we're gonna cry and laugh and we're gonna have these conversations right

taboo discussions or open discussion because it's important to me that I see

more of our men and women putting their stories out there and using their

stories as a part of legacy as well. That's so important, so tell me would

there be a legacy to pass down about you if poof everything else was gone? I would

love to hear your thoughts about it. Bye!

Manhattanhenge: What to know about NYC's best sunset - Duration: 3:19.

I'm Jackie Faherty an astronomer at the American Museum of Natural History

and your official Manhattanhenge time calculator

Manhattanhenge is the names that we've given to the days of the year,

and there's really two of them when the sun sets perfectly aligned

with the grid of Manhattan, so you go outside and your in the middle of one of the streets

in the grid of Manhattan you'll catch the sun kiss the

the grid just before it goes below the horizon.

Between the couple of day around the may event and before the July event

you get what i'd really call the Manhattanhenge effect.

Where you'll get that beautiful sunset with the canyons lit up in orange and red,

it just wont be the grid kiss that you get on the exact dates that we calculate.

The history of Manhattanhenge, at least why it's an Instagram holiday

Can definitely be traced back to this place, the Hayden Planetarium.

Thats in part because our director here at the Planetarium, Neil deGrasse Tyson was the one who got the word out first.

And with anything that goes viral, its hard to say how and why it happens. But it went viral.

And now Manhattanhenge is this almost US wide phenomenon.

Where it will be trending on your social media. The thing you can thank for Manhattanhenge is nature.

You can thank glaciers, you can thank erosion which shaped Manhattan which shaped the island.

The n you can thank the grid masters of the Plan of 1811. Which set the 90 degree angles across the cross streets of Manhattan.

Essentially when they did that they made a bullseye for the sun to hit twice a year.

So it's both chance and just the luck of nature that

Manhattanhenge happens when it does and that it happens at all.

Manhattanhenge sunset if probably the best of all the henges because we have the best buildings

in order to frame your photographs.

and having the canyons of Manhattan lit up by the beautiful oranges and pinks

of the sunset makes for arguably the most epic city wide sunsets that you're going to get.

The key is you have to be in the middle of the street. Now, there's cars in the middle of the street.

so that's always a bit of game play that you're going to have to do.

You want to be centered in the middle of a cross street.

So I always suggest overpasses, there's a good one on 42nd Street.

At Tudor City which you can safely be perched upon.

But there are a lot of people that will go there.

42nd street Grand Central also has a nice overpass.

You could also go to the otter boroughs to watch.

As long as you have a clear view across to New Jersey., you're going to catch the effect.

If you have to do it in the middle of the street wait for the crosswalk to give you a green.

and then safely wait in the middle of the street while you wait for the sun to hit the grid.

Understanding Model Predictive Control, Part 2: What is MPC? - Duration: 6:08.

In this video, we'll discuss how model predictive controllers work.

In a control problem, the goal of the controller is to calculate the input to the plant such that the plant output follows a desired reference.

A model predictive controller's strategy to compute this input is to predict the future.

It sounds like fortune-telling -- but let's see what it really is.

MPC uses a model of the plant to make predictions about the future plant output behavior.

It also uses an optimizer, which ensures that the predicted future plant output tracks the desired reference.

The following example walks through these steps.

Let's say that this is an autonomous car controlled by an MPC controller to keep it in the middle of this lane.

MPC can handle MIMO systems like this one -- but for simplicity, we'll assume that

the accelerator is fixed, the longitudinal speed is constant

and only the steering wheel angle is being adjusted to control the lateral position of the car.

We'll first focus on how the controller uses the car model, and later we'll discuss the optimizer.

Let's use this plot to show the lateral position of the car.

The vertical axis reflects the current time.

Anything behind it reflects the past, and values to the right of it show the future.

The middle of the lane is the reference. Let's use a green line to show it on the plot.

At the current time, the MPC controller uses the car model to simulate the car's path in the next p time steps if the steering wheel would be turned,

turned, let's say, as seen here. P is a measure of how far ahead MPC looks into the future and is referred to as

the prediction horizon. It's often represented by the length of time into the future or the number of future time steps.

The MPC controller needs to find the best predicted path that is the closest to the reference.

So, it simulates multiple future scenarios like this. However, it doesn't do these simulations in a random order;

instead, it does it in a systematic way. And this is where the optimizer comes into the picture.

By solving an optimization problem, the MPC controller tries to minimize the error between the reference and predicted path of the car.

It also tries to minimize the change in the steering wheel angle from one time step to the next.

Because if the steering wheel is turned sharply, the ride may become uncomfortable for the passengers,

especially if their stomachs are full.

The cost function J of this optimization problem includes both these terms and is represented as a weighted squared sum of

the predicted errors and steering wheel angle increments. While minimizing this cost function,

MPC also makes sure that the steering wheel angle and car's position stay within prescribed limits. These are referred to as constraints.

For example, there's a limit on how far the steering wheel can be turned. Another constraint is on the car's position.

In order to prevent accidents, the car is supposed to stay within the lane without going off the road.

At the current time step, the MPC controller is solving the optimization problem over the prediction horizon

while satisfying the constraints. The predicted path with the smallest J gives the optimal solution,

and therefore determines the optimal steering wheel angle sequence that will get the car as close as possible to the reference.

At the current time step, MPC applies only the first step of this optimal sequence to the car and disregards the rest.

Based on the applied steering wheel angle, the car travels some distance. At the next time step, the controller gets a new measurement of

the car's lateral position. It might be slightly different than what the MPC controller has predicted before.

This could be due to some unmeasured disturbance acting on the car. For example, it might be the wind or slippery road surface.

Now the prediction horizon shifts forward by one time step and the controller repeats the same cycle of calculations to compute the optimal steering wheel angle for the next time

optimal steering wheel angle for the next time step.

Because of the forward-moving nature of the prediction horizon, MPC is also referred to as receding horizon control.

Here we've discussed MPC's working principles using the car example, but in textbooks you'll find generic terminology used for MPC.

For example, the signals computed by the controller and sent to the plant are referred to as manipulated variables,

whereas the plant outputs are called output variables.

You may also notice a state estimator in the feedback diagram. In the car example, we've assumed that the lateral position of the car can

be measured. But if you cannot directly measure the states of a system, they can be estimated by a state estimator and fed back to

the MPC controller. To find out more on state estimators, check out the Controls Tech Talk series on Kalman filters.

In this video, we've used the car example to demonstrate how MPC uses the car model and an optimizer to adjust steering wheel angles

such that the car follows the desired reference. In the next video, we'll discuss MPC design

parameters such as controller sample time, prediction and control horizons, constraints, and weights.

What are the most common mistakes new pastors make? - Duration: 5:09.

(chiming music)

- When a new pastor

assumes his position in the church,

a lot of times what he's shocked to find

is these people are sinners.

And it's often really difficult

for him to see that these people are broken.

Even though they are redeemed

or profess to be,

people are going to hurt you.

They're going to disappoint you.

And a lot of times

a new pastor can have a crisis.

One of the best things that a pastor can do

going into a pastoral role,

it's counterintuitive,

it sounds perhaps the opposite

of what he should do,

but it's lower his expectations of the church.

Raise his expectations of himself.

Because he can't control them.

He can only control himself.

And if he just understands

that I'm going to go into this

with the goal of loving the people

and preaching the Word faithfully,

I'm going to do my best to win people to Christ,

point them to the gospel,

baptize and disciple them,

and I'm not going to be

terribly disappointed and upset

if these people don't do the things

that I think they should do.

Instead I'm going to preach good sermons

to the best of my ability.

I'm going to study well.

I'm going to visit the sick.

I'm going to invite people to church

and try to win them to Christ and disciple them

because that is what I can control.

Another mistake that a young pastor can easily make

is to resent his predecessor.

Especially if he was there for a long tenure.

I can just about guarantee at some point,

someone will look at every pastor and say

you know, you're no, and then fill in the blank

with the name of a predecessor.

Whether it's his immediate predecessor or not,

they will inevitably compare him

to the pastors they've had in the past.

The best move for a young man to make at that point

is to simply plead guilty to that

and say you're exactly right.

I aspire to be as great a pastor as he was.

Would you pray for me

that the Lord will help to be faithful as he was?

Because it just takes time.

Furthermore, that pastor had his same issues.

He had the same problems when he came there.

A young man can't be too overwhelmed by these comparisons.

He needs to understand

that really he's part of God's plan

and the succession of men

that God has brought in

to shepherd and lead the people.

And there will likely be some

that come after him

and the same way he's following others.

Don't resent that.

That's part of God's great plan.

For Elijah there's a successor in Elisha.

And so it is that when we follow good and godly men,

we shouldn't resent that.

We should rejoice God used them.

And then we should be faithful

and stay around long enough

for God to use us in the same way.

Because one day somebody's going to look

at your predecessor and say you know,

you're successor rather,

and say you know, you're not like him.

That's okay.

Because we're all part of God's greater work.

Another thing that a young pastor will do

is that when he faces

the inevitable crisis that comes,

in fact crisis are really pretty regular.

You will have one about a year in

and then again about three years in,

about five years in.

Sometimes when he faces that first crisis,

he'll go through it because he'll say you know,

it's too soon for me to quit.

But then when he faces the second one he'll say,

oh I can't go through this again.

I can't put my wife through this.

And so he'll put the resumes out

and start looking for another place to go.

Maybe he'll succeed and go somewhere else

where he will face a one year crisis

and a three year crisis

and really the same problems.

It's important that a young pastor

determine I'm going to go there

and I'm going to shepherd God's sheep.

They're going to sometimes going to be wayward.

They're sometimes going to be disappointing.

They're not always going to want

what I'm feeding them.

But I'm going to love them anyway.

I'm going to let God speak and work through me.

And as they grow in the Word

and as the pastor simply

walks through life with them

for a longer period of time,

then they begin to grow to each other.

But a guy has to be willing to stick it out

in order to get there.

He can't go in and merely lead.

He's got to lead and feed.

He can't go in and just feed.

He's got to feed and lead.

Both things are required

to really be a shepherd of God's people.

How to Answer: What Are Your Greatest Strengths? (Job Interview Questions Guide + 3 Examples) - Duration: 6:33.

I am Marat from EMMOTION, HR Professional and Career Coach and today I will help you

reply "What are your greatest strengths?"

question.

I am also sharing with you 3 adaptable examples, which could serve you as inspiration while

putting up together your own response.

"What are your strengths?" is a classic interview question, it seems simple, but it isn't.

It requires a balance between not appearing too humble and underselling your achievements

or skills, and between selling yourself too much, coming across arrogant and self-interested.

This is the main reason why most candidates don't answer well.

Let's prepare to this question properly and turn it into a great advantage.

"What are your biggest strengths?"

question can also be asked in other similar ways:

What are you good at and how would you apply that to this role?

What do you feel sets you apart from the competition?

What would your colleagues say you bring to a team?

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

ETC...

The interviewer wants to know how would your strengths translate to the job you've applied

for.

It is your moment to demonstrate this connection and reassure them in being a strong candidate.

Important checklist before we proceed to full examples:

1.

Analyze yourself and be honest with your answer.

Choose strengths that you actually possess.

Knowing your strengths will serve you well in job interviews and in the rest of your

life too.

Keep it to a couple of strengths, so it will make yours preparation easier.

It's about your strengths and not the achievements, make sure you separate them.

2.

.

Take a close look at the job description, figure out what the job requires and what

is important to the company.

The idea is being honest and giving the company what they respond best to.

Demonstrate your ability to settle into the job faster and perform better than other candidates.

Don't raise any red flags!

Saying that your greatest strength is the ability to show up on time, for example, would

not do you any favours.

3.

Prepare Specific and Detailed Examples:

Giving a detailed example makes your answer powerful.

Don't wait for the interviewer to ask you to elaborate on your strengths.

Many times they won't.

Talk about how you used this strength to achieve a specific result.

Be prepared for the follow up questions like: How did you use this strength in your previous

role?

For example.

Here are a few examples some of which can easily be adapted to your profile.

Customer Service related example: "I feel I am really customer oriented, I am

good in interacting with people and helping them solve their doubts or problems, whether

it's in person, on the phone, via email or online messaging.

I've been an online customer service manager for over 2 years, and I enjoy dealing with

people around the whole world.

My employer has high standards for customer satisfaction.

My team and I have been trained to defuse angry customers so they can be helped and,

even be satisfied with our services.

We are measured on how satisfied people are after they've spoken to us, and if they purchase

additional products and services as a result of our interactions.

I'm proud to say that my team and I are among the leaders within the company."

Examples about leadership: "I pride myself on my leadership and my

team management skills.

My leadership skills had always come natural, I managed to develop them through supervising

junior team members with a guidance of my former manager.

Leadership is necessary to keep project teams moving in the right direction.

Finishing projects on-time, on-budget, and meeting both technical and business requirements

took substantial planning and management skills.

Especially when half of the team members didn't directly report to me.

I've been an IT project manager for over 4 years, managing 9 major projects at this time

frame.

All those projects are completed on schedule and were considered successes.

I also trained 4 team members so they were promoted to project management positions.

"My greatest strength is my diplomacy.

I had never thought of this as a strength until my managers pointed it out to me.

Once they did, I realized it's a skill I can use to benefit everyone involved on the

job.

Recently, I helped to resolve a situation which was about to go very badly.

We had a client make so many demands which seemed unreasonable to our team that we were

about to finish our collaboration.

Our team and the client were feeling despair over this situation.

Through face-to-face meetings that I arranged with all 20 people involved, we were able

to re-establish a good relationship and get the project back on track.

I was awarded an "Employee of the Year Award" for my efforts to delay the firing and for

saving this collaboration."

Generic Example: I have very strong communication skills.

Whether it is over the phone, in person, or written, I tend to express myself in a clear

and concise manner.

I received several positive feedbacks from my manager for solving difficult situations

with my strong communication skills, and I even got an acknowledgment in the company

newsletter for just being really good at talking to clients.

I think this strength will help me to do well on the job since being a receptionist requires

interfacing with individuals from different backgrounds.

I'll be able to make each person feel welcome and that their business is valued.

Keep it short and to the point.

Practice a couple of times before the interview to make a stronger impact and to answer with

confidence.

Thanks for watching.

WHAT IS BITCOIN? | Financially Fabulous - Duration: 18:23.

Bitcoin Bitcoin what is Bitcoin I know you've heard of somebody who has made so

much money with Bitcoin and I'm sure you're excited to learn about it my name

is Limor and I'm gonna show you how to crush it with your finances today's

episode I'm gonna be explaining Bitcoin come on this will be fabulous

Bitcoin is in fact a cryptocurrency let's focus on the second word their currency now let's

talk about currencies more generally because I think that might help kind of

put everything in context together so right now in the world every country or

group of countries has a currency associated with so if you live in Canada

of course you have the Canadian dollar if you're in the US we've got the US

dollar if you're somewhere in Europe well you've got the Euro all of these

types of currencies are actually called Fiat basically that just means that the

government has identified those as the currencies for legal tender in that

particular country or area now let's blow this out okay go crazy in your

imagination if we look at the world in totality what would happen if we were to

overlay one currency that could be traded or used across all the countries

of the world and there you have Bitcoin now Bitcoin is brand new or seemingly

brand-new in the main Stream anyways it's been around since 2009 and because

it's not associated with a specific country there isn't a government that

governs or dictates or talks about what happens with the Bitcoin or with

cryptocurrency in general and so this is called a decentralized model and one of

its nuances is that of course it the currency isn't backed by anything

there's no real estate behind it there's no stock behind it there's no gold

behind it and this tends to freak people out but you know what the truth is all

of our currencies aren't backed by an we've just been using them for so long

that we don't even stop to think about it you know just kind of commonplace

that you go out you earn this currency you use it you shop with it all that

kind of good stuff and you don't think twice about it now

with the introduction with Bitcoin and crypto currencies well people are

feeling a little bit heebie-jeebie about the fact that there's no no backing

behind it the interesting thing of it though

is actually how this came to be and the technology that lives behind it which

makes this all possible and it's actually called the blockchain you've

probably heard of it but it's just as cryptic of a word as Bitcoin so let's

explain what blockchain is blockchain is basically a transparent ledger that

is housed on a global network that tracks all of the transactions that are

happening within the cryptocurrency space this new technology is really cool

because it is really really safe and really really secure so if you think

about it a particular company or a particular country you may have some of

their data stored on a particular computer on a series of computers on

some servers but when it comes to Bitcoin and the blockchain and the way

that's actually tracked it is on so many computers that it's virtually impossible

for it to be hacked because all of them would need to be hacked simultaneously

that's what makes it really really secure now on top of that what's also

really neat is the fact that for those of us who are transacting or all wallets

or individuals participating in the cryptocurrency world you're actually

anonymous now I know some people freaked out at that and sort of think well Oh

cryptocurrency must be for all these like scams and all these sort of shady

things and yeah no doubt I'm sure there's some of that that's going on but

the truth is for most of us it's just nice to be able to transact in an

anonymous way in a way that we are actually control of what's happening and

nobody really knows what we're doing and so within the blockchain we are able to

be completely anonymous all of the data is

completely transparent but it's no longer connected to you as an individual

you've got a wallet address or an ID where you're self identifying so if you

want to make a transaction you'd of course you know if you're transferring

money you'd need to share what where you're transferring from because it's

completely transparent on the ledger but you as an individual do not have your

name and your identity connected to your wallet address or your wallet ID bear

with me and let's take a look at an example together so let's say that we

have got three particular individuals let's call them alpha Bravo and Charlie

and let's say that right now alpha has 10 Bitcoin at the time that I'm filming

this video you should know that a single Bitcoin is worth $9,000 so in this

instance this individual would have $90,000 $90,000 US dollars worth of Bitcoin but

let's not worry about that for now let's just keep it with simple numbers

so we've got alpha alphas got 10 Bitcoin now alpha wants to give Bravo 5 Bitcoin

so maybe in return they're doing some services maybe they're purchasing

something maybe it's a gift that's not really the point of this but we can see

because alphas wallet is public on the blockchain it's very easy to see what

the wallet address of alpha is at how much money is there and so you can see

that there's 10 Bitcoin and so when alpha wants to give Bravo 5 Bitcoin of

course you can see that there's enough Bitcoin there alpha transfer to Bravo

5 Bitcoin and so now alpha is left with 5 Bitcoin now this particular

transaction is of course tracked on the ledger on the blockchain which is housed

on many many many many computers and so that's then public record that alpha

transferred 5 bitcoin to Bravo now Bravo has 5 Bitcoin and that can be

viewed as well on the blockchain now let's say that

Bravo wants to transfer three Bitcoin to charlie so of course there has to be a

verification and the verification of that process is actually even called

mining I'll get into that in another video but essentially there is an

element where there is confirmation that of course Bravo has the five Bitcoin and

of course that's more than three which she wants to give to Charlie

so then three of the Bitcoin are transferred from the wallet address of

Bravo down to Charlie and then Charlie now has three Bitcoin now if we go back

to take a look at alpha at this point in time alpha still has five Bitcoin now if

alpha wants to do a business transaction or a barter I should say more

appropriately with Charlie that's going to cost six Bitcoin it's very easy to

verify that in fact alpha doesn't have six Bitcoin and so part of this

verification is where all these other miners come into play and take a look to

verify the transaction whether it's there or it's not

it's very quickly identify that the money isn't there

so of course alpha cannot transfer that down to Charlie now I don't want you to

get too confused on the actual elements of this particular example but the

things that are really important to note is that it's very safe the blockchain

it's very secure it's completely transparent and you can remain anonymous

and all of this makes the process very different than the way it exists in

current day when we're transacting with actual physical currency and hopefully

you can see that if you wanted to buy your own Bitcoin and I should actually

note that there's currently over 1,500 coins and currencies and tokens and I'll

explain that in a separate video the difference between those but if you

wanted to purchase your own cryptocurrency at this point in time

like buy into one that's already existing one of the easiest ways to be

able to do that is through an existing exchange now there's lots of exchanges

some of them are newer some of them larger in terms of trade volume and you

know we talk about Bitcoin because it's kind of like the main one but it's also

kind of like calling tissue Kleenex in the sense that it's what become has

become mainstream but there's tons of different crypto currencies out there

and especially with Bitcoin and its value being so high I mean when it's

thousands of thousands of dollars you're not really gonna use it to buy a cup of

coffee or those small micro transactions if you do want to purchase a

cryptocurrency the easiest way to do it is through an exchange but the challenge

is that it's still not a user-friendly easy simple process and that's partially

because this was all created by you know all those brilliant computer folks who

created the process and it wasn't really intended initially at least to be

mainstream and it hasn't become that user-friendly yet so downloading wallets

is still a little bit clunky when you transfer your money into the exchange

whether you wire it or email transfer it it takes a couple of days before you get

your Bitcoin and then if you wanted to use for a different currency you'd have

to exchange it on one of the many exchanges that are out there and I

should note that actually unlike stocks typically a cryptocurrency will be

traded on multiple exchanges usually in and around the same value but you know

you will have to go through all of those various steps if you want to buy and you

want to get into it now I should also explain that there's two

main reasons that people really get into cryptocurrency one is because they want

to make money of course we all want to make money I want to make money I know

you want to make money but when you want to make money there's kind of a couple

things that are happening within that umbrella of making money so the first

one is something like day trading where there's all these different currencies

and coins out there and you know the goal is to buy and have the value go up

and then sell and of course so many of us end up doing that backwards you know

we buy up here and we sell down here but anyways with a very very volatile

currencies there's an opportunity that if you

buy in the right place and you sell in the right place you will make a lot of

money and that's probably what a lot of the media and hype and trends has really

all been about and within that same umbrella there's also those individuals

who are looking to buy a currency in the crypto world you know have it go up over

time and then sell it and be able to use that money for something significant in

your life later maybe it's retirement or buying a home or something like that so

section number one is really about making money and the second reason why

people really get into cryptocurrency which is a little bit more about its

intended origin if I understand correctly is that people want to be able

to use it people want to be able to barter it for stuff trade it for stuff

be able to transfer money in a much easier way and there's actually a ton of

benefits in the cryptocurrency world and that's a lot of the time I think what

people are actually initially forgetting with all the hype of oh my gosh let's

make money oh there's this coin oh I'm making all this money that's really

initially intended to be able to use it so let me give you another example um me

and my grandma my lovely grandma who lives in Cape Town South Africa and I

live in Toronto Canada now let's say that it is her birthday coming up and I

want to be able to send her to the spa for the day so I may reach out to my

aunt in Cape Town and say hey I'd love for you to take gran to the spa for me

on her birthday and so historically if I wanted to do something like that I would

obviously need to be super proactive and tell my aunt sometime in advance I would

likely go into my bank tell them how much I want to transfer they would take

a fee and realistically it would take a week maybe a little bit longer for the

money to be able to be transferred and of course they've taken a cut in the

process and no joke this is definitely an expensive thing to do and it has been

quite expensive in the past trust me I've sent money across the world and so

if we sort of fast forward to what we're looking at here with cryptocurrency if I

have a wallet and my aunt has a wallet well what I can do is send the

cryptocurrency directly to her it happens very very quickly and there's no

transaction fees in the process and nobody else has known from a banking

perspective what I have or haven't done now of course I'm not doing anything

sneaky I'm just trying to take my grandmother to the spa for her birthday

but it's nice to know that I have this complete control over my money and what

it's doing and that it can get there really really quickly in fact the other

day I was on the phone with a friend of mine and he was transferring money to

Peru to a friend of his there and we timed it and it took 38 seconds for the

money to get there now that is probably on a slow day but pretty cool that that

really changes things so transferring money is so much quicker there's no fees

in the middle now of course there are elements of downside in the sense that

you know you can't get the money transfer back if you need to if you know

you you mess up your wallet and it's on your computer and you haven't back

anything up and you smash your computer and it's completely gone to bits you

know you can't get it back so there's some safety precautions to be taken when

you're you know in cryptocurrency but that is so cool I could now send money

across the world by wallets I know you can do it via text messages and so you

know for folks who maybe don't have access to the kind of banking that we do

here in North America you know they now have access to banking

in a whole nother crazy way that's far more cost-effective and so you know one

way is of course transferring money across the world but there's lots of

other uses you like you know taking the currency that you have and bartering it

and I'm using the word barter because that's I guess what it's really called

for all kinds of services so a currency that I'm really involved in and please

don't take this as investing advice it's called Niko which is nikola tesla's

coin and it's not one of those you know oh let's create a trump coin I've

actually seen all of the branding and all of the official letterhead to be

able to use the Nikola Tesla names for the coin called Niko now I have in my

area here a plumber who accepts Niko a co-working space there's charities so I

can actually start to use the currency in a whole nother way and what's neat

about some of these other currencies that aren't necessarily Bitcoin is that

you know when when bitcoin is nine thousand dollars you know it's really

hard to really transact in all these microwaves

whereas when I'm using other currencies or if you're using other currencies that

are far smaller the transaction fees are really low and you're not using a piece

of a really big pie if you will which is a Bitcoin to be able to be doing that

kind of transaction I know there's a ton of speculation on cryptocurrency then

Bitcoin and all that other kind of fun stuff but you know I think it's really

here to stay is it gonna look like what it looks like now I have no idea I do

not have a crystal ball all I know is that it's this really new concept it's

this really new world that so many of us are participating in I will give you my

giant warning that says there is a ton of volatility it goes up it goes down

it's not backed by anything as I mentioned already earlier and so never

never consider putting money into crypto currencies

unless it's money that you are prepared to lose because there is a ton of

speculation and in many sense is still an element of gambling and you've worked

really hard for your money and I don't want you to lose it I want you to live

your financially fabulous life so I hope you enjoyed this video and that the

world of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin is a little bit easier for you to understand

What Is Keeping You Awake at Night? - Duration: 3:25.

All right. I have to ask you a question.

Do you ever lie awake, in your bed,

just like staring at the ceiling, wondering

about something that you thought you forgot?

Did you forget

to turn off the grill?

Did you forget to send a birthday card?

Did you forget to send an email?

Did you forget your son's birthday?

Did you forget to feed the dog?

No, I'm kidding.

I always remember to feed the dog.

Now all these things, you know

they keep you awake.

And they actually tell you,

the people who study this kind of stuff,

say put a pad of paper

and you should wake up and just write it down

and get it out of your head

so you can fall back asleep.

However,

my guess

is the things that keep you awake at night

are not the things you forgot,

but the things you can't forget.

Or the things that you've done.

Or the things you said.

Or the way you wrecked a relationship

and it just weighs, weighs heavy on you.

If you want to know how to stay positive

in a situation, I can tell you this:

It is nearly impossible

to stay positive in any kind of life,

in any kind of walk with God

when you have all this baggage from work.

Maybe your finances are, are tight.

Or you're having a relationship issue.

Or you're having all these struggles.

I know it's absolutely impossible

to find any kind of rest

if you have the baggage of sin

and the guilt and shame that goes with it.

And what I tell myself when people ask me

about comfort,

I find it amazing that

what effort God went through

to make sure that our salvation was secure.

That he went all the way to a real cross

and he died and he suffered

and he went to hell just for you and me.

But I find it even more fascinating

the effort that God went through

to convince us that it's true.

Seven hundred years before Jesus came,

God tells us and predicts that

he would take on our iniquities

and our sins on his back.

And in the Psalm 103,

It says in Isaiah 43

that our sins are blotted out.

They're bleached out.

And then God gives us his meal.

And if you've ever wondered,

"Am I really forgiven?"

When God says, "This is my true body and blood

"for the forgiveness of sins,"

who do you think he's talking to as you

take that bread and you take that wine?

There's no doubt,

it's you.

We can be positive in this world as we wake up.

And we don't have to lie awake at night

because we're, we're struggling.

Because we know God took away our sins

not just so we can sleep at night.

He took our sins away so that

we can be with him forever.

That, I am positive of.

Let's pray.

God, how can we be positive

when we are so often weighed down

by our own mistakes and

the wrongs we do.

We want to bury them and

we don't want to know what they are.

However,

keep our eyes on a simple truth,

one that makes sense to us.

One that makes us positive

and live differently.

One that says very simply,

"We are your forgiven children

"and let us rest in peace."

Amen.

Many of us have been there.

Experiencing grief from a heavy loss

that happened in our life.

And when you're in that, it's a dark, dark time.

But through those darkness,

those dark moments,

God can bring a beautiful light

when it's shined on Jesus.

That's why I want to tell you about

a great new book that we have.

It's called "Grief Doesn't Have the Last Word."

It's written by Pastor Kurt Ebert,

who brings his first-hand experience

to give you comfort

in a time of difficulty that you're in right now.

Dr. Timothy Connelly - What Live your healthy Means to Me - Duration: 0:57.

- [Timothy] Hello, I'm Dr. Timothy Connelly.

I'm a faculty physician

in the Internal Medicine Residency Program.

It's my job to teach the next generation of doctors.

I come from a very different place

than most of my colleagues.

My mom and I were homeless for a while.

For almost two years, we lived in the back of a car.

The hardest part, though, was losing my dad at a young age.

While I was at the hospital with him,

I decided I wanna be a doctor.

I was scared, frustrated,

and I didn't know what was going on.

I knew I could take how I felt and put it to work.

So I saved and saved for school

to become a physician's assistant.

Then saved and saved for medical school.

And here I am.

To be the best primary care physician,

you need to build relationships with your patients.

That's what I teach my students.

Communications is key.

I also teach them anything is possible.

I'm proof of that.

I love where I work, and I'm so proud of my team

for helping their patients live their healthy.

BREAKING News Out Of China - LOOK WHAT THEY'RE DOING RIGHT NOW!!! - Duration: 2:51.

Experts warn of an increase in the risk of conflict after word surfaced that China was

ramping up a nuclear arms race with the United States and Russia.

According to Chinese state media, a number of their recent nuclear arms tests have "outpaced"

the US.

Between September 2014 and last December, China carried out around 200 laboratory experiments

to simulate the extreme physics of a nuclear blast, the China Academy of Engineering Physics

reported in a document released by the government earlier this year and reviewed by the South

China Morning Post this month.

The US only carried out only 50 simulated tests between 2012 and 2017, which comes out

to about 10 a year according to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

These types of tests are typically carried out using high-powered gas guns which fire

projectiles at weapons-grade materials in laboratories.

Over the past three years, Chinese nuclear scientists have performed more such tests

than their American counterparts have in 15 years.

On the other hand, China's live tests were outpaced by the US.

The US has detonated more than 1,000 nuclear warheads since 1945 when a nuclear bomb was

set off for the first time as part of the Manhattan Project.

In contrast, China has carried out only 45 live tests starting from 1964.

"It is possible we are in a hurry to catch up," according to Professor Wang Chuanbin,

from the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing

at the Wuhan University of Technology.

Experts are warning that as China continues to increase their nuclear arms race pace,

the threat of conflict rises substantially.

As China joins the US and Russia in pursuing more targeted nuclear weapons as a deterrent

against potential threats, the looming arms race would, in fact, serve the opposite purpose

by increasing the risk of a nuclear conflict.

Pentagon officials have said the US wants its enemies to believe it might actually use

its new-generation weapons, such as smaller, smarter tactical warheads designed to limit

damages by destroying only specific targets.

But with these relatively safer and less destructive weapons in hand, governments may end up losing

the inhibition to use them.

"The use of small warheads will lead to the use of bigger ones," Beijing-based naval

expert Li Jie told the Post.

"If other countries use nuclear weapons on us, we have to retaliate.

This is probably why there is research to develop new weapons," Li said.

Basically, even though China says they don't intend to ever use these weapons of mass destruction,

it is still highly necessary that they develop them anyway.
