hello everyone, it's Lavennz here and welcome to today's video.

And today I'm going to talk about this painting that I have completed and vanished the week

before I go to Pasadena and Los Angeles so if you remember a film partially of my last video,

the Sketchbook Tour, in the hotel room I stay in Pasadena

so right now I'm back to Maine since Tuesday and

I'm kind of miss those wonderful moments I have in Southern California

I love the food there, the scenery, the weather, the unique houses I saw around Pasadena

which I never saw this kind of building somewhere else but maybe in Mexico or

Southern America which I haven't visited yet and I also did some

watercolor landscape sketches in my travelers notebook and some travel diary

so this is the mountain view I saw from the windows of my hotel room

based on the map this mountains is supposed to be call as

Angeles National Forest

and I was really inspired by the view to

use the cold earth tone the paint the rock and the mountains and the skies

and I'm definitely going to use these color scheme in my next video

so the second sketch is a sunset sky view.

I'm not very good in watercolor landscape painting so

it looks rather like ocean or something abstract not cloud and sky

so that's just two sketches I did there

and I also spent a day in Universal Studio Hollywood which is so much fun

and I love the studio tour around Hollywood and also the 3D rides yeah

that's amazing and I love the feeling they create in their Harry Potter world.

I don't have a good picture because I didn't bring my

cameras to the park I just want to enjoy have fun there

but well, this is what it looks like based on the plastic bag from the souvenir I bought.

I only bought two souvenir there for myself so the one this one is what I'm wearing, the Gryffindor scarf.

Well, it looked like a typical scarf if you're not the Harry Potter fan

but I am so, I know this is Gryffindor scarf and I also yep here's the bag

I also bought a magic one from Ollivanders

The wand I choose is the great wizard, Professor Dumbledore

it comes in the box. It's a collectible artifact

And this is what Dumbledore's wand look like

I'm not going to play with it or maybe I will when there's no one around

yeah but this is something I'm interested to collect and I keep it in my studio with me

I was thinking that maybe I would do a painting with a witch or wizard and a wand in the hand

so this would be the perfect props for the painting reference photo.

so let's get back to today's topic which is this painting

I call her 'Her Little Paradise'

and this is the first ever painting I do on darker

skin tone and I already show you the portrait study of the painting in September video

so I take a new approach in painting this piece which I'm going

to show you in the painting time-lapse later in these video

basically I do a lot of wet on wet technique in the painting background and I have two

important secret ingredient, magic ingredient, that make the background

shine and sparkly and reactive with light you can see I hope you can

see it I see the purple here is more vivid when there's a light shining on it

and when you turn, err, it's not so easy to see but in in real life you will notice the difference and

special ingredient is I already show you in my previous videos which is the interference powder pigment

the one I Jacquard Pearl Ex Pigment Powder and I'm using the green and violet

The pigment powder itself is very pale that you can

hardly see the colors on it but when you apply this on the darker background

the colors will come out vividly very saturated especially when they

reflecting the light

so I really love the sparkly starry background this the

sparkly starry background of the painting is very fantasy which is

actually the purpose of this background in the painting

is to represent the unrealistic the the fantasies of this lady which

mean is something she dream of

and to bring the painting balance in between fantasy and reality

I also add some laundry earring, the hanging laundry earrings from her ears

well I know it's weird but I don't know I just have this idea like

something just hanging on our head to remind us, hanging around ears to remind us

what's the reality needs and how to do to survive and to me

laundry is one of the best thing to represent reality because this is

something that we don't, nobody love to do laundry and I know

even my mother who is very clean and tidy but I don't think she enjoyed laundry as well

so and me myself don't, but we have to do it right otherwise we'll ran out of clothes to wear

unless you're very rich, you just buy one and throw it away after you wore which is a waste

add a house on top of the lady, is

represent something that she dream and could be a reality if she approaching it

so basically this painting is about dream

so to me, dream is something's come up from our fantasy and we try our best effort to bring it to reality which

mean making the dream comes true thus

without actions, it's not a dream. It's daydreaming

and so as we must always that

I feel that we must always remember

what we truly want, our honest desire the rooted deeply in our heart and we

have to like take one step at a time in approaching this dream to bring is the reality

and when it happened we are living in

our own little paradise that built with our own hands so

well that's the basic ideas, the basic concepts of this painting I have

but if I'm going to go into the detail, each of my ideas of this painting

this videos were going like last, I don't know, maybe hours if I can talk too much

Yeah I'm not usually can talk so fluently and honestly I actually have to write up

some what I want to talk before I actually firming it because I always, my mind

always go blank so I guess I have to like train on public speaking right

Affect and Effect: What's the difference? - Duration: 4:29.

Hello everybody.

The aim of this particular video is to effect a greater

understanding of the difference between affect and effect affecting your

understanding of English as a whole with the effect that you don't have to affect

an understanding of the difference between affect and effect.

This is how to teach English

If you search the internet for the difference between affect and effect,

you will come across this saying:

but this is only partially true because affect and effect can be both nouns and verbs.

We use affect as a verb when we want to talk about adjusting or altering something.

Effect, as a noun, is the end result of that change.

For example: the images that you are looking at now are affecting your concentration.

The effect is that you are not really paying attention to what I'm saying to you.

The best way to remember all this is that 'A' comes before 'E'

and affect comes before effect

so therefore, the action, the process of change, has to come before the result of that change

As I've already said, affect as a verb and effect as a noun is only half the story,

but it is the most common way that we use these two words

It will, however, affect your understanding of these two words.

and it means to bring into existence something that is intangible or conceptual

An introvert may have to learn and adopt

the affects of an extrovert

Cultural Difference Between the U.S and Korea Shown Through BTS Interview

BTS recently had their visit to the U. S and attended various programs, most importantly American Music Awards (AMA )and Ellen Degeneres Show.

Before and after attending the AMA, they had a couple of short interviews and some deep talk on the Ellen show. During those interviews, the questions asked stunned BTS members.

Why? Because the questions were something that is PROHIBITED implicitly to idols. Can you think of the questions that idols try to avoid and interviewers rarely question in a serious way? . The answer is the questions about girlfriends or boyfriends.

This may not be understood by the people living the western culture where celebrities freely go on dating other celebs or ordinary people publicly. There is nothing wrong with that.

However, in eastern culture, or probably in Korea, its hard for idols to be in a relationship. Its not prohibited officially but as soon as one goes public about ones relationship with another, their reputation and fame drop.

Fans leave them for dating. . I know, its pretty harsh but thats how the idol-culture settled in. The distance fans feel towards ordinary celebs and idols is different, for that of idols are much much closer. .

Dont believe me? Well, this cultural difference was clearly shown through the interviews BTS had in the U. 1st – Ellen Degeneres Show. Ellentube.

Ellen asks, Have you ever hooked up with an Army (fans of BTS)? (Rap Monster was the only one who could understand what she said without translation, so he burst into laughter alone).

Ellentube. The translator weakens the meaning of hooked up and say, Have you ever dated any Army. RM: We are dating our Army right now! (Looking at the fans, trying to get over with the question LOL).

Ellentube.

Ellen does not give up and ask again the question. This time she asks the translator to translate it without changing the meaning. But the translator (panicking himself as well) asks Have you met your fans privately?.

V shouts out Not (No)! strongly! . A similar question was asked in an interview.

The interviewee asked, why no one brought their girlfriends with them here. All BTS members answer with silence and looking at a different direction away from the interviewee in panic. .

Rap Monster, who is able to speak fluent English, jokes, help me get one. Then the interviewee goes serious and asks if he is looking for one. Rap Monster gives an awkward laugh and answer he has Amry with him.

He adds We brought thousands of our girlfriends here today.

In another interview, when they were asked by How would you tell this to your girlfriend, Jin answered, I cannot think. (They were answering other questions so well before this.

These questions asked by Ellen as well as the interviewee was a casual thing to ask in the western culture. However, in Korea, where idols dating officially is not viewed positively, the questions were hard to answer and awkward as ever!.

Trump Reveals WH Christmas Card, Americans Quickly Notice 1 HUGE Difference From Obama's - Duration: 4:45.

Christmas has descended on the White House, where Monday marked the official start of

the holiday festivities at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Along with First Lady Melania Trump's jaw-dropping decorations, the First Family's official

Christmas card was also unveiled.

Americans quickly noticed that there is one huge difference between what the Trumps are

sending out this year versus what the Obamas did last year.

The First Family spent their Thanksgiving holiday at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago

estate in Palm Beach, Florida, and when they returned to Washington, D.C., they wasted

no time in kicking off the Christmas season.

On Monday, First Lady Melania Trump unveiled the White House Christmas decorations which

she has been preparing for months.

In keeping with this year's theme, which is "Time-Honored Traditions," Melania's

decor includes wreaths, peppermint candies in the Red Room, and an entire tree dedicated

to Gold Star families.

Among the new touches this year: On the outside, wreaths topped with red bows adorn every White

House window.

Inside, glistening wintry branches line both sides of an East Wing hallway that leads guests

to a tree decorated with the Trump family's official Christmas ornament, a gold-toned

bauble featuring the presidential coat of arms surrounded by a wreath of holly.

House this year after eight years of the Obama administration, which seemingly did its very

best to ruin everything about the holiday, even adorning the White House Christmas trees

with Communist leaders and drag queens.

Not far away, Barack Obama is making a play to have his head etched in stone.

Critics of President Obama are setting their sights this week on the official White House

Christmas tree, which features controversial ornaments including an orb depicting the late

Chinese dictator, another that shows drag queen Hedda Lettuce, and yet another that

shows a picture of Mount Rushmore — with Obama's head pasted to the side of Washington,

Lincoln, Jefferson and Roosevelt's.

And, Christmas at the White House wouldn't be complete without a carefully-crafted Christmas

decorations, is another welcome departure from what Obama sent out in 2016.

The most notable difference is that Obama's politically correct card wished Americans

"Happy Holidays," while Trump's card says, "Merry Christmas."

On Monday, the Trump family debuted their holiday card, which wishes Americans a Merry

Christmas and a Happy New Year, instead of the generic, more politically correct, 'Happy

Holidays.'

That's different from last year's card sent out by President Obama, which included

a family photo and wished Americans a 'joyous holiday season.'

by President Trump, his beautiful wife Melania, and their 11-year-old son Barron, who is also

featured prominently in this year's White House Christmas tour.

Guests who come to view the decorations at the executive residence will be treated to

booklet.

The booklet begins with a cartoon version of Barron on the cover guiding the horse-drawn

carriage which delivered the White House's Christmas tree.

Barron wasn't actually behind the wheel when the 18-foot, 6-inch Wisconsin-grown Balsam

Fir was delivered last week, but alongside his mother, he did receive the massive tree,

which is now displayed in the White House's Blue Room.

The Trump Family's Christmas card is displayed in the "Bookseller's" area of the White

House for all to see.

His supporters can chock it up to another campaign promise kept by the president, who

infamously pledged to "say Merry Christmas again."

Trump repeated that pledge most recently in October at the Values Voter Summit when he

said, "They don't use the word 'Christmas' because it's not politically correct.

We're saying 'Merry Christmas' again."
