Looks really crispy
Delicious!
A few days ago, I posted in our Facebook page of our next tour which is Bicol Epic Ride 2017
The last 3 days are like Christmas countdown
I stayed up late 2 days before the trip
So I'll feel sleepy the day before the trip to guarantee that I will doze off.
I have a tendency to be overexcited which makes it harder to sleep.
Because I listen to your suggestions,
I replaced my windshield with a shorter one
So you can clearly see what is in front of the camera
The day before our trip we noticed dark clouds forming
We checked the weather forecast in Bicol Region and we didn't like what we saw.
It says thunderstorms for the next days
But because we are already decided, rain or shine, we will push through with the plan.
This is what our trip looks like.
We met at 7-11 at 4:30 AM to have coffee or light breakfast before we leave.
The light is so bright
Oh just one
Oh you have it installed
Here are the members of the group
First stop is in a gas station right before the Eco Tourism road in San Juan, Batangas
I set up a second action camera
that is attached to my top box to try a different angle.
The quality is not the same as the one I'm using
but at least we can try
These kinds of shots have potential
However, after a while, the camera tilted.
The mount was not enough for the bumps.
Shortly, KJ King noticed it and tried to fix it.
But because the mount was weak, the plastic snapped, destroying it entirely.
Anyway, the trip continues despite the heavy rain. Nice huh
We stopped by near the Old Zigzag road
to discuss where we will have our breakfast
and everyone agreed to eat at Gumaca, Quezon, along the coastal road.
This guy became so conscious when he noticed a camera on my helmet pointed at him.
We chose Daph's restaurant for our breakfast.
Two members got ahead so they decided to eat in another restaurant instead of going back.
Ok we're here at Gumaca
As you can see, we were unfortunate with the weather so we had to wear rain coats
By the way, here's our group
How's the breakfast? What can you say about the food?
It wasn't enough
The "Bistek" was really sour
I haven't slept yet.
Delicious
We enjoyed it
Next stop is Andaya Highway
Around 100 more kilometers
We can already see from afar how the weather is.
As we rode to get to the rest of the group
The rain poured like a storm
I couldn't hear what they were talking about but it seems they are discussing if we will still continue our trip.
The desire to go to Bicol won over the bad weather.
As the Pabebe girls said,
NOTHING CAN STOP US
We dropped by Lopez town to rest for a bit and remove our rain coats
At last, the rain stopped.
I was moving fast when I noticed the arc that says "Gateway to Bicolandia."
And because a lot of people take photos here, why wouldn't I?
The group was kind enough to wait for me.
I thought I was about to witness a head on collision.
Good thing the truck was still able to brake.
Finally we arrived at Andaya highway
which is notorious for having a long stretch of road and some bad road condition.
You have to be careful when you decide to use this road
It has a lot of deep and wide potholes
If you're going too fast
You might have a hard time avoiding them and might ruin your tires, or worse, have an accident.
Also include undisciplined drivers like this one who overtook the truck despite the incoming vehicle on the opposing lane
But there are still some good portion of Andaya highway
The group got separated
Big bikes was ahead, as expected.
And there were also who were behind.
I was the one in the middle, alone.
I stopped by Petron gas station for a comfort break.
"Pee - 5 pesos Poop - 10 pesos"
The location of the mirror was fantastic
it's like pegged at full frontal nudity
good thing there are posters
otherwise, you might get hypnotized with what you see
Because we are obedient...
I caught up with the group in a gas station, having snacks
They said it is for pre-lunch
But it seems to be more than snacks because they almost finished a whole loaf of bread.
It's almost empty!
After a while, the group was complete again so we left immediately.
This is the end of the Andaya highway in Sipocot town
We are almost in Naga where we'll have our lunch
At last we reached Bob Marlin
But I was the only one there
The guard was really helpful
I left my helmet on the table to have it reserved for us.
When they arrived, they chose to eat Al Fresco
because we feel conscious with all the dirty clothes and smell.
That didn't come to my mind
No wonder the people inside looks at me like a stinky rat
Bob Marlin is famous for their Crispy Pata
That's why we ordered it even though some in the group are worried about their high blood pressure
Looks like this isn't enough for all of us
What else can we order?
"What was the other one you mentioned as one of the best sellers?"
Cow's blood sir
Bloody cow???
Let's eat
You're taking too much pictures you'll ran out of food
Here's their menu
It was really delicious.
We also enjoyed the native chicken and other dishes.
Overall we were happy that we chose this.
For those who are visiting Naga, you should try this out.
We left immediately because we were behind our schedule for 2 hours
We still need to travel for 93 kilometers
and it was already 4pm when we left Naga City
I got separated for half an hour
because I stopped when I noticed something noisy below my scooter
that's why I stopped for a bit.
I caught up with them eventually.
As expected, we ran out of sunlight.
After a while we saw Slider waving at us on the side of the road.
It turned out, he had a minor accident.
When he tried to move to the shoulder, he didn't notice that the road was uneven and his Harley slid.
Good thing he had a crash guard installed that's why the damage was minimal.
and most importantly, he himself was safe, aside from a few scratches on his knee.
Another problem, the Harley won't start so we needed to tow it up to where we were going to stay. We tried resetting the battery and jump-starting it but failed.
We were tired and hungry but we were too busy trying to fix the problem that we barely notice it.
Because I was the contact person of the host of the place we rented, I went ahead to settle our payments and the place.
We arrived at Wyn'es Hometel around 9PM
and the owners welcomed us
After a few hours, they arrived. Good thing the Harley started and they were able to drive it there.
Another good thing is their parking area where our motorcycles are kept safe.
Problems occur on this kinds of trips.
Just like in life.
What's important is there are people who are willing to stand with you and help you solve these problems.
For every problem that you overcome
you learn and become tougher.
Oh well, drama is over. Cheers to that!
And because we officially toured Naga City, Camarines Sur on 2 wheels, let's cross them off the list.
