hey - welcome back to my channel my name is Leah and today we're gonna be talking
about dating in Switzerland just before we start a few updates so number one I
hope you appreciate the new quality of these videos I purchased some equipment
and some lighting and this will make my videos a lot better also I will no
longer have to rush home and try to make videos where there's still sunlight out
I can now make videos whenever since I have lighting so that means there's
gonna be more videos or two I know have a peel box if you guys want to write me
or send me stuff I would love to hear from you guys so I will post the peel
box down there just the description box feel free to send me anything that you
like if you send me a postcard I would love to send you one back from
Switzerland my peel box is in germany by the way just because it'll be cheaper
for you guys to send me stuff and also cheaper for me to receive stuff because
switzerland taxes packages anyways and that's it for all the updates um let's
get started dating in switzerland I've gotten this question several times
in my comments and also have received comments about people who think they
know my dating life in Switzerland so let's go ahead and jump right in
number one I am NOT dating in Switzerland
watching just kidding I wanted to make this video about something a little bit
different more um more so getting hit on in Switzerland
I guess because I am NOT dating I'm here for other reasons and not to date so for
all those comments oh I came to Switzerland for a white guy okay I could
have done that in America so I've gotten some unwanted attention here in
Switzerland and it's funny cuz I didn't realize it until yesterday that it is a
certain type of man that continuously has been hitting on me the same type of
guy it has not been different at all and what is that it has been it has been
consistently a old white guy that's it and when I say old I mean old um if I
could guess probably like early 50s old yeah those are the guys that have been
hitting on me here in Switzerland and yeah that's the only type of guy that
has been hitting on me here in Switzerland it's pretty funny huh
but yeah so I just wanted to talk about that because it's different than in
America so number one I do not get catcalled here in Switzerland which has
been so amazing so so so amazing should have added that to the list of things I
love about Switzerland because I no longer have to hide at the grocery store
like I did in America because guys would literally follow you and chase you down
in the grocery store to try to pick you up here that's not a problem and maybe
that's just for me maybe other girls get catcalled but nope not me I don't get
cat polled no whistles no hey sexy hey ma hey girl
none of that has happened at all and it feels
and number two I just feel like yeah men here are just more polite and more
so if gentlemen here so you don't really have to deal with the harassment that
you deal with in America even when I've gone out to like clubs and bars when I'm
if I get hit on it's not you know harassment like I've dealt with before
though I've actually only been hit on a handful of times here which is also very
amazing because it's just I don't know I'm never good with being hit on because
I always feel bad and still end up giving out my number so it's so it's
just better not to have to go through that for me
but a few times it has been an older white man and it's really funny because
almost the first line that they tell me during the whole pickup process and
they're like oh I have many black friends but they don't say black they
say have many African friends and they love to tell me that I don't know if
that's supposed to make me feel comfortable but I think it's hilarious
they're always like yeah I have many African friends yeah yeah not just girls
I have many African man friends too it's pretty funny
and also along with that so since the people who are hitting on me are older
white men most of them don't know English yes most of them that I've
talked to don't know English not to say that older white men don't know English
here in Switzerland but just the ones that have hit on me don't so it's always
an awkward conversation because I mean I know what they're saying but still I
still struggle sometimes to respond but but it has been very useful because even
if I in the moment I do want to communicate in Swiss German I can just
pretend that I only know English so then they like sometimes stop
hitting on me so I was on the train back from Germany into Basel and yeah this
white man just sat right next to me on the tram and even though there were
plenty of seats open and you know he was speaking with me only in high german
which i don't understand i can only understand swiss german so since i
wasn't understanding him he was just like using his hands to like you know
he's like what do you do for work i think where are you from and he was
trying to literally make up his own sign language to talk to me and it was very
very uncomfortable other situations where i haven't been openly hit on but i
could tell somebody was like checking me out um once again mainly by white guys
and for some reason i feel like a lot of them are too shy to approach me or I
don't know maybe ice look unapproachable but it's just very funny to me and some
using I was on my way to work on the bus and I didn't even notice him I really
didn't I was just kind of listening to music you know on my phone and then I
got up to leave the bus because it was my stop and I was kind of waiting for
the bus to slow down and then he came up to me and was like good morning it was
like good morning and then I got off the bus it was funny because he waited that
long to say something to me and like thinking back I did see him get on at
the same stop it as I did so we had been on the bus together already for like 20
minutes and he could have said something before but so that situation has
happened to me before as well in Switzerland where you know they're like
looking at me but they don't approve me yeah but that's okay that's I don't
mind I'm just sharing some stories an uber driver has hit on me two of our
drivers actually and yeah both of them could not speak English so yeah it was
more of these hand movements going on and but the one thing that they do know
how to say in English is where are you from in Africa which country are you
from in Africa and I'm like America no no no no where are you really from
and I'm like America me yeah and then that's like a back-and-forth thing like
no are you really from America America yeah that's it just some funny stories
to share about dating and such a limb but not really dating but just what I've
encountered as far as attention from the opposite sex here in Switzerland yeah if
you are also from Switzerland and you have some funny stories about getting
