oh that's garbage you can't do that on Etsy I know I've been on Etsy before yes
you can but you have to treat it like a full-time job you have to treat it like
it's actually a business and not a hobby so it is possible and it names Alicia
now at least you started doing this kind of you know doing it as a hobby here
this that and the other thing right and she didn't start taking it seriously off
the bat but when she started taking it seriously she learned about all the
tools and information she had available to her through Etsy they gave you a
whole lot of information that gives you the ability to break down like what's
selling what's not how you can promote things and how you can get your products
on their front page and when at least you started doing this she started
seeing orders like that will come as scattered about maybe one or two or
three every so often a couple days so getting 90 orders a day basically that's
huge I don't care what you're selling even if what you're selling is like five
bucks a pop that's a lot of money to make on Etsy and it is possible that's
the amazing thing about this so I didn't want anyone to like look at that see and
say oh it's just you know something for people for their hobby and you know it
is you can't make this some extra money just doing this as a hobby and you know
making some extra change in like I said to you before earlier in the video I
actually noticed as a matter of fact because my wife is on Etsy and I'll tell
you what she made quite a bit of money especially around the holiday time or we
really needed the money on Etsy because she zeroed in she focused in on it and
we made that we had a really good couple Christmases every time she focuses in on
that so anyone who's really motivated and you know geared to having success on
doing something on Etsy it as possible but especially in the beginning you kind
of want to treat it like a business and you want to really go all-in on it you
want to learn all the analytics and all the statistics and you want to know
what's selling what's not all that stuff's important but if you can do that
like halfway decent products or products you can make like Alicia here Alicia
here she made $70,000 in a month uh Nancy
that's huge obviously we all know people who can't
even make that in a year or in some cases sad to say not even two years so
keep that in mind so let's see we all know what as he's
all about right if you're into crafts arts and crafts and you kind of make
things you like to do some doodads around the house or there's something
that you specialize in whether it's yarn or making toys or like here are
keychains or our dog dog tags whatever your your niche is whatever you like to
do you can make a lot of money doing it if but the thing I hear from people all
the time including my wife is it's getting ranked so when people type in
certain keywords for whatever it is you're selling getting on that first
page it's almost like a Google Analytics thing or YouTube depending on the
success rate of your YouTube video or then your keywords and the same thing
with Google you know if you want if you have a webpage that specializes in
health and fitness if you you know knit crochet whatever the case may be you
want your site to rank at the top so people go to you first and they're more
likely to buy from you first it's the same thing where that's e but the great
thing about Etsy is if you PI if you apply yourself put in certain keywords
learn what they are you know tell you what actually sells what people are
looking at and focus in on those things you can actually get to the top of the
list and Etsy pretty quickly depending on how much effort you put into it and
it's just something you want to think about and then one of the reasons I want
to want to talk about I wanted to talk about Etsy now is because you're talking
about this you know holiday season right your Halloween Thanksgiving Christmas
coming up for people who are in arts and crafts this is a killer time of year to
sell a little doodads okay you know arts and crafts knitting crochet anything you
could think of you know that's you know crafty and people can appreciate
something as homemade this is the time of year to make killing okay now one of
the things I wanted to show you real quick here I
is obviously Etsy isn't a for free you get on the Etsy joining Etsy is free
right but every time you post something and you sell something as he takes a cut
and you get a listing fee to us for every item that you list and Etsy you
got to pay 20 cents per listing and I'm not sure listings are active for 4
months or until they sell so ok you got to pay your 20 cents for the listing
that last you for months if it's on there longer you got to pay another 20
cents or until it sells ok and you have a 5% transaction fee 3% plus 25 cents
payment processing fee so it's basically telling you here they take care of all
of your transactions for you if you put something up there online that you made
that you created you're paying 20 cents for the upload or to put it up there to
post it and then when you you sell it they take a cut of that to 5 percent 3
percent plus the 25 cents it's really easy to figure out if that's all you're
paying for something that you're putting up there for free and the best thing
about it is it says 3 percent for payment processing that's phenomenal
because you're not really doing anything all they're going to do is take those
funds that you make and throw them into your PayPal account and all you do is
have to worry about your taxes and whatnot if you're over $600 a year and
then you have to transfer it to your bank account to cash it out I mean
there's nothing to this really if you want your own business it doesn't get
any simpler than this folks so I mean if you're an artsy craftsy kind of person
you know and you really enjoy making things and you want to make some extra
money especially around the holidays this is an excellent time to get started
it's really really simple choose your own path to success ah now
this from what I understand I don't this is relatively new you get your standard
account you sign up and you could do exactly what I just told you to do and
what I've showed you to do really simple ok now with the plus option here
obviously is expanding set of tools to help you jump start growth in and
express your brand from what I understand they just give you more
analytics and ability to analyze your products what sells what doesn't what
time it sells all those kind of things all those little nitty-gritty things you
get to the Plus account and you start to get to get that
information it makes you actually jump a little bit higher in the ratings if you
actually use it because that's what they want they sell you on the higher
accounts and guess what you saw you buy on the higher accounts well guess what
they're going to give you the tools so you get to your Nate your name to the
top of the list so if someone plugs in you know knitting crochet or you know
blankets or arts and crafts guess whose names are gonna show first on their list
it's going to be the people who have the tools and purchased these these products
right so that's the little niche but the truth of the matter is if you just want
a standard account and you study your own keywords you do your own analytics
you know through google keyword searches and things like that and actually just
studying and get involved with the community you it might take a little
longer but you can still dominate and get to that top of that page so don't be
discouraged by that but this actually just for them to make more money and it
makes it a little bit easier for you to get a leg up especially if you let's
just say you're starting now and you want to make a killing this holiday
season Halloween Thanksgiving and Christmas right you might want to invest
in thinking in this now this premium thing full set of advanced tools and
lets you run your business like a boss now I don't know exactly what's in here
obviously because this says right here it's not launching until 2019 which is
okay if you just want to get the plus program that just means you're on an
even playing field with everybody else you're at the top of the yellow line at
this point now people who get this for next year who are serious about their at
C program or their Etsy their Etsy business get the premium plan if you're
making some decent money you probably want to invest in that right I think
that's pretty much all I wanted to show you for today
now let me see what here ah this is what I wanted to show you this is my wife's
Etsy store it's called Vaughn knits and here we have our beautiful model my
friend her friend her name's Watson 'santa Thep hope she doesn't get mad at
me for saying that but she's great girl and here's my beautiful wife Vaughn
Kevin's like the name and this is her website you know what she's done and
here are some of the scarfs she's selling for this season and she
generally focuses her business a you know during the holiday season because
he specializes in pushing and basically what she's doing
she's selling scarves now she that's her focus right now so now is the time of
year when she starts making her money on Etsy and as you can see she makes some
beautiful stuff here and all the people who buy them tend to agree so this is
how she has her her shop set up and all these different all these different
types of scarves that she sells and all this other kind of thing you see her
ever average rating she's got five stars she's got fifty three of those and
here's some of her you know customer comments and whatnot so to give you an
idea what you can do what you can make and here says I'm a knit and crochet
enthusiast it gives a little description about her what she likes to do all of
her contact information all the things that she's on I want her design but this
is the kind of thing it takes a while to set it up properly she started this back
in 2016 15 something like that but she last updated in 2016 but this is the
kind of thing you guys can do and you can make some nice nice you know money
on this now here for my wife you could see like $89 for a scarf I mean that's a
lot of work for a scarf and it's a really high-quality scarf as you could
tell but this is the kind of thing you you know set up you make your posting
you put up a whole bunch of different types of pictures
right show the client what they're getting $89 you put a nice little
description over here favorited by 18 people tells you about shipping and
handling and making things as easy as possible for your customers to see but I
wanted to show you guys that okay and I think that you can make a ton of money
on Etsy if you apply yourself and if it's something that you love if there's
something that you love doing you love creating you know there being any
crochet like my wife or you know whether it's little model kits or you know
anything anything with arts and crafts you can make a lot of money on here the
only thing I would say to everybody who wants to get in and see try to think of
a way to stand out make something not necessarily different but market
yourself differently and I think that actually helps people have a little bit
