You know the last 2 generations had it easy you bought a house, or some stocks and bonds,
you sat back and that $50,000 house is worth a million dollars today, you cashed out and
retire.
Today those opportunities, in my opinion, are gone.
But , there are other incredible opportunities today in amassing INTERNET real estate.
And one of the biggest opportunities is YouTube.
Anybody regardless of who you are can start a YouTube channel - doesnt cost a penny and
build an ongoing monthly passive revenue stream.
Imagine getting paid while you sleep.
If you are new to the channel im Robert Edwards, I am a entrepreneur, investor, and business
owner.
I was running businesses long before YouTube was around, so my initial interest in YouTube
was purely financial.
That said now that I am a creator - I love YouTube.
It's fun to use and is the single greatest business building opportunity today.
Not Facebook,for sure not twitter, ....YouTube.
If you are a writer, a cleaner, a consultant, a salesperson, a musician or just someone
who wants to create - you have the single biggest opportunity right here and now with
YouTube.
On YouTube you have the ability to interact with billions of people all over the world,
and there are major SEO benefits for an existing business as well, we'll cover that in a future
video.
Now - I'll give you the biggest tip ever for making money on YouTube.
Forget about making money on YouTube!
Think instead about how can you positively impact peoples lives.
How can you help them, or make their day brighter.
Once you start thinking that way, the money will follow.
So to start off, we don't even have a big YouTube channel.
As of the making of this video we have just over 6,000 subscribers.
We're going to increase that by continuing with a lot of solid content just like this
video - so hit that bell and subscribe for updates But from this small YouTube channel
alone we generated about $450,000 over the last 12 months without spending a single penny
on ads.
Next year we are targeting $1,000,000 just from this channel.
I'll discuss how we did that in a moment.
But first why is YouTube is such a golden opportunity.
As of the making of this video more than 1 billion hours of video content is watched
every day.
The time spent watching YouTube on TV has doubled in the past year.
People are watching TV less and less, and YouTube more and more but you can advertise
on YouTube for free and not have to spend millions of dollars on a TV spot.
The number of channels making 6 figures has increased by 50% every year.
Demand for "how to" videos are growing 70% year after year.
People much prefer to watch a video rather than read a page of text.
Millennials prefer YouTube over TV 2 to one - Im with them there I cancelled cable TV
18 years ago and have not missed it.
YouTube is considered the second largest search engine in the world.
And YouTube - is owned by Google - which obviously can provide valuable SEO.

So as you can see Youtube is replacing traditional digital mediums and those who create a channel
now, can enjoy an ongoing revenue stream that can literally last a lifetime.
There are several ways you can make money on Youtube the first is with paid ads.Youtube
will show ads on your videos and share the revenue with you.
Very cool.
And the great thing is YouTube is amazing at matching advertisers with your content.
So if people are watching pet videos they might see ads for pet products.
Every time someone clicks an ad on your video or watches over a certain period of time - YouTube
pays you!
This is a fantastic way get paid by YouTube but ad revenue is also the slowest way .Unless
you have millions and millions of views you really wont earn much.
To give you an idea of what you might make.here are some screen caps of our current channel
statistics.
And as you can see YouTube provides amazing analytics that allow you to track demographics
of your viewers, total watch time, earnings, subscribers, and a lot more.
So here we see over the last 30 days we have had over 300,000 minutes of watch time.
Thats about 5500 hours or 229 days of content watched on our channel.
Thats not bad for a boring old channel that focuses mostly on franchising!!
Now for that we will be paid about $360 a month from YouTube, or very close to the $1
per 1000 views estimate that most people will give you.
Now that amount will vary depending on how many people click the ads shown on your videos,
and different subjects will have higher click rates and ad payments.
Remember subjects that are very specific like car insurance, will generally pay more because
the ads have more relevancy.
What is great is that YouTube continually works towards optimizing ads on your channel
to make them better suited to your viewers.
More clicks = more money both for you and YouTube.
Now $360 is not a lot of money but keep in mind if you keep providing quality content
and growing your channel over time, that amount will increase.
And if you are a young person think of growing a YouTube channel from $100 a month to $300
to $3,000 and $10,000 every month for life.
That could be an amazing retirement income.
Or do it sooner and travel the world just making YouTube videos!
How amazing would that be, and its possible, people are doing it - why not you?!
So what should my YouTube channel be about?
If you have an existing business you already have a topic.
YouTube is great for writers, musicians, duct cleaners,bloggers or vloggers, pet owners,
gamers, bodybuilders, any type of business or niche topic can inspire quality content
that provides value.
And I'll say it again.
the most important element in any business venture be it YouTube, or starting or buying
a business always ask yourself how much value does this provide your customers or viewers.
If you ask that question before entering into any type of business you will never make a
mistake!
Providing value is the single most important element in anything and especially relevant
on YouTube because more people will then watch and react to your content, including sharing,
and here is a graph of our shares the last 30 days.
The more shares and interaction with your content the better YouTube ranks your videos.
Without that engagement you will never rank.
Now listen up - You can't cheat and buy hits or views because YouTube is smart, they will
only rank videos that have this legitimate social interactivity.
And that can't be faked.
So don't cheat.
And Interestingly your activity doesn't even have to be all positive Vegan Gains a very
controversial YouTuber gets hated on a lot for some of what he says - 320,000 subscribers.
So some ideas if you are starting out.
Top 10 sites are very popular.
Channels like mostamazingtop10 have over 4 million subscribers, and cover content like
Top 10 scary last words, top 10 alien pictures and more.
WatchMojo has 18 million subscribers and again is a top list.
like top 10 sci fi comics, and top 10 craziest thing in Fortnite.
Now its interesting many of these channels dont even show the face of the person,just
stock images and video so if you are worried you aren't photogenic a top 10 site might
be suitable.
heres a cool tip if you ever wondered how much money these YouTubers are making.
There is a website Socialblade at socialblade.com you can input any YouTube channel name and
it will give you an estimate on how much that channel is making and other helpful data.
You can see here that WatchMojo is earning between $61,000 and just under a million dollars
per month not bad for cranking out top 10 videos.
You can put in any of your favorite channels and socialblade will estimate how much money
they are making.
Pet channels are also popular, as are video montages or collections.
These channels just take other peoples content - put them together and pump out videos.
Just be careful of copyright if you go that route.
Remember earlier when we mentioned the "how to" searches are increasing more every year?
How to grow sweet potatoes, how to cook quiche, how to change a diaper, how to go vegan, how
to play fortnite, how to edit an excel spreadsheet, how to pass an exam, how to use a digital
camera, how to choose a widescreen TV - there are millions upon millions of opportunities
right now to pick your passion and create an awesome channel.
Gamer channels are huge, and if you have the personality for it a general vlog channel
can earn you Millions, just look at PewDiePie who gets about 270,000,000 views every single
month.
Give it some thought, what value could you bring, and entertainment is value, to your
viewers.
If you are a musician, author, or artist YouTube is amazing.
So once your channel is live ......being paid on views is great, but it's definitely the
slowest to become profitable.
let's look at a strategy to speed up the earning process.
Another way to make money on YouTube is to promote and sell products.
You don't need your own most major companies have affiliate programs including eBay, amazon,
even Walmart.
So when people click your affiliate link below your video and buy that product, you get paid
a commission.
But remember - and I have to say it again don't think about the money because if all
you do is list products you will fail.
Nobody cares.
You need to provide value.
Genuinely put your viewers first and money second.So how do I provide value and still
make money?
If you are a pool cleaner you could show tips on pool maintenance.
or review pool products and sell those products on your channel.
If you have a construction company you could provide homeowner tips and have links to those
kind of products.
Like to cook?
Cooking channels get tons of views, and you can sell cookbooks, and spices through your
videos.
Like to garden?
Same thing - provide gardening tips and provide links to the garden tools that you like to
use.
Or seeds.
gamers review and sell games, or a channel about pets selling pet supplies, the list
is endless.
An even better strategy is to start a blog or website along with your YouTube channel
and backlink and embed your YouTube videos to those pages.
As long as you are not being spammy and truly helpful you can make money on YouTube and
there are billions of people on YouTube every day.
You have probably seen the unboxing videos - they are also very popular YouTuber The
Relaxing End has over 2 million subscribers and all videos show white gloves unboxing
gamer related items.
Travel review videos are huge if you like to travel, and if your channel gets popular
you can literally get free vacations just by featuring a destination.
Electronic reviewers with popular channels get tons of free gadgets like cameras, wide
screen TV;s and phones.A daily vlog can be popular if you have an interesting life, educational
topics are popular, if you are in college and good at a particular subject -you could
backlink to exam prep or educational products and most of those pay up to a 40% commission.
So you could do a video on a subject, then link to an exam prep course or similar and
make up to $400 on each sale.
In a future video I'll show you one of our educational websites that generates 6 figures
a year promoting educational courses - and Ill show you how easy it is to set up a website
of your own.
Another option is to have paid sponsorships.
Once your channel becomes popular you can have companies pay you for featuring their
product or service.
So if you had a hot sauce review channel, you could charge companies money to review
their hot sauce in a video.
A local business channel can be popular, featuring local companies and charge them to be reviewed.
Think like "Best of Atlanta" or a similar channel that reviews local restaurants, bars,
cleaners etc
Many YouTubers also use services like Patreon that allows viewers to support your channel
through donations.
You can provide paying members with premium content and special perks to incent them to
donate.
Many channels earn thousands of dollars extra through support donations using Patreon or
similar services.
So as you can see we are at the beginning of a massive shift in media - with that shift
comes opportunity - take advantage of it and start the process and create a channel.

rather than the mindset of asking what can I earn - ask what value can I give people.
Our videos literally save people millions of dollars every month by helping them avoid
costly investment mistakes.
The more value you give, the more successful you will be.
#2 Technology - Quality counts.
phones today are capable of decent quality video.
Audio is also important.
If you have the budget spend a few hundred on a good mic, a good camera, some lighting,
and an editing suite.
You don't have to be a Hollywood producer....... but you should take the time to look and sound
professional.
#3 SEO - Do some keyword research before you create the videos.
Do a search to see what terms are popular.
You can type into YouTube and suggested searches will come up that are trending.
If you have an Google ads account go and check the number of searches.
Google will slowly integrate your videos by keywords into the rotation which will start
the process of engagement.
Having well optimized keywords will speed up that process.

Quality content - nobody wants to see you rambling on about how you just ate a donut.
Thats for Facebook and insta.
YouTube = quality content.
Dont swear - YouTube recently had a huge crackdown on content not being suitable for advertisers.
If you want to be ultimately eligible to get paid on ad clicks - dont swear or have any
questionable content.
YouTube really wants partners and will help you to succeed- but you have to play by the
rules and keep it family rated.
Consistency.
One or two or even ten videos is not going to cut it.
Set a schedule every week to create one or two or more videos and stick to it.
It takes time, it takes a lot of effort, but just keep thinking about that $10,000 a month
while you are traveling the world.

up.
Many people were annoyed when YouTube changed the requirement to 1000 subscribers minimum
before you could apply to be a YouTube partner and get paid.
But this was actually a good thing.
Now YouTube can focus on the really solid channels, and they are there to help you,
not hurt you.
Remember this Whenever there is a higher barrier of entry in business, or anywhere in life,
that means much better rewards at the top.
be one of the few that sticks with it and follows through and you will literally be
one of the pioneers of the internet and potentially create yourself a lifetime of residual income.
and don't forget to give back too - if you have ad blockers turn them off.
Support other channels by allowing ads - YouTube may surprise you with great ads for stuff
you actually like.

Let me tell you there are always ways to make things work for any situation.
So with this small channel we promote one of our companies which is a business brokerage
and consulting firm.
So like a realtor selling real estate we sell businesses and franchises and receive a percentage
of the franchise fee or of the selling price of the business.
Now keep in in mind you can use YouTube to promote anything no matter how big the price
tag!
You can promote Rolex watches, jets, yachts - anything at all.
Remember though whether you are selling a $20 e book or a 2 million dollar business
the rules are always the same - you will be as successful as the value you bring to your
clients and viewers.
Stick with it, it can take weeks or months to build the channel, like any business.
But learn, improve and over time YouTube could become your full time gig!
