-Entonces, saber y conocer. In
English - "to know." The conjugation for saber.
I will say it and then you repeat okay?
Yo se. Tu sabes. El, ella, o usted sabe.
Nosotros o nosotras sabemos. Ellos,
ellas, ustedes saben. Notice that se
has an accent mark. Okay so you always
want to write the accent mark on se. When
do we use "saber"? We use it for
facts, information, and to know how to do
something okay? Por ejemplo, una
dirección, telephone number, name, and you
know how to play the piano.
That's when we use "saber." Okay? Ahora
conocer.
Yo conozco. Tu conoces.
El, ella, o usted conoce. Nosotros, nosotras conocemos.
Ellos, ellas, o ustedes conocen.
When do we use conocer? To know a person,
to meet a person, to be acquainted, to be
familiar with something okay? With a
place or a thing. Por ejemplo, you know a
person, a city, a country, or a
situation.
Numero uno says, "Yo no ... donde esta
mi casa nueva." Do we use saber or conocer?
Saber. Uh huh.
And how do we conjugate the verb "saber" in the
"yo" form. "Yo no se." Muy bien. Numero dos.
"... usted el color de los ojos de su madre?" Sabe? Mmhm. "Sabe" por que es "usted."
"... tu cuando es el examen de ciencias?"
"Sabes." Uh huh. "Sabes tu." Si.
"... ustedes Espana?" "Conocen." Si, muy bien.
"Nosotros ... a alejandro." "Conocemos." Si, muy bien.
"Mi hermano no ... a mis amigas."
"Conoce." Uh huh. "Conoce a mis
amigas."
"Yo ... espanol." "Yo se." "Yo se espanol." I know Spanish.
"Yo no ... la historia de Estados Unidos."
"No se." Uh huh. "No se la historia." "Tu y yo ... el arte."
Conocer, pero "tu y yo."
That's "you and I." "Conocemos."
Si, muy bien.
