A common belief is that Julius Caesar invented Caesar salad or, the salad was somehow named after him.

I mean, it's obvious, just look at the name – Caesar salad must be somehow related to

the famous Roman emperor, right?

Wrong.

it was named after a famed restaurateur

called Caesar Cardini.

Caesar Cardini invented Caesar salad in 1924 in Tijuana, Mexico.

According to lore, an unexpected group of diners rushed into one of his restaurants

on 4th of July.

Because the restaurant was running short on the kitchen's resources, Cardini had to

make something with the ingredients he had on hand.

His original recipe called for boiled eggs, romaine lettuce, garlic, parmesan cheese,

croutons, Worcestershire sauce and olive oil.

He didn't add any anchovies in the mixture, as he strongly claimed that Worcestershire

sauce can adequately provide that fishy flavor on its own.

The salad was so tasty, Cardini decided to add it to the menu.

It was a huge success and soon people started referring it as the Caesar salad, as that

kind of salad could only be found at "Caesar's restaurant".

The name stuck and the rest is history.

Several other people have claimed to be the inventors of Caesar salad including Caesar's

brother, Alex Cardini but none of their stories seems credible enough to be true.

So, there you have it.

Caesar salad was named after Caesar Cardini and not Julius Caesar.

about cap colors and chromosomes I really like science and I was hoping

this might be a little bit of a series about different kinds of science facts

about cats let me know what you guys think and we shall see okay so what is

thinking about calico cats and ginger cats and how people say that they are

mainly a certain sex and like how there are girls or hell are all boys and I

just wondering if this is that is there any truth to this so I called our

in-house research at Maya and she found that actually there is

so Maya did some research and there was a lot of links between cat color and

their sex which I thought was really cool so that's what this video is about

the cat's coat is basically determined by their chromosomes so basic chromosome

kind of introduction females have X X and males have X Y and all of the

coloring is in the X chromosome so male cats take all of the

genetics from their mother so it's really easy to guess what kind of color

a male cat is going to be based off the color of its mom it's going to be the

same color so from this female cats can actually

take color from both sides both the mama cat and the dead cat so in very special

circumstances a female cat can be born calico because of a black cat and the

ginger cat and it just Cana they are the same as Tasha shells now the reason why

male chemicals are so rare is because obviously they don't take any color from

their father so they only have the color of the mother it's not unusual for cats

to have lots of extra chromosomes so even though it is rare for chemicals to

be born male it can happen a lot of Coco's as well usually have like an

extra toe and these all come from having extra chromosomes so it can happen that

are male chemicals but down to their genetics and their chromosomes that's

why they are all mainly female so it was really interesting for me to research

there are so many things about cats and chromosomes so if that's something that

you're like interested in I definitely recommend doing like a google search

yourself and just having a read through some of the things that really quite

WHAT IS BLOOD?

There are various definitions which defines blood.

In simple words it is a RED LIQUID which circulates in arteries and veins humans and other vertebrate

animals, carrying oxygen to and carbon dioxide from the tissues of the body.

Another can be that is a vital principle of life

It is a mechanism of BLOOD in bodies of living organism which can differentiate one individual

from other based on presence or absence of specific antigens in blood…

This system is called BLOOD GROUP There are four blood groups A, B, AB and O

blood groups.

While blood types are 100% genetically inherited, the environment potentially can determine

which blood types in a population will be passed on more frequently to the next generation.

Blood Type A - If the red blood cell has only "A" molecules on it.

Blood Type B - If the red blood cell has only "B" molecules on it.

Blood Type AB - If the red blood cell has a mixture of both "A" & "B" molecules.

Blood Type O - If the red blood cell has neither "A" or "B" molecule.

BLOOD GROUP FACTS: There are eight different common blood types, which are determined by

the presence or absence of certain antigens, which are substances that can trigger an immune

response if they are foreign to the human body.

Since some antigens can trigger a patient's immune system to attack the transfused blood,

safe blood transfusions depend on careful blood typing and cross-matching.

Now the next turn is to know about an interesting factor known as Rh-factor which can be either

present (+) or absent (-). In general, Rh negative blood is given to Rh-negative patients,

and Rh-positive blood or Rh-negative blood may be given to Rh positive patients.

The universal red cell donor has Type O negative blood type.

The universal plasma donor has Type AB positive blood type.

BLOOD TRANSFUSION: Blood transfusion is a medical term.

It means a procedure used to transfer blood (or some products based on blood) from the

circulatory system of one human to that of another human.

Blood types are very important when a blood transfusion is necessary.

In a blood transfusion, a patient must receive a blood type compatible with his or her own

blood type.

If the blood types are not compatible, red blood cells will clump together, making clots

that can block blood vessels and cause death.

If two different blood types are mixed together, the blood cells may begin to clump together

in the blood vessels, causing a potentially fatal situation.

Therefore, it is important that blood types be matched before blood transfusions take

place.

In an emergency, type O blood can be given because it is most likely to be accepted by

all blood types.

However, there is still a risk involved.

WHY BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS ARE PERFORMED???

Loss of blood during surgery or from an injury or an illness.

An inability to make enough blood.

Some illnesses and treatments can harm the bone marrow's ability to make blood (e.g.,

chemotherapy decreases production of new blood cells).

To prevent complications from an existing blood or bleeding disorder, such as sickle

cell disease, thalassemia, or anaemia caused by kidney disease, haemophilia, or von Willebrand

disease.

Autologous Directed donation

Volunteer donation PREPARING FOR A BLOOD DONATION

If your child needs a blood transfusion, the doctor will speak to you about the procedure.

If you have questions, be sure to ask.

When you feel comfortable with the information and your questions have been fully answered,

you will be asked to sign an informed consent form.

This form states that you understand the procedure and its risks, and give your permission for

your child to have the blood transfusion.

If the situation is not a life-threatening emergency, two tests will be done before the

transfusion: Blood typing and Cross-Matching

to maybe immortalize who they were if they can die a magnificent death.

And I think unfortunately the way it comes out is very destructive and not constructive.

And it's one of those things where when people come into my studio, I challenge their

lyrics.

Like, what's your purpose?

What's the end result of these words and this feeling that will live on maybe another

100 years beyond you?

What value do you think they have now?

What value do you think they will have then?

And people who come into my studio with that sort of approach hate when I ask those questions

because it's challenging their artistic whatever.

And this delusion of grandeur given by "I'm an artist."

We're human beings and we're a community.

And these buildings one day will crumble and dust will cover them.

And someone will uncover them and want to know something about their past to understand

how they can move on as a society and grow.

And so to sensationalize and take death for granted in that way is nothing to be learned

from that, other than you guys were foolish in 1990-2017.

So I make it an effort to try and challenge.

And because I'm older, when the 19 year olds come in with that green and I'm fearless

and I don't care about anyone else, and I'm not going to curse here, and the expression

from that perspective, I try to educate them and challenge them in a healthy way so that

they can value life and speak about the idea of dying in a different way.

We need to stop starting from what's wrong and begin to totally change the conversation

and say what do you want your life for, whether you have a moment or a decade?

And if we started from that place, imagine what could happen.

So because I'm so shy and reserved, I jumped up and I said "Oh I have to say something!"

And as I shared that reflection about this slide in that meeting, a couple months later,

I was in another meeting and a woman came up to me, who has since given me permission

to share her story, and she said "I wanted to introduce myself, I was in the DODVA meeting

with you and you talked about that slide.

That changed my life."

I was like really?

Well, I have a chronic condition and I have to see my physician every 3 weeks.

And she said I don't enjoy it, it's a pain, but I'm very compliant."

You could just tell she was very type A and she was a very over-achiever in her career.

"So I go and I do it because I'm supposed to."

But I left that meeting and I started thinking I've never asked myself that question.

We don't usually ask ourselves that question until the end of life, as we've been talking

about.

So she said "I started reflecting on what do I want my health for?

Why do I want to live?

And she says "you know what I decided", and this will give you a sense of her personality,

she said "in 3 years, I'm going to turn 50, and I decided I want to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro."

I said "Whoa. Really?"

She said "Yes.

So the next time I went to see my doctor I go in and he says, 'Ok, let's talk about

your labs.'

That's what we do, we talk about your labs.

And she said 'No.

She said 'No, I don't want to talk about my labs.'

He said, excuse me?

That's what we do.

We talk about your labs, we treat your meds, you come back.

She said "Nope.

I want to talk about how you can help me get to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

And this guy was like Whoa.

But kudos to him, after a few moments he recalibrates and he gets her thing.

And she said guess what, Now I cannot wait to go to my doctor's appointments.

She said "Guess what, for years he's been telling me that stress plays a role in my

condition, and for years he's been telling me I should incorporate stress reduction or

meditation and for years I've been telling him, No way, I do!

That's what I do."

She said guess what I do now.

"I meditate an hour every day."

Not so her disease will be better, so she can live the life that she's now identified.

So she can get to the aspiration.

So a couple of years later, I was in a restaurant and she was there and she came running over

to me, I did it I did it, I went to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
