- Dimitri has asked, what's the best way to tune throttle response.

OK so throttle response really requires us to get our transient or acceleration

enrichment tuning spot on.

And this is an area that a lot of tuners really struggle with.

It's not actually that difficult if we understand what we're doing here.

First of all, getting our throttle or acceleration enrichment tuning correct,

relies on starting out with a properly tuned fuel table.

The acceleration enrichment tables in the majority of ECUs,

work as modifiers or multipliers on top of the numbers in our main fuel table.

So if the numbers in our main fuel table aren't right for a start,

there's not way we're gonna get good acceleration response.

So that's our first job.

Once we go through there, what we're going to do is find that

when we move our throttle very quickly, we'll have some tables that allow us

to add additional fuel.

And what we generally find is that as our engine RPM increases and also as our

load increases, in both situations we need a little bit less transient enrichment

as we go through.

So there will generally be a few tables that we can adjust in order to get that

working how we need.

And then what we're doing is adjusting those until we get really

crisp response from the engine.

Now we can look at the air fuel ratio plot, the logging of our air fuel ratio

to help with this.

And this can actually be a little bit misguiding.

While I do use the air fuel ratio data to help tune my transient enrichment,

I'm much more interested in focusing on how the engine actually feels,

that's the much more important job.

So it's quite common that we'll see that once the engine has been tuned

correctly and it's operating really nicely the throttle response is really crisp,

we'll probably still see a slight lean spike followed potentially by a bit

of a rich spike when we do use, add a really sharp amount of

throttle input.

What Should I Buy For My Daily Driver After This BMW M4? Help Me Choose! - Duration: 7:10.

Hi Everyone! I'm Steve with Steve's POV.

It's Sunday morning...

Today I am driving my BMW M4.

I'm driving solo today...

Usually I am driving together with my son...

we would drive together and he would shoot for me too...

but he turned 18 and he is now off to college far away...

He is on the east coast now 5 hours away by airplane!

Now I have to shoot myself selfie style!

I want to apologize in advance for not being good at self shooting!

But I will get better!! I have to get better!!

But today I want to talk about something else....

I've introduced you to my daily driver BMW M4 before...

I've been driving this BMW M4 for close to 3 years now...

I leased this car brand new almost 3 years ago...

My lease term is up fairly soon...

That means I will be giving this car back to BMW...

The question I've been pondering lately is what to buy/lease after this car...

I think I still have this car until January so I have a little time to think, but...

I don't really hate this car....

I like it but I'm kinda bored of it.

There are a lot of different types of car lovers in the world...

There are people who fall in love with one car and one car only... they drive it forever...

and then there are people who quickly get bored driving the same thing everyday...

Unfortunately I fall in that category...

That's not necessarily a bad thing....

It's just that I get bored a little quickly...

"But Steve, the M4 is an awesome car... you must be spoiled!"

"How can you possibly get bored of a car like this Steve??"

Why do I always make that voice???

LOL

"Why are you bored Steve? Isn't this BMW a great car?"

"You are spoiled and selfish!"

Yes I am spoiled and selfish!!

Yes I want more. Yes I want something better. Yes I'm thinking toward the future!

I'm guilty of all the above!!

That's who I am !

Why am I telling you all this?

It's because I want you to help me think of what to buy next?

What car should I get after this one?

I have a couple of ideas in mind...

I think I even have a favorite too in mind...

But I'm not going to tell you yet what that is...

The car must serve some important purposes:

First of all, it does not need to be a brand new car like this one...

it can be a used car too...

But it's got to be a car that fits my style and this channel's style...

Something that I can drive daily for my Real Estate business.

Hopefully something I don't get bored of quickly....

although that's impossible I think...

6 months to 1 year is when I'm bored...

What do you think is a good car for me?

This M4 has been an ok car...

I told you previously what I don't like about it...

there are just too many BMWs on the road!

I don't want the same car as everyone else!

I don't like that too much...

But I'm tired of this car now and thinking about the next one already...

Remember I am in America...

Left hand drive cars available in USA are my choices...

New or used; American Japanese European... anything is a candidate!

It must be a decent daily driver...

I don't care too much about gas mileage but if its really bad, I might start to not like that.

Hopefully something I can drive for at least 1 year without getting bored.

Please lend me your ideas!

I look forward to reading your comments below the video...

I have not decided yet!! Honestly!! I look forward to considering your input too!

Your ideas and mine together will help me find the best car for myself and this channel going forward!

Please subscribe to my channel to follow the developments in what I choose to buy!

Thumbs Up!!

Hey, check this out!!

This is cool and very American too!!

Look at that dog!!

He's having a good time cruising!!

Thumbs Up to that!!

Looks like he's about to jump out the window!

I got this BMW for another couple of months...

so I guess I'll make some more videos about it.

Or maybe not... maybe you're not interested either...

Leave your thoughts about that too below!

See you again!!

I guess it's kind of a fun car....

See ya!!
