What is NASAMS (National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System) and why India To Buy It - Duration: 2:54.

The National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System (NASAMS) is a medium-range, network-centric

air defence system designed and developed jointly by Raytheon and Kongsberg Defence

& Aerospace, primarily for the Royal Norwegian Air Force.

The system can be deployed to identify, engage and destroy aircraft, helicopters, cruise

missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as protect high-value assets and mass

population centres against air-to-surface threats.

The missile system is in service with the Royal Norwegian Air Force, the Dutch Army,

the Spanish Army and the US National Capital Region, Finland and an undisclosed nation.

Raytheon and Kongsberg entered into a ten-year agreement in June 2015 to expand their partnership

on NASAMS until 2025.

NASAMS 2, an upgraded version of the NASAMS, uses new radars and 12 missile launchers for

quicker identification and destruction of the targets.

The upgraded system has been in service since 2007 and ordered by a number of countries,

including Norway, Finland and the Netherlands.

The NASAMS air defence system features network centric, open architecture that provides increased

survivability against electronic countermeasures.

The missile system can engage 72 targets simultaneously in active and passive modes.

The primary weapon of the system is AIM-120 AMRAAM.

Raytheon MPQ-64F1 Sentinel high-resolution, 3D pencil beam surveillance radar is fitted

to the NASAMS to detect and track the targets.

The missile system is also fitted with AMRAAM launchers and a passive electro-optic (EO)

and infra-red (IR) sensor, hard-real-time communication network and an embedded and

stand alone mission planning tool.

The Spanish Army successfully conducted a live-fire exercise of the NASAMS with four

AMRAAMs in November 2008.

A tactical live-fire exercise of NASAMS was conducted by the Royal Norwegian Air Force

in June 2011.

The air defence system successfully test fired AIM-9X Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missile

in 2011.

The Royal Norwegian Air Force conducted a test firing of ground-based Evolved Sea Sparrow

Missile (ESSM) from the NASAMS in July 2012.

The NASAMS is equipped with three multi-mission launchers, each carrying up to six ready-to-fire

missiles inside the protective canisters.

It can be carried on truck and rail.

The system features a 360 degree defence capability and is suitable for day and night, all-weather

operations.

What is the phonemic chart? Teaching English pronunciation - Duration: 4:08.

do you find the difficult to help your students improve their pronunciation? I'm

Andreia Zakime from What is ELT? and today we are gonna answer the question what is

the phonemic chart? so stay tuned for definitions, tips fof resources and

classroom ideas. Let's go?

In today's video we promised to answer the question: What is the phonemic chart?

and this is actually quite easy to answer.

This is the phonemic chart!

and the version that I'm holding is Macmillan's Sound

Foundation chart by Adrian Underhill. This chart is based on the IPA the

international phonetic alphabet which is a notation system that is comprised of

different symbols that represent different sounds in many different

languages. The phonemic chart on the other hand has 44 symbols that represent

sounds that are relevant for learners and teachers of English. For example, this

is the phonemic transcription of the word 'cat'. It's a broader and less

specific representation of how the word is pronounced. And this is the phonetic

transcription of the word, and as you can see they are different. The phonemic

transcription usually comes in between slashes and the phonetic transcription

is usually in between brackets the other thing that you can notice is that there

is a slight aspiration after the sound /k/ in the phonetic transcription and the

phonemic transcription doesn't bring that.

The phonemic chart is divided in

three different sections. On top left, you see the vowels; on the right, the

diphthongs; and here below you see the consonants. Your students don't need to

know what each symbol represents but it is a good idea to introduce the sounds

little by little from the beginning of the learning process to help your students

become more independent learners.

Tip number one: don't teach the phonemic chart, but choose one phoneme that is

relevant for the language that you're teaching your students. Let's say you're

teaching occupations: I'm the teacher; he's a doctor; she's an engineer. If you

stop and think there is one common phoneme in this language which is the

schwa. It is a very good opportunity for you to introduce the symbol to your

students, the sounds that it represents, and to help your students understand how

the phonemic transcription works. But it doesn't mean that they have to know all

the symbols at once

Tip number two: encourage your students to use resources

to help them practice their pronunciation. The most famous resource

is the Sounds app, by Macmillan education. In this app, you can find the phonemic

chart and you can click on the symbols to hear the sounds that they represent

and you can also find practice exercises and quizzes to practice your pronunciation

Tip number three: start using the phonemic chart with elementary

and pre-intermediate learners. It is a common belief that the phonemic chart is

difficult and it can only be used with advanced learners of English but this is

not necessarily true. The sooner introduce the phonemic charts

your learners, the easier it's going to be for them to understand English

pronunciation, and for them to work on their own pronunciation by themselves.

Spain What to do in Seville Plaza de Espana Seville Cathedral Parque de Maria Luisa & Horse Carriage - Duration: 15:12.

and we are off to catch the bus

I found a bus stop think I'm picking one in the right direction just got to cross the

road here carefully

there's people sitting at the bus stop so that's a good sign it

means there'll be a bus so let's hope it's going in the right direction. I think it should be that way

here's me bus stop

let's see which way it's going

to be honest I don't recognize any of the places

good news here's my bus

well I'm on number 21

now I just have to make sure I get off right stop

It'd not too far.

And it goes round

so if I miss it I'll just go round again

welcome to Plaza de espana

isn't it beautiful there's a little like

our moat that goes around like a canal where you can take rowboats out there's this

beautiful fountain in the middle, amazing historic buildings and there's some park

that I'll show you there you can take a horse ride around the area or around parts

the city in a horse and carriage

it's blazing hot, nice cool breeze off a

fountain and it's nice and cool over there in the shade

let me show you around a little bit

so that's the plaza de españa in Servilla it's very beautiful

that was a fantastic morning we have had walking around there now wandering through the

gardens behind into the city area to find something to eat

and rounding up evening at the Plaza outside the cathedral in Serville

it is beautiful

let me show you that it's a very popular places lots of restaurants

lots of tapas bar lots of places to eat lots of friendly people the cathedral is

lit up let me show you around it's really

beautiful and then I'm gonna find my way home on a bus, hope the bus is still running

can you believe... have a look around first then I'll get back to you

Surprise!

I'm lost in Serville.

It's a nice lost though I'm just wandering down

there's little hotels I've wandered off the Main Street

taking a shortcut through the little alleys

streets to find my way to either

I'm either going to end up at a flomenco bar or a my

bus stop

at the moment it's looking like neither

the trouble is I looked down the

street back down there

and Ithought ooh pretty lights

there's things going on things to

see, so much to show you

okay let me check the map again and see

if I'm going vaguely the right direction

okay first place we found it was Carboneria

which is the flamenco dancing bar

I hope so let's go down this darkened alley

the handwritten sign and see what I find

I can hear sounds singing and dancing

oh and it looks busy

gonna be lucky to get a good seat here

well the cantina the Carboneria was great fun packed but can't show any

footage because we're not allowed to film in there, so I did record some of

the sounds I can play those to you hopefully somewhere else I'll find some

flamenco dancers and to show you

so it's now midnight I'm now wandering around

random alleys, only vaguely lost

hoping the buses are still running

heading to the road to the bus stop

down the strange little road

let's see, errmmmm

I think we still need to go this way

every now and again you come out on a bigger road and then you think you know

where you are and then you go down a side alley and then you're lost again

so left or right?

oh boy, so right? or left? Who knows? Not me

good news no longer completely lost and I found a bus stop and it says a 21

which is the bus I took here hopefully I'm now going in the other direction is due in

six minutes, all the information is up here

bus number where it's going and how many

minutes before arrival

now five minutes

now I have to remember where to get off

I should have paid more notice plus it was light when I left and it's dark now and things look

so different so I'm gonna guess the approximate distance my time and hope I

hop off fairly near my accommodation and then could find my way there

this night may not be over yet but so far I'm currently unlost and waiting for

a bus

good news, I think I've made it

looks familiar I think I go down here turn right

turn left

yep hey even got off at the right stop didn't quite fall asleep so

just down here

must be quiet, don't want to wake anyone up

goodness knows what time it is

but yeah that was actually quite easy I don't know what time the buses

stop running but what's quite grateful there was one

one euro 20 for a

15 minute ride as opposed to at 8 or 9 euro taxi plus any late fees

I've just got to walk this last little bit home

I'm sure I'm in the right place it's just down here be home before we know it

What is the Answer? 🎧 | iamkevw 015 - Duration: 4:27.

Perhaps, it is because I'm fortunate to live in peaceful times that I am able to have thoughts

like these: about purpose, fulfillment, and what it means to be an adult.

I'm blessed to have options, rather than having to fend off enemies and scavenging for food.

For that, I am truly grateful.

I've always wondered if there was a single answer to all of the questions in the world.

Indeed, it is presumptuous to hold such a thought.

How could one action possibly end every problem?

It exists.

I'm hopeful.

Maybe not one answer to rid of all burden, but rather a single trigger to set off a domino

effect that leads to the next answer.

In "The One Thing," by Gary Keller, I've learnt to break every obstacle down to micro-problems

repeatedly, eventually arriving with a single task such that by taking care of said task

will cause every other obstacle to be done with ease, or even be unnecessary.

We, humans, have the ability to project into the future and create simulations, without

having to experience the event in reality to come to a conclusion.

Whether that conclusion is correct or not is a different story.

"Will she reject me, if I ask her out?"

"She definitely has a boyfriend."

"Should I even bother cooking?"

"It's going to taste disgusting."

We can predict the outcome even before taking initiative; however, a prediction is only

just a prediction.

It is not reality.

In order to know, we have to take action.

"Can we really live in space, someday?"

Once upon a time, reaching the moon wasn't even feasible.

Nowadays, we launch satellites into the outer solar system.

It started with us questioning with what was beyond our planet.

That question was taken to be repeatedly tested and refined.

We acted on every possibility.

We rejected what was inaccurate.

This refining process is used in AI research.

Deep learning has the program perform simulations after simulations.

The computer learns at tremendous pace.

Although we cannot create such rapid experiments on our own, we can learn from the mistakes

of others.

We can study the teachings of our predecessors and innovate from the existing resources we

hold currently.

A lot of the time we struggle to reach a conclusion to a complex problem.

We think a grand riddle, requires an equally elegant response.

Many of those times the solution ends up being quite trivial.

It begins with an idea.

Then, we execute.

We continue to improve and polish the idea.

We repeat the process.

Perhaps, there is an answer to all of our questions.

Perhaps, the answer is Time.

Punishment, What Would Jeff Do? Dog Training Tip of the Day #157 - Duration: 2:40.

- Hey everybody, how are you?

It's Jeff Gellman with Solid K9 Training with my

What Would Jeff Do?

Dog Training Tip of the Day, Tip #157.

Look who's in the house.

(laughs)

- Hi!

- That's Joelle, she's gonna do a Facebook Live

right after this.

We just finished an almost two hour Q & A.

She filled in for Linda.

Linda's not feeling well at all today.

And it's not 'cause she's hungover

from the Taylor Swift concert.

But anyway, why do I talk about punishment so much?

Like, Jeff, you talk about punishment all the time.

Well number one, I'm doing it because, I mean,

we have tons of videos on how to reward your dog,

and there's so many videos out there

about how to reward your dog,

and how to get your dog, you know, to do something.

But the only way to stop your dog

from an unwanted behavior, is punishment.

And I'm trying to also make sure people understand,

how to properly punish a dog.

There's actually a proper way.

You know, you're not yelling, you're not screaming,

you're not mad, you're not angry.

But there's actually a proper way

to methodically do it in a way

so the dog understands what it did was wrong,

and it won't repeat it.

And that's the only way

to actually stop an unwanted behavior.

It's also the only way to proof your obedience

around high levels of distraction.

So, it's very important for people

either to go to the next level

or to stop things that usually

you end up surrendering your dog for.

Not too many people are surrendering their dog

because, yeah, you know what,

dog just didn't hold a down stay for longer than 10 minutes.

And, yeah, you know you, just, no.

It's always because my dog

was doing something I couldn't stop.

That's usually what the problem is.

So, I talk about punishment all the time,

but that's not all we do.

10% of our world revolves around punishment,

but a lot of my videos talk about it

because nobody else seems to be.

And, that's not, you know.

So I think it's important though that owners understand,

it's actually a critical part

of the dog training spectrum, you know?

So most people ask me questions on,

"Jeff, how do I stop, fill in the blank?"

The answer is, well, I don't believe

in training an alternative behavior,

'cause great, like, how do I speak better English?

Oh! Learn French!

No.

Doesn't work that way.

So, that's why I do it, because you need it.

Everybody needs it, and nobody's talking about it.

So I'll talk about it.

Jeff Gellman, Solid K9 Training.

I am madly in love with you.

If you didn't see my YouTube Live tonight,

almost two hours of Q & A, jump on over to that.

It's number 439, I think.

Been doing it for a long time.

Q & A shows for over 10 years.

What Would Jeff Do?

WWJD.

Madly in love with you, and I'll talk to you soon.

Bye.

What to take with you to Mount Athos - Duration: 10:25.

Hallo my friends

I will visit Holy Mount Athos soon

And i will show you what items i will take with me.

This time i will stay only for two days

so i will take fewer things with me.

First of all, the backpack

This one is light

but have a lot of slots

so you can put many things in here

but is very light

Lets see what i will put in here.

It's also good that it opens all the way, to put in and out the clothes easy.

First of all i will pack my pair of trousers.

it's good for walking

We need a long pait of trousers

it better has many pockets,

to fit all sort of things.

and it''s got a rubber so i don't need a belt.

so it holds very good

We must always weat long trousers inside Athos

Ιt's forbidden to wear shorts, because its a holy place.

In it goes

Then we put in the t-shirt

Take one for each day

It better be one color

not to bright colors

because again it's a holy place

and we must be modest.

The underwear, i always use boxers for more comfort

because i walk a lot

and this help you not to get injured

Next is the shocks

They have to be thick, so the shoe dosen't hurt us.

and also get a good pair of sport shoes

or special shoes for hiking

I use short one's too because i want the skin to breath.

In it goes

Then a towel for the face

It's necessary because they don't always

give you a towel only for you

so we take a small towel

to fit it easy inside the backpack

ok, i thing enought clothes

I close the clothes compartment

I think i will take this book with me too

It has a lot of info about Athos

like what to see in every monastery

maps, e.t.c.

I always use this guide.

In it goes too.

Then i will take this bag with the coffee

As i said in an other video usally there is no coffee at the monasteries

maybe at the capital Karyes

there are some coffee shops

You can even get esspreso there

and at Dafni there is one coffee shop,

but not at the monasteries.

So i will take my shaker

and esspeso sticks

and brown sugan in sticks

mix it with water to make a coffee in the morning.

or in the afternoon before the church.

I will also take a powerbank

because you can't find a plug, or even electricity on some monasteries

and a USB charger with a cable

and with this i will charge the mobile phone,

the cameras, e.t.c.

I will get this small bags for the dirty clothes.

I put them in the bag, so they don't smell bad.

Very important is a flash light

because on the night time there is no light

we can use it early in the morning, when we go to the Church

or if we want to go to the toilet at night

this one is very bright

2 scales and a sos light

It only takes 1 battery and lasts for long because its led.

I put it in also.

I will take this multi tool with me.

I use it very often

Some times i make a sandwich

we need the knife to cut the bread and stuff

It's got a lot of thinks, saws

pair of scissors

openers for cans

bottle opener

for wine bottle

screwdriver

ok it's cheap too, you can hang it

from the belt or the backpack

If you want to see the tests of some of the stuff i use

go to my other Youtube channel: anasteli tech vlog

You can see the link on the side.

I will take this small bag too.

to put various things

Toothbrush

a small toothpaste

tweezers

This was useful because last year i steped on a sea urchin

so i take this with me just in case

i need to take out any thorns

a shaving cream

my razor blade

a aftershave cream, small to fit inside

a small hotel sampoo bottle

and for sure a body cream

I use wax cream

its very good

You can find this over there made from the monasteries

They have also hurbs inside

I also take ear plugs

because the other people snore and it's difficult to sleep with out them.

An other neccesety item is a hat

I took this one that has this cloth on the back

Because i burn on the back of the neck

even when i use sun lotion

so this hat

also protects the neck

and if you want you can remove it

and leave only the hat.

It also folds to put it in your pocket or bag.

Unfold it and wear

You must have a hat for sure, the sun is very strong there.

My back pack is now ready

It's very light

this is very good for the walking

I will also have a waist bag

i got a bigger one this year

you can put more things in here

lots of slots

it's got a back one to put money and id card.

You must have your id card or passport to enter mount Athos.

So you put the stuff you need the most in here

like the flash light

Your id card, diamonitirio, phone, camera e.t.c.

My friends thank you for watching, press Like

What Is Happening - Duration: 6:37.

we got the truck loaded up today we're going from Tucson to Phoenix and we just

put everything in the truck that we had taken inside to stay at Greg's house and

now we're ready to hit the road again but before we leave a place we always go

back inside and we go look through everywhere that we were at least once

for each of us and then we go through the whole truck and then mentally go

through everything that we have just to make sure we don't forget something but

we did forget something for the first time when we stayed at our friends in

Nevada and that was our laundry bag and instead of having them ship our laundry

bag to us we had a couple pieces of clothing in the laundry bag and they're

just going to hold on to it because we think we're gonna go back to visit them

and so we're able to find actually Greg found us a really cheap laundry bag from

Goodwill so don't worry we got the laundry situation taken care

of so I think we're just gonna hop in the truck now and we're gonna start

rolling everything's looking good the trucks good and we're headed to Phoenix

so I just told them how we go through everything twice or three times before

we leave so that we don't forget stuff yeah because we forgot our laundry right

and then so this time we got it in the truck and we started going through

everything and then I realized I didn't have my sunglasses so we went back

inside and I had hung them on the the what's

called the blinds the blinds for the window I had hung them on there so yeah

when you're traveling and stuff don't just jump in and take off jump in just

kind of go through everything you know have a checklist of all the most

important things yeah but we're good we should be good to

go so it's really hot we'll see you guys in Phoenix hundred intent I made it to

Phoenix and it's a little bit darker outside here not sure why there's a lot

lighter in Tucson and we got here in this dark yeah it's only been like a

couple minutes a couple of seconds for you guys no we uh we met up with a

friend here and we went out to dinner and so that was really good to catch up

with her and yeah it's been a long time since we've seen her so that was really

good and then we're staying tonight at who I've never met them before so

yeah we're staying with a friend of mine from high school we played softball

together and I haven't her since I don't know been a long time

so we're seeing with her and hang out with her and her she's a little baby and

yeah yeah so Taylor played softball in college

yeah and so yeah it's cool cuz I haven't I've only met a couple of your teammates

yeah yeah now that we've eaten the nopales cactus every time I like see it

there's some right there every time I see the cactus now I'm like oh it could

be food we could eat that oh that's kind of cool thanks Greg for teaching us yeah

it's it's really warm outside like the Sun has already gone down the moon's out

right over there and just as we were driving back here from dinner I was

thinking out sitting my hand out the window and it just felt like a hair hair

dryer was blowing on my hands like on high now I was just saying like in the

wintertime you know you pay to have that that warm air or now it's like free so I

think what we're gonna do is we're gonna take a bunch of jars and just trap all

this warm air and then when it's the winter then we'll open all the jars up

it'll heat up their house for free so yeah that should work out really well

yeah so today is pretty simple just a little bit of driving a little bit of

hanging out so but hopefully you guys are doing well

if we're trying to figure out like we want to put together like a survey

I don't know this survey or forum or something yeah questionnaire maybe they

get to know you a little bit more I'm kind of what I'm curious is it's like

what are you're interested in you know what type of content do you enjoy the

see if there's something you could learn about like what would it be so I think

Taylor's gonna help me put together like a form a survey and we could probably

make it pretty quick right yeah yeah so I'm gonna link it in the bottom

of this video so that that means we have to get it done by the time we post this

video so check on that link and then fill out the survey and I'm sure they'll

be like handful of questions in there but just fill it out and then that it

will allow us just to get to know you a little bit better and then we have some

ideas of some some different things but we'll let you know more about that in

the future so anyways thanks for watching today and I hope you're doing

well check out that survey we'll see you

later hats off to you

How to Help a Depressed Person - What To Say (and What NOT to Say) - Duration: 5:06.

So you now know what the symptoms of depression are, and what it looks like --

and now you want to help. What should you say to a person who is depressed? Stick

around and I'll get to that.

There are loads of things that you can say to help

out a person with depression, but I'd rather get into what you shouldn't say --

because those are the things that you should be avoiding, because those can be

very damaging -- especially when a person is in a sensitive or vulnerable or

depressive state. First up we've got: "you'll get over it" or "get over yourself".

Other things that are similar to these are "Snap out of it" or "Stop feeling sorry

for yourself". "It's not a big deal", "Pull yourself together", "Have you tried to

just... not be sad?" People with depression have whatever problems they're facing

all up in their face, and to them, it overpowers everything else. Saying things

like these makes them feel like you're not trying to help at all. Worse, you've

made their huge problem (that they've probably been dealing with for a period

of time) seem like it's just a trivial thing. This makes them feel alienated.

What can you say instead of this? You can say something like, "I understand that

you're going through a really difficult or challenging time right now. You're not

going crazy, and I'm here to listen." Second up, we've got: "Just be positive."

Other things that are similar to this are: "Have you tried calming tea?", "Just pray

about it", "Just go out and get some exercise", "Let's go out and drink it off,

or let's do drugs!" More often than not, depression isn't a choice. And people

with depression aren't lazy either. They've tried a lot of different

strategies to cope -- maybe even including some of the things that you've just

suggested. Maybe your advice makes sense, but that isn't the point. When you point

out quick fixes, you're essentially telling them that their huge, complex

internal problem can be solved by something simple, small, and external to

them. Their problems aren't so trivial that they can be solved by one simple

thing in that moment. They need to come up with tangible solutions that they can

accept, and the most that we can do is guide them to it. An alternative thing to

say would be: "What would you like to do about it? Whatever it is, I'm here to

support you." or if you can, "Can I give you a hug?"

"Here's another set of things that you shouldn't say: "Just be grateful that you

have..." or, "Some people have it worse", "Everyone has bad days", "Well, life is not

fair." Like I said earlier, their problems are all up in their face. They don't care

about other people's problems -- they care about their own, right in that moment.

They know what they have, and they're not ungrateful for it. They also know that

life isn't fair, because obviously, life isn't being fair to them right in that

current situation. It's just that their current situation is so overwhelming, and

they want so much to find a solution that it's taking all of their energy and

all of their focus. Something you can say instead of this would be: "I can't imagine

what it's like for you, but I'll try my best to understand. I care about you, and

I'm not going to leave you." Another set of things" "It's always about you", "You just

lack attention", "You're making us feel bad", "It's your fault for feeling that way",

"What's wrong with you?" These are some of the worst things you can say to a

person who is depressed or a person with depression. You might be a well-meaning

person to have approached said person with the intent to help, but saying these

things can be incredibly damaging. These things show that you're persecuting the

person for the way he or she feels, which as I've mentioned, is not within their

control. It's bad enough that they're going through a really really tough time,

but saying all these things would just really pile on to what they're going

throug. What would be a better thing to say if they already think that it's

their fault? You could say, "Right now, I don't care whether it's your fault or

not. What I care about is you. Period. And that right now you need help. When people

are depressed, the things that they need most in that moment are empathy, warmth,

support, and understanding. The things I've mentioned earlier could make them

feel dismissed, trivialized, judged, alienated, and pushed away. I get that

it's difficult, but just remember these four things: warmth,

support, understanding, and empathy. And hey. If you find yourself speechless, I'd

like to quote this song from Ronan Keating

in the nineties.

Because sometimes, it's enough that you're just sitting there

with that person, and that person knows that you're there for them. I hope you

found this helpful. If you did, share this with your family and friends, and don't

forget to give this video a thumbs up, and smash that subscribe button. Thanks,

and I'll catch you next time!
